  1. good idea. But perhaps set one up in 2-3weeks? Get a better turnout, give everyone time to be ready.
  2. sold haha. I had mine tuned ages ago and at the time it only had 250ish kw, but it was strapped down with NUMEROUS straps. Anyone who has been to the PITS knows the top notch setup matty has going on there. Pluss I would think that it would have to be strapped down WELL due to OH&S requirements. I dont care who you are, not strapping a car down, or just using 1 strap is completely negligent.
  3. ohhh no. I was too slow for the fullyhekticdoseisbadforyourcar bandwagon IBL and usethesearchbutton ppl
  4. I don't know about most of you, but the price really isn't that bad. $20 bucks in the daily gets me 300kms, $8 in the bike gets me 250kms. But when it comes to filling the skyrice for a track day etc, it's only 1 tank of fuel for what.....about $80 :S. It's pretty affordable. Besides, I saw on the financial section on channel 10, that the bowser price could get as low as "100c" a litre. Sure $1.30 is excessive compared to say a year ago, but here its normal.
  5. get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. Stock instruments can be inaccurate
  6. you will be very happy with the gt3582 with the .63 housing. I had pfc, zorst, plenum, bla bla, pfc, injectors etc with a GCG GT3582 with a .63 rear. Starts to hit boost at 2500rpm-2800rpm. Full boost by 3500-4000rpm. It didnt choke up top, it just kept pulling and pulling and pulling. I made 240-250kw on just 16psi of boost. It depends what u want form it tho. I want more, so i'm swapping the rear housing to a larger one. But if your happy for a solid 250-300kw with fk all lag, and good torque, u wont be dissapointed with the gt3582. I loved the response/torque for the street and track. Feel free to pm me if u have any questions All on a stock as a rock engine, internally.
  7. true that ^^ Heard u could be pulled over for that too something about noise?, probs BS Mine just FAINTLY doses/chuffs, its a good balance
  8. If your talking about the material, HPI has this ranking system; 1: Metal Mesh filters= excellent airflow, but only filters bigger particles. 2nd best intake method apart from NO FILTER. 2. Oiled= Good airflow, will pick up anything. DONT OVER OIL !! 3. Unoiled/paper= Good allrounder 4. Foam= One of the worst filtration systems . BUT if replaced at common intervals, will do a great job. Beware of loose chunks of foam. Best airflow= metal mesh Best filtration= Oiled filters. K & N are a good run of the mill filter. Key is to change it often. My cai after a while, kind of rips a hole through the bottom of the filter .

Yes thats the easiest way to do it. U use the power cables from the fusebox, and there is a earth. its a flange of metal sticking up infront of the strut tower, it will have a (-) on it.
  10. I forget exactly which wire i hooked mine thru, i think it was white. Just hook up the + and G to the gauge, and run a piece of wire to the o2 sensor, strip a tiny bit off and test them all. Easier way is to download a ECU pinout, and hook it up to the O2 sensor wire. Took me 5min.
  11. I call your varex milo can, and raise u this
  12. Forged shaun?
  13. +1 with Brad at Spool. You can source the majority of rebuild parts from him. Good guy, and bloody fast postage Spool FTW
  14. Check out ''car bits'' for your silicone joiner needs. I was really suprised, they had 1/2 a wall dedicated to them

  16. Thats it mate, i believe that was the issue, good job . I should clarify the HP. The GOAL, is 550hp, I am perfectly content with a tad over 500-520ish. BUT, if i managed to get a little bit over 550 (my goal), that would be a BONUS. So looks like 9.25's are the safest option. Would there be a noticable difference between the 10.25's and the 9.25's? Im guessing nothing too drastic? Power, driveability?
  17. Sounds very reassuring. Cant argue with Nismoid haha Dont worry about the tune, I have complete faith in my tuner and my mechanic. Nitto oil pump FTW. Tomei powered I look forward to reading up on your build. Looks like type 2 springs are the way to go. cheers.
  18. Hey guys. Im in the process of finding a set of tomei PROCAMS. My mechanic and I have been talking at length about choosing the correct sized cam for my application, and Im sure he is probably reading this too We have narrowed it down to the 260 range. I have been advised to go 260-9.25mm lift. The reason for this, while my engine was being built we had another engine being built to basically the same specs as mine, however this one had 270-10.25mm cams. This engine had suffered valve spring issues (springs unable to cope with the lift- thats all i can recall), and recently after its final tune it broke one of its springs. Luckily no major damage was done to the engine. So if i play it safe and go the 9.25's we shouldn't run into this problem. So, my question; Can i safely run the 260 10.25mm lift cams? Can anyone vouch for the tomei type B 10.25mm springs as being bulletproof? Or Should I just make it easy for myself, play it safe and go the 9.25mm lift cams to give me a safety margin? Engine is powered by a gt3582, and I don't have a specific ''Purpose'' for the car, its not a dedicated drift bitch, track whore etc. The head is going solid, ported etc etc. Would like to make 550rwhp, anything more would be a bonus, but I doubt the turbo will make it further than that.
  19. possibly next month. Yeah, I've heard its meant to be a really good bike track. Watch the bumps tho lol, they shud get that fixed. Was soo embarrassing seeing the v8's go around it. I can't believe they actually come to QR.
  20. nice. good to see someone else on the coast offering his skills. Would you be able to post up some quotes so everyone has an idea? eg. 1/2 cages surge tanks full cages etc etc I might have a fair bit of work for u in a few months
  21. skiddy :snore: . Bored with that now. Completely mastered it. Next mission is to master QR :: Will be happening Very Very soon .
