  1. 10 seems a bit low for a 33 GTST series 2. We've got 2 now, cheapest is $12,900. I'm sure you could find one, but definitely check it out to make sure you won't end up with any surprises. As for mods, the price is going to be way different depending on if a workshop does it for you, or you mod it out yourself.
  2. Mechanic is liable 100%. They probably don't want to be liable, but they are.
  3. must have been a hacker who logged in and used our SAU account that afternoon. A bit dangerous, yes, but that's how we roll at carizma. We absolutely love DOTARS here, and especially the RAWS team.
  4. haha, I'd imagine they have better stuff to do. If workshops followed the letter of the law, compliance would be a lot more expensive and there'd be a lot fewer workshops in the game. Of course, we follow the exact letter of the law in all circumstances, including me contradicting what I earlier wrote. Letter of the law also states aftermarket parts have to be destroyed, right? Ever heard of anyone (except us, I mean) that does this?
  5. that sucks..... how many panels did they get? definitely need more info to give a proper response, but does 'not very deep' mean a cut will take care of it? I'm sure people can give tons of info on panel beaters here. I'd imagine key scratches are number 1 or 2 most common thing they see. but as they said above, best and cheapest are at opposite ends of the spectrum.
  6. How about if a mate showed up at your house party with an expensive bottle of wine, that you later learned was just a cleanskin with an expensive label put on it? Maybe you were still drunk and couldn't tell the difference, but wouldn't you feel a bit cheated? It's a tacky move, but people probably should have been a bit nicer about it. I've definitely seen tackier before anyways.
  7. Yeah, nissan should have just copied the 03 cobra engine, what were they thinking?
  8. Hey mate, we got two r33's at the moment. Come in and check them out, no pressure at all. We're in Richmond, VIC, and always try to give our best prices to SAU members (they're listed at 13,9 and 12,9). We've sold a bunch to SAU people so check other threads about us. good luck with your quest regardless. cheers, David @ Carizma
  9. haha, yeah, might need the mods to start checking IP addresses...... still seems something suspect, anyone who's bought one, what workshop complied the cars?
  10. Be careful, mate. As others said, this is way too cheap. If this was legit, all he'd have to do is take this car to any dealer and we'd snap it up for $14k in an instant. Why would he waste his time on carpoint.com.au? Only thing I can think of is he's probably selling it uncomplied, so it'll be locked in to a workshop that either he or his mate owns, and they'll charge you a fair bit of change to comply it which is how they'll make their profit. Totally speculation so please let me know if it's got a compliance plate on there and I'll eat my words, gladly as well. Give him a call to ask if it's complied already to avoid wasting your time.
  11. Iron Chef is probably best fit to answer this question, and since you're using him as your agent, just send him an email. Regency Park is tough, so what I'd imagine will happen on your car (seeing the pictures from trade car view) is they'll knock it back and give you a list of things to fix. Basically you fix those things and bring it back. Like I said, Iron Chef will straighten all this out, but hopefully I've started you on the right track. The compliance workshop will give you a CIN (Consumer Information Notice), which does have a date and signature on it. Some VicRoads are under the impression that it expires 30 days after signing, others don't care. Your workshop can just issue you a new one if it does expire though, so it's not a big deal. cheers, David @ Carizma
  12. Too expensive. Being a workshop ourselves, we charge $2500 plus GST (discount for cash or if you're gonna push numbers our way). It sounds like he did some extra work, but didn't you let him know the condition of the car before (missing belts, aftermarket exhaust, Brembos) when you got the quote? We usually have about 5 cars at the workshop for compliance, so if a customer hands us a car like yours, we usually say take it somewhere else to fix it up then bring it back (headlight, seatbelts, etc.), which you could have done a lot cheaper than that. I'd definitely let whoever put you on to this guy know what's happening too. And to be fair, let everyone know this workshop's response because there are always two sides to every story.
  13. Spotted one in our showroom, and in our sig on SAU.
  14. Good luck with the purchase, too bad you're not in VIC, we just dropped our Stagea to $16,9. (RS4, turbo, manual).
  15. He's so reputable, even his reputation has a good reputation. also, ditto to what Iron Chef and J-Spec said.
  16. Check out Beer Baron's post 3 down from the top of this page. He explains the reasons.

    Meet The Parents

Dude the first few years I spent in Japan I tried to immerse myself in Japanese culture leaning all the Japanese etiquette only to realize that it does not many any difference. I find now that from the time I get off the plane in Japan I tend so speak Japanese in a western way, ie very direct. I know Japanese don’t like it but hey if they treat you like a Gaijin (foreigner) I will be a gaijin...

    Meet The Parents

I've been married for 7 years to a Japanese lady, and can tell you the best approach is to just be polite. To a Japanese person, we'll never be Japanese, so don't bother trying, just be a polite Westerner. Last of all, make sure you get the alcohol flowing as fast as possible, and keep the father's sake cup always full. Jon @ Carizma
  19. It should be this way, but unfortunately some VicRoads employees have minced beef for brains. Every VicRoads has their own things they look for when inspecting imports. need CIN, import approval, contract of sale, and RWC for rego. See Vic threads for more info.
  20. 34 GTT, and buy from us while you're at it.
  21. Doesn't sound like too big of an issue. If you don't have a compliance workshop already, give us a call (ask for Jon). cheers, David @ Carizma
  22. Hey, not sure, but it's not coming up in our system, either. Might need some more information about the car to see what's going on here.
  23. Master's in comp sci at city campus. mostly in 14.10 comp sci labs....the only male yank in the program (MC060), so you'd know if you met me. -david
  24. No one in VIC has them yet. There's an issue with the evidence that needs to be sorted out first.
