  1. Woah thats a weird hour to make a post like this but anyway congratulation on your purchase and I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as everyone else here. I'll be doing my service at ERD. Maybe ask Dan if he can do a pre-purchase check as well. Down to earth and very friendly bloke. Cheers
  2. Cool. I'll that be on my list of mods as well.
  3. Good on ya! I was thinking of lowering 1" as well but everyone told me there not much point in getting coilover since I dont drive it hard. Since the GTR already come with coilover (non-adjustable), I could just change the spring and thats all I need. But the 285 tyres might have problem with scrubbing? I'm still learning this wheel thing and theres so much to learn... Current I have have any problem over any hump at all except those really steep ones which can also be cleared by driving slowly.
  4. Well if your car has been lowered then it'll be a total different story. You might have to roll the guards to fit the tyres and in this case, its not the brake clearance issue but rubbing of guard. And as J'Z-R33 said, he needs to roll his guard slightly to make it flush and thats with +15 on a 10.5". Best is to get your current rims/tyre size and go to 1 of those offset calculator (do a search on the forum) and double confirm. J'Z-R33: Do you have much problem going over humps at all? or have you changed the suspension as well to accommodate?
  5. Get the matt silver/titanium colour if they exist. Its hard work to clean the rims (thats why I got the fat 5 spoke LMGT) of CE28N etc if you know what I mean which I why I would recommend bronze. The previous Work CR Kai I've got are in bronze and you cant tell if they're dirty at all... but the LMGT4, I've got to clean them every 1 or 2wks to make them look good Like what God_speed said, the disc type will affect the brake clearance as well and not just the offset/width (I like to think of disc type as the rim's design). Whatever colour or model you're getting, just make sure you go to the Ray's website and get the size off there. You'll never go wrong that way. God_Speed: Thats a very painful experience and I hope you've managed to sell them. Very nice rim though. J'z-R33: Why do you have to roll your guards? I presume you have the car lowered? I'm running 18"x9.5" +12 and 285/30/18 tyres (the tyres came with the rims) and I have no guard problems. But having said that, the car is stock as hell and it looks a lil like a 4WD from the back with those tyres and unlowered suspension. =x Cheers
  6. If you like bronze (i think they'll look better than white on your colour + its way easier to maintain, e.g. you cant tell if its dirty unless you're really close), Andrew Sullivan from Kudos Motorsports is selling his with tyres for around 4.6k, 19" x 10.5" +22, tyres are 265/40/19 i think. I've seen them in real life and they're immaculate. Massive dish. But being 19 means the tyres would be more exp and 4.6k is way out of my budget back that.

  8. Nope. Go to the official Ray's Engineering website for the complete list of offset and width. They've got the full list of compatible cars for all the offset (you cant go wrong that way). Basically the TE37 and LMGTs have their spokes more concave which clears the Brembos. If I remember correctly, all the offsets and width of these 2 rims will fit the GTR and the wider it is, the deeper the dish (widest you can go for LMGT is 9.5 and 10.5 for TE37, hence I recommend TE37). I thought the LM or 400R came with LMGT2 as stock?
  9. Gimme a buzz if anyone's coming to Sunnybank. I'm always keen!
  10. I just got some 2nd hand LMGT4. If you have the money, go for TE37 with 10.5 wide, they look even better than the LMGT4. But having said that, they're both priced about the same brand new so if I'm looking for brand new wheels, it'll be TE37 18x10.5 +22. Here a photo which made me want a white on white car (TE37 featured). This is how the my car looks like now with LMGT4(will update the garage with more photos maybe tomorrow or tonight if you wanna have a look). Cheers!
  11. I'm probably still on the stock single! Are you suggesting that I change to twin? Hearing so much about launching makes me want to do it but after starting at around 4000 or 5000rpm once and getting the burnt smell after kinda put me off from doing it ever again until I'm sure it's safe to do it.
  12. Its not really THAT bad. just a few patches that looks like its been "sandpaper-ed" if you know what I mean. If you can do everything in 1 day I might find time to visit my friend in Toowoomba and let you do it for the day.
  13. How much do you charge to get rid of those blemish on the S3 HID front headlights of 33?
  14. Guys, The current wing I have on the GTR have a couple of water mark and maybe 3 are around the size of a 50cent coin. Does anyone know if there's a way of getting the carbon fibre film off and recoating it again? How much does it cost (rough idea) for the whole wing blade? Can someone recommend a place to go to in Brisbane for a job like this?? I'll post some photos up once the camera is charged up. Thanks! Brandon
  15. I knew we're gonna be there till real late thats why I got mine on the way there. 53XYN: Very night blue you've got there, reminds me of electric. Just 1 thing, mine's a S1 1995, not S3
  16. Gimme a buzz when you're reaching the servo. I'll be around there somewhere.
  17. Doesnt look like I'll be going. The wheels are not aligned and leak's not fixed yet. Sorry guys! But I'll be at the car wash tomorrow for the B&R meet.
  18. I've got mine from the dealer but its a little different from your case. I bought the car as I was very happy with the condition and requested for the documents AFTER payment. He provided me with auction sheet (its a print screen from the auction site) and all the import approval papers. The only reason why they wouldnt have such documents is when the car isnt imported by them (they bought it off someone else and resell it). So if the car is being imported by the dealer, I personally would expect them to provide you with it as there's nothing to hide (unless they've got like a grade 3 or 3.5 and do it up for resale). I've got this worry when I was buying mine as they're a compliance workshop as well which means they COULD probably pass the vehicle easier. But when before the purchase, he's already told me its an auction grade 4 (the thought of requesting for documentation kinda slipped my mind at that time). In any case, either get someone thats experienced to go with you or get a 3rd party mechanic to check it. That would be the best.
  19. I think that would be eight mile plains.
  20. Is there a way of editting the topic or someone can just tell me when and what time is the cruise? Wheels need to be aligned and some grease leak to be sorted out in the front axles.
  21. Anyone got any recommended contacts (preferred Brisbane) for powder coater? MintR33: where did you get those NISMO stickers? Ebay? The LMGT4s I have are like 9yrs old (looked at the production date stickers) and the NISMO stickers are fading, scratches on the paint etc. Someone help me make my car look like this pls!
  22. I might come for the wash if not too late. Colin: heard you even polish your car after the wash at Freedom. Doesnt the dew/condensation make it hard to polish the top? I wonder if I'm over doing it by polishing every fortnight.
  23. Sorry to hijack the thread but I'm curious if the 33 N1 comes with a standard clutch or something better. If they're standard, I'll be in the same position as you in the future... =(
