  1. Benson, you're in the exact same situation I was last year. Performance shops will not hire first year mechanics. They want someone who is going to take an equal amount of the work load. My advice is to get in contact with MITA (Motor Industry Training Association) and they'll give you an apprentiship if they believe you're capable of cpmpleting it successfully (and if some of the people in my class can get it, you'll have no problem!). They handle your training, all your paper work, your pay, and they even give you a tool kit. It's the best thing I ever did. MITA will also place you somewhere to work. MAKE SURE THEY SEND YOU TO SOMEWHERE SMALL!! I have a lot of friends who work at dealerships, and none of them are learning as fast as I am. At a small place, they rely on you to do your part of the work load, instead of cleaning for the first 12 months, then watching a mechanic for another 12. You dont learn anything other then what the mechanic did on the weekend, trust me. Next, never thrash the cars. How would you like your at driven down the freeway in 2nd gear? And yes, that is quite common. Just thought I'd throw that in here. I was talking to a mechanic from a performance workshop ages weeks ago who gave me some advice on how to get into the industry. A few things were install as many turbos and intercollers as you can because this will be your most common job. Also, it's good practice gettig your hands dirty. Buy a blown engine and rebuild it. Something like an SR20 you can pick up for a few hundred dollars, ad then sell again for a few grand. You'll make a profit and learn a lot inthe process. an finally, where ever you do your apprentiship, do it at a small workshop where you get uaedto being part of the workload, because they will be relying on you to be able to work quickly by yourself. That's about all the information I can think of at the moment. Hopefully I'll see you on a cruise in the near future and I can discuss this with you further. And if anyone has any more information about getting into the performance sector, I would also be extremely interested in hearing it. Best of luck mate!!
  2. Marko, that as to win SAU's Longest Post award Having said that, this thread is about grounding a boost solenoid wire. If this argument continues, maybe it's time to start a new thread? Just a suggestion.
  3. Guy, I have some spark plugs you can have. I bought them for my car, but I cbf putting them in cos I'm selling it. $111 trade. I tried to sell then to Andrew, but he hasn't sad yes or no yet. I need to give my boss the money asap.
  4. Or [VN2NV] I'm so jealous of a stock VN Commonwhore... I wish I could afford one, instead putting up with this R33...
  5. Hey, I paid $1.40 or so for my first tank of petrol, so for me, $1.13 or what ever premium was last time I filled up is cheap!
  6. Thats what I was thinking. If u get boost spike after doing this, you would have got it before as well. Nothing will change other then more boost at low RPM. Whoever said that is either speaking shit, or had a massive problem. Or is confused. Either way, they're wrong. Dooo it Sunny!!!
  7. Boost controllers do work better, but they cost a fair bit. This mod is free and easy until you yet around to installing the EBC.
  8. Hmmm. This is another thing I've wanted 2 do since I bought my car. I'd be interested in one as well.
  9. No boost guage, mostly auto, 4 wheel studs, most have blue badges (mine are red) AND... They're generally (well, always) missing a turbo from the engine bay.
  10. Marko, not my NA, I'm buying a S2 GTSt, so I'm just planning everything now. POLICE, I've seen that one. Looks good, although it isn't very clear. I want some better pictures from better angles.
  11. u can get [NA 33 WA] tho!!
  12. Wow. Another NUR in WA!! Although the other one is Marcus's M-Spec. Are you going to take it out on a few cruises? I would love to see this beast in the flesh!! Looks fantastic mate. Sooooo jealous
  13. I'm looking for pictures of the Explosive body kit for the S2 R33. The only photos I could find were of Liquid Ice's car, and only a few taken from the side. Any more would be appreciated. Rhys
  14. Looks good! Has the engine bay and door jars been done as well? A closed door respray just doesnt do it for me. Having said that though, the colour looks fantastic!
  15. Gah, I feel like Bubble Tea now. Thanks guys Andrew, any news on when the next one will be?
  16. Its pretty easy really. Just get a sharp punch and a hammer, hit the punch into the screw far enough to get a large enough "wall" then hit it across. This pushed the screw around and undoes it. Same if your trying to undo any other stripped bolt. When we did this, we grabbed the grinder and ground a groove through them so we could put them back in with a screw driver easily. Good luck!
  17. Marco!! I was waiting for you to show up When are you getting back into civilisation? I really want to see your lasted wave of modifications. And I've found some globe holders for you.
  18. I just used degreaser, water, then normal car wash soap on mine, got them perfect. (They're white, so it shows up badly!!) Personally I think it turned out quite well!!
  19. As far as Nissans go, most parts fit most cars. So it shouldnt be a nightmare to fit up, however it most likely wont be easy. You will need the headlights, bonnet, front bar, reo bar, and custom fenders. The bonnet catch most likely wont match up so you will need to customise that, the bonnet hinges MAY need customising. As for everything else, new holes may need drilling. The best thing to do would be to take a tape measure and measure up all these things between the two cars to see if its plausable. Good luck!
  20. Yeh Kinh, your right! Kelli had to cancel, so I'm stuck here all day Got a full tank of fuel and everything!!! Next time Andrew, for sure.

  24. Hmmm. Pity I'm going away for the weekend, otherwise I'd come down and give you a hand. I've installed all my sound system, and it's really not that hard. Once you know the basics it's all good. Give it a go, and if you get stuck give me a call on 0431681965 and I'll try to help you out. Good luck mate!! You get a much better sense of achievement when you do something yourself. That and it's cheaper
  25. The unit will use the sensors that are already in the car, but I think others like the G-metre needs to be added and connected up
