  1. I would love to get your insight into what is wrong with my set up then. I got my kit off ETM which is similar to 6Boost again with an un gated manifold and it runs off the housing with a Tial 44mm gate and it won't even come close to controlling boost. My kit is coming off to go back to him to get modded to run like a conventional set up. The only thing i can see different to the number of these on this site and mine is where mine is plumbed into the housing. We tapped a new vac feed with bigger vac line, disassembled the wastegate to check if anything was wrong. It was perfectly fine. Changed to a brand new Turbosmart 45mm gate and same issue. Past 5000rpm it spikes past both the 14psi spring pressure and 10psi spring pressure to 21psi we even went as far as to dropping off the screamer pipe to eliminate that as a cause and still spiking. This was all with no EBC and should just be running spring pressure. So i will be going to wastegate off the manifold set up. Mine is a GT3582R with 0.82 ex housing also
  2. I swear to god i saw this car in the pit area of Superlap World Challenge. I was so dumb founded that i snapped off a few pics of it lol Tough looking to say the least GL
  3. This is a very impressive build to say the least. I jump on here and check atleast once a week to see if there are any updates. Out of curiosity are you planning on running this thing at the strip in Mackay? if so i am making the drive down from Townsville to see it run lol
  4. My old GTST had the blinkers for the front where the parkers were meant to be... bad idea if you ask me as people could barely see them at night and not at all during the day in my opinion. It wouldn't be hard to get two small LED blinker lights from any auto shop really and jimmy something up in the blinker location on the bumper. Just my two cents
  5. Thank god lol those Advanti's looked aids lol. Just more to personal preference but i would have leant more towards a HKS GT3037s or GT3076 (Garrett) depending on brand preference off the standard exhaust manifold to get the same power but a bit less boost and also a ViPec or some ECU to delete the AFM but other than that nice build so far. Looking forward to track vids
  6. A little bit of progression. Paul was able to get onto Leigh at ETM and they discussed some further tests. The car will be back on the dyno tomorrow morning and the vac feed is going to be checked to see if it is sealed in the pipe ok and if that is not an issue then the gate will be removed all together to see if it a) runs no boost or b) the same events occur. Hopefully its a simple issue of the vac feed just not sealing but we will soon see
  7. Going by what i have seen around on the site here of other set ups on RB's mine is in a completely different spot. My only option really is to revise the wastegate set up as getting a new rear housing and getting the manifold modded to suit is not really going to be time consuming. If that doesn't work then the car will be brought back to standard set up
  8. Pretty sweet cluster by the looks, free bump
  9. lol had same result with my old R33 GTST, made all of 99rwkw with a power line that looked like it was attached to a pogo stick... after market ecu in and hey presto 191rwkw and a much nicer driving car
  10. As you can see the exhaust flow path and the direction of the wastegate intergaration pipe it doesn't really flow with the exhaust flow path
  11. Thats what i am hearing from a lot of people actually which is why i am leaning to plumbing it in like a traditional set up. This kit and gate set up was done by ETM, no mods to his kit has been done
  12. I regret using a power fc lol they had there place 10 years ago. I have not missed my power fc one bit since it went to a new owner. For the price you can't go wrong with the ViPec. As with Phil i totally agree. Fuel cut for rpm limiter on power fc Also did i mention i hate air flow metre's? You will skip that issue with micro tech but definitely wouldn't recommend going down that path of essentially using a game boy advance to run your car
  13. Not really an option as there is barely room for the one wastegate. As stated by Adam just before why will it work on other cars and mine so far being the exception to the rule? Its not like i am pushing huge boost or running a rediculous turbo set up, the whole reason i got this set up was the assurance from the manufacturer and also the mountain of people that have used this set up very effectively. I am almost at the end of my patience with this thing and unfortunately no one seems to be able to pin point an issue that will cause this to be such an underwhelming product
  14. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R33-Gtr-t329733.html Above is link to build up thread for reference. Also there is no EBC or bleed valve its just spring pressure. Wastegate was pulled apart and inspected to make sure all was well and appears to be fine
  15. I am at the end of my patience with this issue so i am hoping someone on here can point me in the right direction. Current set up is a standard RB26 with ETM manifold and GT3582R with 0.82 rear housing with the wastegate off the housing mod done. Runs a Tial 44mm wastegate with 1bar spring and full 3 to 3.5inch exhaust. Runs 100mm cooler and Vipec ecu. We have tried a new wastegate (turbosmart 45mm) plumbed in a new vac feed with bigger vac line (3/8th) dropped the screamer off the wastegate changed it back to the original 0.7bar spring all to no joy. Boost goes up to spring pressure then creeps 1 or 2psi then spikes to 24psi Any help with guys that have the same wastegate set up would be fantastic Cheers Marty
  16. Yea it will be a pain in the ass but we have tried everything i can think of atleast. dropped the screamer pipe off the gate, plumbed a new vac feed pretty much straight infront of the housing, went to bigger vac line 3/8th size, changed to a completely new waste gate and even went back to the .7 bar spring all with no luck. it would just go up to the spring pressure and then creep one or 2 psi then shoot straight up to 24psi
  17. This thing has been close to being lit on fire its not funny. Changing the wastegate location to a traditional set up and a few other tweaks aswell and hopefully get it all tuned nicely
  18. Yea mate still in townsville. PM Replied Cheers Marty
  19. Hey all due to a little change in direction i am looking to sell this. Is a GARRETT GT3582R 0.82 V band rear housing which has been HPC coated by Chris from Craved Coatings in black hi temp finish. This also has been modified by ETM (Extreme Turbo Manifolds) to run the wastegate off the housing. The vband flange for the gate is to suit a Tial 44mm and as it turns out the 45mm turbosmart gate fits aswell. is still on the car but will be removed once sold. Can organise freight at buyers expense, won't really cost a huge amount though Looking for $550 ono Cheers Marty
  20. Yea Paul has had it on the dyno, am revising the turbo and wastegate set up on the car now.
  21. Car went in today for tuning, having a few little dramas with boost control over 6000rpm but pretty sure we have sorted out that issue and should be all finalled and back on the streets tomorrow
  22. lol all good. yea it definitely got some attention on Thursday night haha
  23. He powder coated mine so it would be a little more hard wearing than paint but it would depend on what colour or style finish you went. Mine was around $230 i think but i would say shoot him a pm or email [email protected] and he will be able to let you know
  24. Definitely keen to see the vids of it
  25. lol when it goes in for a tune i'll get a quick clip of it on the dyno as all the ones i have are about 5 or 6 minutes long lol
