  1. We got jipped! Started at 3 and finished at 4! Goddamn Willowbank raceway.
  2. Mmm i also think this. I'm thinking it is the hot weather.
  3. Not sure how a boost tap would affect the standard dual stage controller, get a boost gauge and see for yourself or go all out like i did and get a EBC. I would assume it would always run at 7psi with the boost tap though...
  4. Yer 9 is probably the max you could run through it. Although i wouldnt risk raising the boost until you get a fmic, lots of boost with hot air = knocking.
  5. C'mon guys pay up! Be fair to everyone else!
  6. Hey all, was playing around on my greddy profec b spec the other night, i cranked the set gain (set gain is measurement of how fast the wastegate opens) up to 16 instead of the 12 that it was tuned on. Since then i have noticed a considerable loss of power on boost, it still boosts to 12 psi fine but doesnt feel nearly as powerful as before. Obviously i have brought the set gain back to 12, but have i damaged my wastegate actuator or something else by trying to make it too responsive? If there is already a thread about this then please point me in the direction. Thanks!
  7. You piss off an admin what do you expect?
  8. Are we talking oil going to the catch can?
  9. Basic oil change should be fine. The 100ks one is the massive one where you do timing belt and pump and all other filters and transmission oil and diff oil. I use Motul 8100 X-cess 5w-40w, bout $60 from repco and grade 4 synthetic. Love the value. And use a Ryco Z-145A oil filter.
  10. Did they machine your flywheel when it was installed? Or was it replaced?

    Want To Buy

Dude there is a wanted to buy section. Stock turbo's are fairly easy to find so shouldnt have much trouble finding one.
  12. ^^^^ And if its maintained/cooled down properly.
  13. Or do an atmo BOV if you cant be arsed to make a plumb back system.
  14. Mmm you would think that its bad for it, however there is no definitive evidence of damage (none that i know of anyway). Lots of damage done is to your social image however.
  15. Lots and lots of fluttering. Like extreme fluttering
  16. Okay something really weird happened... Turned car on this arvo to try and fix it and the boost controller is working fine now... Weird
  17. How isnt the tuning shop liable for the damage???
  18. Hey all, was having a lovely thrash around my neighborhood last night when suddenly my boost controlled died! It simply turned off, no lights, nothing. I removed the cables at the back and turned the car on and put cables back in and turned car on again in the hope of resetting it but this did not work. Has anyone else had this problem? I tried a search but nothing came up for it. Thanks in advance
  19. Shit thats an old boost controller, not sure how that works. The high and low buttons mean a high and a low boost mode, see if changing the mode will increase/decrease power. Just google hks electronic valve controller see what comes up. Yer there are two parts to the standard air box, the actual air box and the cold air snorkel. If you remove the cold air snorkel so air is going straight into the box (you should see the panel filter from the entrance) then you should hear alot more air movement.
  20. Interested in snorkel, got pic?
  21. Does sound like a boost controller, any brand names or series names on it? Increasing boost is usually different on each model of boost controller, see if there is an instruction manual for it that should help you understand how to do it. And whats your car? If its stock gtst then any more than 10psi (psi is the measurement of boost in air pressure) will be detrimental to your car so keep it under 10 or at 10psi. You MIGHT be able to hear it then if the boost is cranked up but you may still need to modify the intake, like someone said earlier just pull off most of the air box so its going straight into the panel filter then you will hear it.
  22. Maybe more piping and larger intercooler size means air has to travel further giving more lag?
