  1. simply drive it in my area and youll get pulled over and defected. that might force you to go cold the sphincter of the universe. i witnessed an r33 get followed, pulled over for "random" bt, and then had car gone over with fine tooth comb. they pinged him for his seatbelt... which was standard. 18in rims, bov and pod. they seemingly never notice fmics, even when i got harassed recently they didnt notice it.
  2. hi all, after recently being harassed by my friendly local hwp officer, and listening to some hoo hah about how modified cars make baby jesus cry, it seems i have maybe 2 weeks to do something about my atmo bov and pod filter. or risk being headhunted further. atmo bovs may be illegal, despite them sounding awesome, but what i need to know is what i can do about it exactly. the car is pretty heavily modified as you will see from the photos, and im pretty sure i cant get away with a stock bov (as if it could handle 18psi anyway). so what options do i have? - use hose fittings to plumb a hose from the bov back into the intake somewhere? will that make it much quieter? the horn section unscrews, and i think id be able to screw in a hose fitting fairly easily. - block it off? i expect this defeats the purpose of a bov completely. - replace with some kind of aftermarket plumb back bov? also, will a black plastic enclosure around the pod filter keep the nathan rees and co. at bay? thanks guys ps: no i dont deserve to be harassed, i only have one speeding fine on my record and even that was highly dubious and the police offered me a reduction to <15kmh in court.
  3. the 430 is good for about 220-230rwkw depending on how much boost you want to squeeze out of it. my understanding is that the 480 is good for about 250-260ish rwkw. if its not much more expensive id recommend going for the 480. that being said, my 430 is doing the job nicely at the moment, spools up quickly too, 18psi by about 3800rpm. apparently the 480 is a bit laggier. depends what youre after i spose.
  4. not specific to stagea... but ill say atmo bov! sounds total porn, and all the ladies agree! god they love it.
  5. just noticed in the pics, there appears to be a stop line in about the middle of your car. ie: you were 2m over it. not 30-40cm. correct me if im wrong. i know it sucks. but i just got quoted $3200 to fix my suspension. blown engine... gearbox... all could be much more expensive. hurts to see your car wounded though. good luck with repairs.
  6. im pretty sure skylines have right of way. trucks fault.
  7. how much of the car did he hit? more than 30-40cm changes things doesnt it... because that means the truck was driving on/over a stop line... also, why cant it be argued that the stop line is in a highly dangerous location, where 30cm is the difference between safety and being wiped out by a truck... technically we all know youre at fault, but why is the truck that close to a stop line? and unable to see you? sounds like a very dangerous stop line and/or moronic truck driver to me. i hate to doubt your story, but if i was telling this story "30-40cm" would actually mean i was a metre or so over the line! you should have got out and rolled your car back a metre lol
  8. your next move really has to be a turbo. the kkr range is cheap and fairly good, well for the money anyway. ive got one in mine and it goes alright. some place called otomoto distributes them. trouble is theres no such thing as cheap power after a certain point. you will find that you can get a decent power increase and then you should really be looking at things like fuel pump walbro or bosch ($200), coilpacks ($500), clutch maybe... based on what ive heard, the standard injectors are good for 220rwkw or so, which is about all you can aim for with your budget. you will have to consider engine management too. as you can see, this shit starts to get expensive very quickly. i can recommend a bloke who does ecu remapping though, for about $600. great result on my car. good luck.
  9. R35 is not a skyline. while it may be an a stonkingly good car, it doesnt have an RB, doesnt have manual box, is designed to be difficult to modify, and looks hideous. im glad its as fast as it is, no doubt due to the paddle shift etc, but im sorry i just dont like it. +1 to R34 z-tune. best car EVER.
  10. GTR R32 - boxy looking thing with shite rims, easily fixed however. lighter/smaller than the others and more hardcore in its purpose, and of course the original. the cult hero. long live godzilla! R34 - looks the best by far, interior + technology much better. a bit too pricey for me still, but def worth it if i could afford it. R33 - average in every department compared to the other two. still a mean car, but doesnt stand out. GTST R33 - sleek, stylish (with a kit). IMO the best shape GTST, easily modified, lots of aftermarket support, best bang for your buck. R34 - not a fan, less aftermarket support, my choice if i wanted to keep one stock. R32 - hate the styling, but great handling. poxy RB20 lets it down a lot, not as tough as R33. drop a RB25 in and it might go hard, but it still looks like a bag of ass.
  11. good job ports. 13.4s @ 102mph 2.0s - 60ft not bad for a first timer R33 GTS25t need more powah and grip.
