  1. p.s I dont like getting into the kick pannel were the ecu is as I belive the more one root's arround with it the more likely some of those fine wires will break in the socket. The less you remove the ecu the better. Note it would be quite costly to replace the scoket that plugs to the ecu. It could also cause faults that are hard to trace. Thats why I think its better to reset the ecu the paper clip way. my 2 cents DAMQIK
  2. what macka's saying is right the wider the tyre in the dry the better the wider the tyre in the wet: the more likely the car will fish tail and spin out under power & cornering, Due to the tyre not cutting through the water lying on the road the tyres on my car seem to float over the water. I also try to stay off boost in the wet but in saying that it can also make for more FUN when its wet. (WET WEATHER ACTION) Regards DAMQIK
  3. The r32 only has the knob I dont think it has a plug for a paper clip to go into. the knob needs to be in the diag position for the whole time you need it to show fault code's remember to turn off ign before setting the knob back into its original position. DAMQIK
  4. Yes, one wire is an earth and the other a signal (to put the ecu in diags mode) it dose the same as removing the passanger kick trim ,unbolting the ecu, turning it around and turning the little knob arround clockwise all the way with a fine screwdriver. which BTW may be easyer if you are unsure about using a paper clip. 5. The proper diagnostic tool is a wire paper clip The R33 method is to open the fuse pannel under the dash you will see a grey connector pointing downwards, pick the two wires on their own in the plug (the ones closesed to you) turn on the ign put the paper clip in so it shorts the two wires for around two seconds (this puts the ecu in diag mode) remove paper clip. the chk eng light on the dash will start flashing a set of codes turn the ign off & on again the ecu is now reset benifits: no reprograming the radio or clock & no spanners sparking on the rear of the parcel shelf (killing the ecu's). Regards DAMQIK
  6. Somebody must have a spare ecu they can part with.
  7. I dont think so. I have 255 45 18 all round & no traction in wet (only light mods)
  8. Sounds like to me the clutch is grabbing check the clutch fluid. may be not enough there to keep the clutch dis-engaged.
  9. Is the T28 better than the T3 on the r33 gtst?

  12. Let me Know how you go as there are a few other things that you can try.
  13. One of the cars I did this to had unstable idle problems and this procedure fixed that as well.. this may not fix your problem as this is an air ratio adjustment at idle (only) depands on weather your car is stalling due to being too rich or not.
  14. Guys, There is a simple fix at the rear of the inlet there is a screw adjustment (Near the brake booster) winding it out a little has fixed the stalling on the three cars that I have done this to. Hope this helps DAMQIK P.S only R33 that I know of.

  19. Bought my car from Sports Car World There gone bust now so I can crap on em all I like [*]they didnt tranfer the car into my name [*]they didnt insure the car as they were supost to with suncorp [*]they didnt pay the warranty people (and I bought the better warranty) [*]I paid for a mod that I didnt get [*]they didnt pay the stamp duty on the car when I did. [/list=1] Not realizing any of this until after they busted. I had to sign stat dec to prove the car was mine and show all my paper work on the car, to transfer the rego I had to pay just over $800 stamp duty If I ever see the mother again Ill beat him to a bloody pulp, The stress he caused my wife and I is unforgiveable we were cutting it close (money) to buy the car anyway beat that story if you can.

  21. Yes, CRC it used to be in a blue tin but now its in a white tin. DAMQIK
  22. oh neally forgot a noisy pump can be caused by many things *blocked fuel lines/filter *kinked hoses *bad connections (electrical) to pump ((read low voltage)) *worn bearings *worn rollers *sucking air inside or outside of the tank *blocked strainer at bottom of tank possible causes car run low on fuel too often crap fuel could try fuel cleaner (not octain booster) wailst checking gauge sender you could check pump and strainer @ same time. DAMQIK
  23. The fuel gauge in a skyline is such that it holds its possition even after power is removed, eg u got half a tank and turn off the key and the gauge holds that possition. Did the gauge die on a full tank? if it did its possible that its getting no power remove the dash starting at the gearstick and check the plugs are connected at the back of the dash (Possible not pluged back in propper when the speedo was flicked). To test the gauge get into the boot and remove that cover that hides the battery, opp the batt theres a plate bolted down by 4 10mm head bolts remove these under you will find the plug to the fuel pump and gauge sender remove/clean this plug's check the gauge, if no go remove the plug and turn on ign the gauge should drop to E. let me know how ya go thus far and I will advise again. DAMQIK
  24. The problem is NDR that most Aussie Companys are plain Greedy. They are the ones that put on such a large markup, and they couldnt give a rats ass about ya once they have your $$$. I for one am dam sik n tired of the poor aussie getten hard dun by B/S. These companys need a bloody good kick in the pants when they really learn to look after thier country by giving their customers good service and good value they might find that they would get good turn over and wouldnt have the need for the mark up, which most of the time is close to tripple of what they paid.
