It's Summer, It's Hot, And I Have No Air Con
Mayuri Krab replied to Blinky101's topic in Western Australia
Sounds like the temperature sensors are screwed or something... I prefer freezing cold to boiling hot, with coldness at least you can always counter it by wearing more cloth. With heat, not much more can be done besides driving around naked I guess... -
Help Me Blow Money On A New Pc Build!
Mayuri Krab replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in PC & Games Discussion
^ What he said. The budget intel boards are dry on features &/or OC abilities while the "exterme" intel branded boards are fine, but there are cheaper (& better) alternatives avaliable from others like Asus & Gigabyte. -
Windows 7 - What Do You Guys Think Of It?
Mayuri Krab replied to KR4-GTR's topic in PC & Games Discussion
So far none at all. Which is why I said the 64bit compatibility surprised me, I was expecting it to be crap considering I run a bunch of old (& newish) Jap & Chinese games, but once installed even those ran with no problems at all on Win 7 64bit. I set up a dual boot with 32bit XP just for that purpose but currently that OS isn't being used at all, & plus I'm used to the 5 second boot up from win 7 I get from my SSD, the boot up time with XP on a standard HDD in compassion has now become unbearable... About the only problems I had was that some of my Jap games (Fate Stay Night is one I remembered) needed me to run the setup file as admin & I had to set the region for non-union code programs to Jap before it installed. Otherwise no problems at all. -

The Cops Are Ramping It Up - Leave The Skyline At Home!
Mayuri Krab replied to Spunky Munky's topic in Victoria
Seriously if by the end of primary school a kid still don't understand the fact that its is NOT a good idea to jump randomly onto a road where there is a possibility of cars approaching then we should just let natural selection do its job. I know a family friend's stupid kid (who's already in high school) ran onto the road without looking, got hit by a approaching van & broke his leg but because the van wasn't breaking any laws (was just traveling normally down the road at 50km/h), the driver didn't have to pay any compensation, which I believe is the right outcome. This whole idea of always blaming the driver due to some stupid kid jumping out infront, even if the driver was not doing anything illegal is really starting to look like the Chinese traffic laws, where in China there is a law about unconditional compensation for the pedestrian from the driver. Where even if pedestrian were 100% in the wrong the driver still have to pay a set amount of compensation to the pedestrian. EDIT: You guys seem to have it tough in the eastern states, so far I haven't seen much Cop activity around my area at all. -

Windows 7 64bit's compatibility with older software surprised me quit a bit. So far all my old Jap & Chinese Games runs fine, my dual boot with XP is not really being used at all. Thumbs up for 7. -
+1 My car doesn't have one & haven't had any engine related problems with the 2.5 years I owned it. I use my watch for the 15 to 30secs timing
-
Keep us posted on how you go, as I'm interested in doing something like that to my car as well in the near future. Also the b&n shifter, is that one of those manual auto shift things?

Double Demerits Christmas/new Year.
Mayuri Krab replied to Tony de Wonderful's topic in Western Australia
I'm going up to Exmouth with my parents during the Christmas break & originally I was going to take my car but after careful consideration I have decided to take the Camry instead Also isn't it in the Eastern States where a Red P-plater can lose their license straight away from just 1 speeding fine (even if its just <10km/h over)... -

I'm not going to be driving my car during this period. Don't want to risk a yellow, as the only times I seem to get pulled over is during public holiday times. -
^ Sounds to me he's just being an ass & wants to force you to pay the $1k for the "magic" tune. When my mum went to NSW due to work, she brought her old POS 1/2 dead VN commodore with her & that thing passed the pits on 1st go & it had a non-function CAT. Sorry to hear about this.

Soooo they use planes to catch people speeding... whats next? Use F16 jet fighters to take out people hooning in the streets?

F**k!!! I'm geting VPN set up then...

Some one at work recently crashed his car due to curise control malfunction... & its a FORD as well!!!

+1 The owner of "Car A" can do what ever mod they want to it to make it look like "Car B" as long as they still label it as Car A when selling it (or label it as "Car A" modded to look like "Car B"). Whether what other people think about making a car (usually lower spec) to look like a different model is gay or stupid etc etc is irrelvant.

Piggy back is fine if you don't plan on upgrading the turbo (or high flowing the stock one). Also $100 is pretty cheap for a piggy back, my 2nd hand SAFC 2 costed around $300ish. On a side note, do you have an upgraded intercooler of some sort? I would get that as well when you are installing the boost contoller & upping the boost.

Sick And Tired Of Fearing Cops Like A Criminal!
Mayuri Krab replied to Spunky Munky's topic in Victoria
Like others have already said, get rid of the BOV, put shield on PODs, remove the hand controller for the PFC & put a metal type bonnet on. Or you can try & move to WA Cops here (atleast around my area & the areas I usually visit) don't seem to pull over imports that much. The 2.5 years I had my car (2 years where on P) I have only being pulled over 3 times & they were all during the Easter Break (so lesson learnt is don't drive around in a skyline during the Easter Break... LOL). But None of them had bothered to check under the bonnet & they were mainly interested in seeing if I had my rego sticker on... The other times I have driven alongside cop cars & I don't think they even noticed me. -
Does the revs go up everytime u turn the wheel or only does it when you turn the wheel while the car is stationary? If its the latter, my car does that as well.
-
So did you take your OS drive out from your PC & installed it on a different PC & reinstalled windows using that PC? If so, that will give u a continuous reboot thing when you plug that HDD back to your PC. Same thing happened to me. EDIT: Also the other stuff you are describing could be the PSU playing up as a dying PSU can cause all sorts of random failures.

Check power steering levels?
-
How do you define "use them?" What about all the people that drive around in M3s & AMG mercs (& other much more powerful cars than a GTS-T) & "never really use them" Same here. I consider the occasional squirt from 0 to 60 (or 100 depending on speed limit) enjoying the car, seeing how I won't be able do it on my parents' cars (slow ass Corolla & Camry).
-
Family friend is like that, they have several shops opened so they use their (double) garage as a storage shed for the goods they import (cheaply) from china instead for their car (which are all crap old camrys with faded paints already so it doesn't really matter anyway.) I park my car on the drive way as well, coz the garage is used as a storage shed for crap as well.

Follow this guide. Basically 1) Exhuast 2) Intake 3) Boost controller + upboost 4) ECU upgrade
-
I did the exhuast upgrade on my car for minor performance gains not for show, if anything I tried to make it more "stealther" compared to b4, as my current turbo back exhuast with high flow CAT is quiter compared to the exhuast the car came with, which was a stock pipe with a Canon on the back. For one thing, you don't need to be doing illegal stuff with a high performance car, its the same thing with people driving around M3s, AMGs & using them as a home to work car. Also theres not much price difference between a GTST or GTS, so my idea was that that you might as well just get the turbo model.
