Part-time 4WD This most basic system provides a choice of settings that can be changed depending on your driving situation, but cannot be left engaged on dry pavement. If it is, the transfer case will wear, resulting in mechanical damage. The settings range from 2WD, 4WD High, and 4WD Low. In vehicles that have part-time 4WD, each of the four wheels constantly gets 25% of the torque to prevent wheelspin when in the High or Low setting. In newer models, the driver can shift from 2WD to 4WD High while driving, but must come to a complete stop to shift into the 4WD Low setting. 4WD Low should only be engaged in extreme off-road situations. One drawback of part-time 4WD is that it must be continually engaged and then disengaged in conditions of light rain or snow. This type of system is best for people who really don't need 4WD, but occasionally go off-roading and want a little extra security when it snows. Full-time 4WD Unlike part-time 4WD, full-time 4WD, is just that--a system that can continually remain operating. This more advanced, convenient form of 4WD allows you to choose between all of the same settings, but can remain engaged while on dry pavement. Added to the High and Low settings is an automatic or full-time 4WD setting. As with part-time 4WD, the shift from High to Low must be made during a complete stop on most vehicles. Full-time 4WD is best for people who regularly drive in slippery conditions where constant shifting between 2WD and 4WD can become tedious. All-Wheel Drive All-wheel drive is similar to full-time 4WD in that the system is always sending power to the wheels with the most traction, but AWD has no 2WD switch. It is always operating in 4WD mode. When the road gets slippery, the AWD system locks the axles and automatically distributes power to all four of the tires. In many cases, AWD vehicles have no on/off switch. Some AWD systems are more rugged than others, though most can't be taken into extreme off-road situations. If the AWD system allows the driver to switch to a "low" range gearing setting, like in the Dodge Durango and Toyota 4Runner, then it is probably intended for severe off-road use. AWD systems work well in cars and crossover vehicles because they don't add much weight and make them true all-weather vehicles.

The Stagea 350s came in a 6 speed manual, it was an Autech version. I reckon if you could get that in your VQ25DET it would be sweet....if you can get it in.......if it is suitable....if it was cheap enough ...so many if's Jules

Don't know but fark I would love to know. . . . . . I have spoken to a few places and some reckon with ecu changes you can expect 10% at the least with no mods. . . . not 100% convinced but only time will tell...

That's A Nice Looking Volvo Mate.......
Paramour replied to Paramour's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
It's funny because all I see are Volvo's that look like Stag's. . . -
Was driving through the city yesterday and was at the lights waiting. 3 blokes in the pub were arguing about the stag as follows: Guy 1 - It is a volvo you can tell by the back end Guy 2 - But the nose is not a box, must be something else like a falcon Guy 3 - I reckon its one of those new commodores, they come in wagon Guy 1 - Bet you $50 it's a volvo Then I drove off, I wonder who got the money LOL

If you can settle for a 2002 model your chances are good, one with all the goodies will be around $30k. A 2003 maybe a little harder to find and get under $30k. I can say that the twin sunroofs are awesome, the Bose stereo is worth it 500%. No need to upgrade at all with that stereo. Jules

Northshore Prestige has a Black one, decent k's, no sunroofs, but has Nismo springs etc...... 2002 model, there is 2 for sale on the car sites. You wont be able to comply late 2003 ones, but most 2003 up to the date the emissions laws changed. I dont know if there are any 03 AXIS around that are complied, maybe. I was lucky enough to get mine with all the options except cruise control. Paid for it too. Hope that helps Jules

Hello, Having been in the Navy for 10 years I changed rego so many times, yes you get the unused portion back from what ever state you changed it from, but you have to chase it up from them.....they will not freely offer it. Jules

You can ask the dealer to get a shorter registration period say 6 months, so you dont have to pay as much...make sure the price reflects that http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/oth...rationnews.html Depending on the dealer some have rights to register in another state, but they are mainly on border towns...but ask them anyway you never know... Oh and drive your new car down to VIC....you will love it...and it is a great way to know your new car. I strongly reccomend North Shore Prestige too to buy a stag.....great bunch of blokes Jules

Hello and Welcome I will answer as per your numbering: 1, The Electric seats are standard on ARX & AXIS, all the others are optional extras on a car by car basis, the Cruise control is by far the least common on the M35 Stags which is a shame as it should of been standard 2, Some are disconnected some are not.....if the wires have been cut then it is more than a simple replace the globe effort 3, Yes we would laugh, unless you like your cars with 150k+ kilometers on them, but you never know your luck. You would not need to spend much more though to get what you are asking 4, see 3, I may be right I may be wrong...but it is my view anyway. Jules

Michael, Are you driving other peoples cars without them knowing....LOL For any of you Northern Beaches/ North Shore guys we should arrange a catchup one Sunday or Saturday. Jules
-
Well I love the AXIS version and am very impressed with it being a 2002 model.....would only get rid of it if I bought another Evo or no longer needed a wagon...........
-
Need reflective number plates me thinks...
-
Nope, when you go to pay online it gives you an option to view the pics...so I did and copied them to my desktop, better than the $11 they want to charge you for them. Yeah I coughed up with the cash because I was actually speeding, not much but enough to fill the state governments empty chest..
-
I was spotted..... Done my part to help the state out of it's recession.....have you done your part........LOL As you can see it was such a dangerous action, glad it is for safety and not $$$$$$

Please elaborate for me.....I am curious

Cheers........I will record all bulb types when I pull it apart some time very soon.....just for reference's sake.... Jules
-
Thanks fellas.....so I wasn't stupid after all there is no easy way....LOL Don't suppose you can save me the double handling and know the bulb sizes, wattage and pin type....I reckon I will just replace them with LED.....if I have to go to those lengths to change each time... Jules
-
Hello, As silly as it sounds I want to know has anyone changed the rear brake light bulbs....I had a quick look for access and couldn't see an easy access....I am sure it is easy as, but does anyone know how to access it before I start pulling and levering bits off. Also it appears you need the hands of an elf or small child to replace the front indicator bulb.....or I am way to big....LOL
