  1. This is what my day has been so far. 400m3 of concrete 20 tonne of steel prefab sections going up. And handing over a new section of mall for fit out. All go today, f**k Mondays.
  2. Quickest times are great. Average it out over 4-5 events with proper races and away we go. Proper scientific dick measuring
  3. Nick has a point and realistically sprint days wouldn't sort this out any better than a drag day would. Cars are too different to get a proper idea of who's quickest + it isn't really racing. You're competing against your own times rather than anyone else's. SAU Kart day/race series required to see who's fastest or we all get in a room together and just get dicks out and measure.
  4. Problem with most shops is they never understand their own workload well enough and agree to time frames that are often unachievable. Might not be their fault its unachievable ie suppliers being delayed etc but they need to account for that or at least explain it when they take on customers. Customers expectations are also to blame here as they often dont know all the little hiccups that slow down a build and drag it out. It might look easy on face value but as the evidence shows its quite easy for builds to blow out from a couple of months to over a year! That is the builders responsibility to explain everything to thw customer and make sure everyone is on the same page.It all comes down to managing expectations of the customer Most shops problem with this is if people actually knew how long it took they probably wouldn't do it in the first place or will find someone else that will do it quicker and cheaper. But those that go down that path will most likely end up with a bunch of empty promises and extra costs. Better to be upfront and honest about it.

  8. OK, first off: a lion, swimming in the ocean. Lions don't like water. If you placed it near a river or some sort of fresh water source, that make sense. But you find yourself in the ocean, 20 foot wave, I'm assuming off the coast of South Africa, coming up against a full grown 800 pound tuna with his 20 or 30 friends, you lose that battle, you lose that battle 9 times out of 10. And guess what, you've wandered into our school of tuna and we now have a taste of lion. We've talked to ourselves. We've communicated and said 'You know what, lion tastes good, let's go get some more lion'. We've developed a system to establish a beach-head and aggressively hunt you and your family and we will corner your pride, your children, your offspring.
  9. How do you not have friction burns?
  10. I meant as a comparable product is all.
  11. Full race manifold? I like them a lot, based in the states though do dunno about better delivery time...
  12. Save money, sell car, buy GTR, ???, Profit? or Fluids, brakes and rotors etc. Then spend 6k on tyres and entry fees into sprint days, hill climbs, drift days, skid pans etc. or 6-7k on hookers and blow. All 3 options are better avenues than a slight power upgrade in a 33...

  17. Hey Guys, It's my birthday in a couple of weeks so I figured go karting would be the perfect way to celebrate Where: Go Karting Brisbane 870 Kingsford Smith Drive, Eagle Farm, QLD 4009 When: Sunday 8th September @ 11am What: Depending on numbers we might book and do a group package or just rock up and drive. Budget around $125pp for about 4-5 10min sessions. Afterwards we'll go to the Hamilton Pub on Kingsford Smith drive for steak and beers. Who: Open to members/people who know me. Let me know who's interested and I can sort out a group booking if needed or whatever. Cheers Col

  20. ok so it's my birthday in a couple of weeks. Was thinking of doing some go karting on either the 7/8 week end or on the 14/15th. Most likely will be at the eagle farm track, Le mans pack so $120-125pp depending on if you have a license there and then a steak at The Hamilton pub up the road afterwards. Anyone who wants to come is welcome but want to get an idea of numbers now. I'll probably make an events thread when I can be bothered but until then...
  21. I'll be disappointed if they get in tbh. I haven't read anything in the liberal party information packs that gives enough detail for how they're going to pull off what they're promising for me to get behind them. Plus their NBN policy is shithouse. And I think the obsession with returning the budget to surplus is pretty kneejerk. Compared to most developed nations Australia has very low public debt, the liberals obsession with drawing the argument to the budget/money seems very weak, avoid discussing their policies in any detail and just point to how much money the other party is spending.
  22. Sounds like it bud. Keen to see how it goes once it has a full tune in it
  23. Will come out for this I reckon
