  1. I drive an NA It screams at high RPM I love the sound That is no excuse to "flat stick" it everywhere. Do you even let it warm up?? To be honest... I hate servicing Skylines that arent looked after properly. Like yours. Btw, what the common speed you "flat stick" it to? 120kms? 130kms?
  2. Thankfully I've never been tailgated by a cop, marked or unmarked. They seem to pull me over as soon as they see me... I have been tailgated by dickheads though, so I generally just sit 10kms under the limit. Nice as safe, but it pisses them off which makes them want to overtake you. Soonest possible oppertunity they will, and you're free again. Speeding up is the WORST thing to do, you've just seen the result. I personally wouldnt fight it in court because I cannot see anyone siding with the "hoon" who was still doing 202ms over the limit. However, I'm only an 18 year old mechanic with very little life experience, so I'm not the best person to listen too. Good luck though, double demerits suck. AS a general rule of thumb, I just dont drive. And if I have to, I'll drive mum's protege. Slow, inconspicuous, and without P-plates NO ONE is going to pull you over!
  3. Mate, your car is mint!! I was with you from Freo to Riverton. Nice car. Mel, great cruise! Pity I wasnt there from the beginning, but at least I got there eventually.
  4. I've got a mate coming in an S13. Real drift-spec, but still a nice car. Looking forward to it! Pity I'll still have my car
  5. I remember locking the brakes and almost hitting a tree at an undisclosed speed because I was trying to keep up with everyone else... That being said, I love hills runs!
  6. By similar you mean cheap copies? Cos I'd stay away from cheap knock-offs mate.
  7. Hopefully it's the fuse, and not a break in the wire like mine has. If the fuse doesn't fix it, take it to an Auto Elec who'll fix it easily.
  8. Exhaust shops should sell them. Car sounds better without a silencer imo. I'd love to see what he'd say about my car, you can hear it 3 streets away. EVERYONE hears me enter the tunnel, whether I'm thrashing it or not! Your lucky you didnt get a sticker, having an exhaust system on your car isnt illegal! How loud is it?
  9. The coolant leaking from around the exhaust manifold may be coming from a heater hose (lets hope so!) because if it has blown a head gasket its going to cost a fair bit to replace. It wont e worth $9k thats for sure. Noisy gearboxes are common, depending on how loud it is, I wouldnt worry about it soo much. As for reliability, I have a 93 R33 GTS with 15*,000kms on the clock (Its for sale, the link is below) and it has been perfect for the whle year I've owned it. I've replaced the front pads once (inevitable), serviced it a few times, and replaced the front shocks becase I f**ked them up when I installed the lowered springs. Other then that, it has a TINY weep from the pwr steering reservoir which I think has stopped since I tightened the clamps, and a faint weep from the rear extension housing on the gearbox, again nothing to worry about. Considering we're doing $2000+ worth of work on cars NEWER then mine at work, I think I made the right choice!! Check the engine, and buy it!
  10. Hi Mel, I'm Rhys. Feel free to put my name to a face
  11. From what I've seen, Fibrevision will make it fit perfectly. I cant find any imperfections in the fitment of SN1P3R's Bomax kit, and that was made by Fibrevision and fitted by a group of mates. I'm pretty sure they paint it as well
  12. Or the tail lights that are so faded they look like they're headlights. Lets not forget the Ford Meteor that came into work that was running so rich, the entire back end was covered in carbon and the numberplate was only readable 0.5m away. Then there are the Falcodores with such huge oil leaks, I'm surprised they ever get traction with all that oil leaking onto the road.
  13. Do it James! You know you want to!!
  14. Mine does the same thing, and its the synchos going. I wouldnt worry about it, too much money pulling it all apart just to fix that. If the box goes, fix it, but mine has been doing it all year and it still works fine any other time
  15. Talk to Ryan (NISZILLA). He just put Impul side and rear on his car, both genuine. He also put the GT-R wing on it like you want to!
  16. The old folks who can't drive over 60km/h in their 3 cylinder Charades who complain when us young hoons "flog" it off the lights in our stupidly-loud "hoon cars". I shift at 3000rpm and still leave the 1.5L shit boxes behind. And yet... I'm the bad guy?
  17. Just saw yet another "hoon law" article. Almost every clip was shot at Barbagallo either at the drifts or at Powercruise, and interviews of not-so-intelligent people saying how they don't think burnouts are illegal. They were also talking about the poor 16yo girl who died in the 180SX crash. What about the 20+ people died on the road over the Christmas season? As far as I know, only 2 people have died in a performance car in the last 6 months or so, one was doing the speed limit, yet was still made out to be the bad guy.
  18. Nah, the fact that "hoons" take priorities over murderers is GREAT!! Anytime we have paint sniffing natives at work (I'm not racist) we just tell the cops there is also someone doing burnouts in the carpark. Then they take the 2 minute drive from the cop shop and move them along. /sarcasm Ok, it takes 40 minutes, they need to get their priorities right, but thats for another thread. Honestly, cops trying to race you is just f**ked up. Why waste time, money, and effort to encourage people to do something dangerous in the attempt to "save" lives? Try going after the dickhead I saw the yesterday fish tailing up Mirrabooka Avenue in a red Ford AU Falcon who ended up doing a full 180. Imo THAT is more dangerous then 2 cars (one driven by a cop) doing 140 in a 100 zone! Also, if you get hoonlawed 3 times, you deserve to be shot! Sorry, but thats just stupid!
  19. Have you done anything to the car lately? When I pulled out the plug for the door open buzzer, my windows stopped working. I plugged it back in and took out the next one and everything worked.
  20. Party with all mates. Get to sit around listening to their stories about being at uni and stupidly long holidays, while I think about being an apprentice, being paid shit, and only having 4 weeks off a year... But really, I'm looking forward to it!
  21. Did they even drive the car? Surely they would have noticed it was overheating? Might be time to take it back Guy.
  22. Don't worry, I knew the risk I was taking when I wrote that. Simple cat swap and silencer and it's legal again.
  23. Have you checked the thermostat and radiator? First things to check when a car over heats. Take the radiator out and send it to Natrad for cleaning, then replace the thermostat. If it still overheats then there is a more serious problem. Hasn't blown a head gasket has it?
  24. There is a law saying it cant be too loud, however SN1P3R's car passed the pits 3 times with her exhaust before she got stickered for it being too loud. My exhaust has no turbo, cat, or any real muffler, and the resonator and cannon do sweet f**k all to muffle the sound. Therefore, you can hear it 3 streets away at high RPM. I am yet to be stickered for my OBVIOUSLY illegal exhaust.
  25. Could be the radiator cap. If the spring is stuck, it wont control the pressure inside the system, and allow it to build up until something goes pop. Worth looking into
