  1. I might not be able to make it if its too early.
  2. I dont really think the difference is all that great. If you're a series 1 or 2 with the series 3 lights, you'll still be looking at the series 3 price (maybe 1k cheaper which is insignificant). Condition and mileage are again the deciding factor in terms of pricing IMO). around 24-30k will get you something decent doesnt matter series 1/2/3.
  3. In my opinion, normally the term best condition would be for the car to have below average mileage, interior/exterior condition and mods. You will probably find most 34GTR that are priced around 45-50k (vspec or not doesnt matter they're about the same price, +-5k). Its only the Vspec2 and Mspec are worth more (along with those limited edition ones). As much as we know mileage can be tempered with, mileage does play 1 of the 2 biggest part in the pricing of the car. And 2nd factor would most probably be car being stock standard with no engine mods. Look, I'm not saying those modded cars with high power output arent sought after but they're just harder to find a buyer for (its normally one who shares the same thought that'll buy a heavily modified car). And maybe you can import a 33GTR for below 20k but you will not what you're getting until it gets here. If it turns out to have a few problem here and there you'll easily end up spending more than 20k in total for the whole car. Back to the 2 factors which I consider buying a car, mileage. That car has more than 150,000km ffs. Yes you can rebuild the engine but so? How much will you be spending for that? That money you spend for rebuilt will more than likely be going down the drain when you want to sell it (you do not add your mods to your selling price unless its special, reminded me of this girl that bought her 33gtst for something like 15k puts a few mods on and decided to sell it for 18k or 20k, you get what I mean). Before I got my car, I've looked at 3 others. They're all around 20-27k and after speaking to the owners, 3 out of the 3 were on bank loans. Which kinda make what Slide said to be senseful and true to certain extend. If they're on a loan, they wouldnt want to make a big loss from reselling ths car and hence the price for local GTR stands firm. Also the condition of the 3 cars are probably 30-40% of mine. That points out what you get what you pay for mentality most of us' got. As I was also looking at getting a 34GTR before, I've got my own import calculator. For the price Slide has quoted, FOB: 800,000 YEN Xrate: 74.00 FOB: $10,811 AUD TT: $22 Wharf/Shipping: $2,000 Import Duty & GST: $2,470 Compliance: $3,080 Rego (QLD): $800 Stamp Duty: $550 Tyres: $1000 Alarm: $700 Thats 22k based on the 800k excluding insurance as it vary with age (only around 3k cheaper than local). So it does seem that importing is cheaper but hasnt that ALWAY been the case? The fact that you're buying locally, you WILL be paying more or at least 99% of the time because you can see, feel, touch and drive it before buying (not to mention you dont have to wait 2-3months to import and all the hassle along with it). But seriously the last I saw on autosquare, most of the auction house have the better conditioned 33GTR starting AT around 600k to 800k mark and normally they'll end slightly more than 1mil. But on a 2nd note, I think 15k sound reasonable if you want a shell and heavily mod it.
  4. Yea I agree that it'll be the best looking Citroen EVER produced or by any sub european car company for that matter (SAAB, FIAT etc). Noel: Now that you mention it, it does remind me of Veil side. Very Veilside style... lol
  5. There was a Vspec 2 thats immaculate and low on Ks last yr thats going for around 62k here in Brisbane... DAMN first home owner grant. =(
  6. Trade me a black good condition 34 Vpsec and above variant =D
  7. Dont bother. That way all you pay is fine and no demerit points.
  8. I got that for my 1st but was planning for 34 instead before the whole 1st home owner grant came out... =(
  9. Heres another bonet post for ya. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Bo...al-t277156.html KR4-GTR: Maybe he's the secret admirer for Ahmed. lol
  10. Note from the bottom of the table... ・The 18/19/20 inches INSET A in the size table denote models matching big calipers of SKYLINE, FAIRLADY Z (Z34 and Z33), SILVIA, SUPRA, CELSIOR, RX-7 and IMPREZA. Basically any size with INSET A will fit. Depending on how big you want... just order accordingly. The isnt a +20 offset for 20" x 10.5". Only -7, 6 and 18. I would go 18. Anyway I hope you're doing a show car if not I stongly encourage getting 18 and maybe 19 if you're persistent about getting bigger rims.
  11. Yes that would be me. I bought it from Brent (Imperial Auto) a few months ago. That was the most mint 33GTR I've ever seen and at 30k for an N1, I dont think you'll go very wrong (saw 3 other ones priced around 24-28k but none can be compared to the condition of this). And its plain stock other than exhaust with no sign of mods/tempering. I dont believe they still have another N1 for sale (probably hasnt take the ad off). I drove past them a couple of times and there's only that black or midnight purple one now (forgot the colour). I'm 27 and insured with Justcar. My premiun per yr is around 900 I think but thats with max excess as well (excess doesnt really worry me that much as I dont think I'll ever want to make a claim). Just make sure you've done your research and know what you're in for like what Cassandra said.
  12. Go to the Ray Engineering website to check. They have a list of sizes for all models and tells you which model/offset/size will fit. For GTC, its not just the offset, the dish type affects the brembo clearance as well from memory.
  13. I think anything more than 18 are just too impractical but having said that, 19s do look good.
  14. Yea I got quoted around 50 locally by someone but thought I might use that slot for the a missile switch for the boost controller in the future. lolz
  15. Good to see you're being open minded about the whole thing and yes like what sam said the staffs (boys with EFI T-shirts) were pretty friendly. But in general I personally feel you'll want to be treated the same way doesnt matter if you're getting a tyre change or getting an engine rebuild. Good effort for all who organize the dyno day and hopefully you'll have a 4wheel dyno when I got the car properly tuned (not anytime soon!). Cheers!
  16. Yea looks good. Either 2nd or 3rd. I havent been long enough in the scene to tell you what are the things cops look at but ignore the whole defect issue, 2nd would be pick if you've got money to spare and 3rd would be my pick if you want something thats done up (all the mods look sensible). Having said that, you will want to get a 3rd party inspection done as well to make sure it hasnt been thrashed THAT hard.
  17. lol. Dont worry mate, you're not alone. My GTR's my 1st car and I didnt know about all these bs until I bought it and start talking to people about my thoughts for mods. Anyway I dont like getting the wrong attention which is why I'm so paranoid about these... but here's the thread if you're interested and I am 100% sure they are illegal and only 1 place that are authorised to sell them (again I read from somewhere). http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...l=carbon+bonnet There's a lot of other things which are illegal too. You'll find out when you start reading more. I even printed myself a copy of the light mod standard for qld and relevant australian standards and kept it in my boot in case some retard try to tell me something they dont know. But as far as getting defect goes, just try not to be too attention seeking. Having said all that, I've never regreted the purchase and I love my car.
  18. Like what Skyline said, get the exhaust, boost controller and an after market ecu 1st. And when you're tuning it, you can then decide if you want to upsize the injectors. From memory, the stock can handle around the 300kW mark but will be on close to 100% duty (from advises I've got from a lot of people). And if you're getting injectors, the nismo ones are recommended by people whom I've been speaking with due to the spraying patterns (I'm a noob too but just want to share some of my research). And yes they still have ceramic turbos so, you wouldnt be seeing the 300kW that easily unless you change the turbos with higher boost. Anyway very nice series 3 you've got there. Congratz on the purchase!
  19. Mine's on 340km now and the E still hasnt light up yet (still has a bit before hitting the last bar). So it'll be around 400-450km I suppose. But thats without tuning and everything stock, cept for exhaust.
  20. Post some photos or links up. I would go 3rd (not knowing how it sound like). The mods and power looks about right. The 2nd looks like a cop magnet already. Carbon bonnet with GT-C... I dont mean anything bad and personally I love the 2 but when you put 2 together you're getting a lot of attention. Carbon bonnet arent legal at all FYI, even a 34 Vspec2 got done for changing his stock to a ztuned in Queensland (I think its Brisbane).
  21. Not my cuppa... And I presume 99% of the people here would feel the same and most would like a clean looking car with decent mods and not trying to pimp the car up.
  22. Whitey: Like what Redsun mentioned. I dont think the "we wanted to get the highpowered cars out of the way first" shows a lot about the type of service provided. Its like a discrimination against someone with a "low" powered car. In any case, even if you're really gonna do that I would they'll allow 1 "highpowered" car to cut queue for every 3 cars that were in the queue. But at the end of the day its their facility and whats been mentioned here are just plain feedback and nothing personal.
