ey all, this may sound stupid...but noticed sumtime ago that my accelerator pedal had about an inch of dead spot at the start.. when i had my stock plenum put back on from a custom (JUNK) one... the throttle wire is to long now... so when i put my foot down... i dont get full throttle!!... i cant belive it took me this long to relise!!!... anyway..is there a way to shorten the wire??... or do i buy a new one??... n e help would be appreciated...cheers alex

sorry guys...ummm.... my tuner at RE Customs told me that the car wont idle when cold unless u hold your foot on the accelerator because the AAC valve (idle solidnoid i think) was broken.... so went and bought another and plugged it in...but no difference.. is it the AAC valve that controls the idle when cold... or am i wrong??... so basically..when the car is cold..if u tick it over i will start... but as the revs drop from the start it will just konk out...

today i bought an AAC valve, from the wreckers (those bastards are soo expensive) n e ways... got it and all... bolted her on and plugged her in,,.. now am i missing sumthin??..but it made zero difference..car still wont idle when cold... anyhelpers??... its a r33 93... bastard thing

hey dude... umm pinging goes hand in hand with detonation.... its when the compression in the cylinder is to great and is exploding b4 the spark and therefor settin things of as the piston isnt ready to take the blow.... ( im pretty sure).. pinging ruins your engine if u consistanly bang it... can go from busting up the rings to melting a piston ( im pretty sure again) so guys.. from what i have told u... is the car stil drivable ( when i say that i mean i will granny it hard).. or should i just not drive it again until the tuner has a look??. thanx for the quick replies guys.. apprecciated engo

hey guys, i have been reading up a fair bit on how pinging/detonation works as a few nights ago....for the first time i took my car into the high rev range for one gear and noticed it was pinging... i nned to know...this is the first time i heard this but i have seen that by the time u hear it, it is to late... this engine has 60,000km on it and i put it in no longer than 1-2 months.. i have not gone past 3,000rpm since this happened... and have booked it in to be tuned and so forth...but..... is it all

gah!!!.. i have this too... it just makes the car sound soo junky... like the poor thing is struggling.. i can tell its gonna be a bitch to figure out... but its just too annoying to stand/!!!!

ahh... took it all off... that thing was annoying.. lol.. thanks for the help guys... i thought that takin the boost solinoid out would get rid of a rattle i have... (cause it wasnt mounted right)... but it didnt...killer... anyone know of shitty rattles comin from the passenger side??.. like maybe in the dash or at the engine side of the fire wall??... n e ways.. cheers alex

hey all, i have noticed that when i bought my car it had the stock boost solinoid just hang on the right side of the engine bay where it was not bolted n e where.. and today tried to refit it and noticed i cant because i have a high mounted turbo the bracket which the solinoid sits on has been altered.. so i was wondering.. no hoses are connected to it but it is plugged in. and the vac holes where the hoses go are not blocked up either.... am i able to just disconnect the solinoid from the plug???... i dont have a boost controller atm.. i just have a 5 pound spring in the external wastegate so yeah...any helpers???

dude its either vaccum leaks... ( check on the back of the inlet plenum if that small black hose is fitted nicely and follow it around just to make sure ( i had the same problem) ended up being my custom plenum i had made was warpin under boost and was gettin vac leaks... or its your idle solinoid.. the little gold piece at the back of the plenum also... u may have to replace it... it basically tells the engine when it is cold that it has to idle harder and allow for coldness and say if the a/c is goin and things like that... but when the car is warm its all sweet..very annoying.... but if u say its idleing at 2000rpm.. then it will be a vac leak...almost positive. hope this helps

i only relised last night that my car is pinging at high revs.!!!... NOOOO!!!.. i dirve an r33 gts-t.. its only doing 5 pound of boost and running very very low power... it sounds like its comin from the turbo but not 100%.. all the oil levels and oils are fine and all that..!!.. its just annoying as!!... this is the 2nd engine my car has had and yet it is causing shit again... n e one got recommendations of things that have to happen??..

hey dude... great DIY.. i just have a small problem... when i bought my car i bought it modified... my intercooler piping has that hose from it..but it goes straight to the external wastegate.. ( i also bought a turbotech) .. so all i have is a single hose with no t bits in it or anything... and the stock solinoid just sits at the side with nothin on it..or plugging it.. can ya help us at all?? cheers alex

ahh!!!... i asked the guy just to make sure if it will fit.. he reckons may have to change a few things...but my tuner at RE customs just straight out said bosch 040... ill have a look at these walbro's though.. thanx for the help!!.. cheers alex

ey guys just quickly... i am just about to go buy a bosch 040 fuel pump.... umm... just making sure.. i dirve a r33 skyline 93... all bosch 040 fuel pumps are the same arent they??.. or can u get specific ones for specic model cars.... cheers guys

hey dude... a little off the topic.. but i noticed that your E.C.U i havnt heard of and as i am on the hunt for an E.C.U for my r33 gtst i though i would just quickly ask what they approx go for and the where abouts to get them... and also..maybe be a noob question... but... what a CAI??.... cheers

ey guys, i drive a 93 r33 gtst ... with a microtech E.C.U in her.. its a LT12 but i am having some problems gettin this thing tuned... as i usual get my work done at RE customs but soon as it has come to the E.C.U they have had no luck with the software... i was wondering.. could anybody plz recomend a tuner that would do a microtech skyline within the south eastern suburbs of melbourne... it would be greatly appreciated!!
