actually paul it all depends on the network ur connecting too... ltwin modems work the best on our network... agere soft modems dont nor do many other internals... an internal is always going to be bad in comparison to a hardware modem for obvious reasons... dont be fooled by USB modems either... its an internal modem with a tampon string.

dropping port speed to 57600 isnt going to do dick. you only need to add ,, (6 seconds is way too long) after a phone number if you are having issues connecting to the internet not while you are connected.
