Means you have being on your Ps for over 6month & you are allowed to drive between the hours of midnight to 5am while the red Ps can't. I found most is people in crap/sh*t or bad condition sports cars that trys to drag with me all the time. I lost count of how many time some crapo ricer tried to drag me. While people in well maintained sports cars drive normally, like this time I was heading to Curtin, at the set of lights, I got next to a S15 (which looked in great condition) but had a really loud exhaust. The road after the lights had the 2 lanes turn into 1 & I thought "oh great, this guy is probably gonna floor it as soon as the light is green, so I better just let him pass 1st." But to my suprise he took off really slow (slower than me! who was at that time already taking off like a granny) & let me go infront instead. He must have thought that I might do something stupid & didn't want to risk his car getting into a accident.

Hey people, I was just wondering if anyone knows any places that can make some customized stickers around Perth? Its nothing fancy, I just want to make some stickers that says "SABER SPEC" & "SABER KNIGHT CLASS" in standard white letters for use on the rear side windows & rear window of my car. I asked a couple of "car" friends, but none of them had any ideas & all they could tell me was shops that sells branded stickers (like Nismo ones) which I'm not interested in since my car is stock & I don't plan on modding it. Skim reading through these post, I gotta say most of your mums/dads knows their stuff (well at least more than my folks). My mum don't have a clue of what a turbo is nor does she care (she is the "its got a engine & 4 wheels, its a car" type of person), & my dad always thought that turbos are meant to give you better fuel efficiency... so if you throw a turbo to a jazz, you will decrease its fuel usage from ~6L/100km to like 5L/100km Don't know where he got that info from...

With every minute of driving I'm doing... 65% looking at the road (proper driving) 20% looking at the side of the road for speed cam/cop with speed gun/cop in general 15% checking speedo so I don't get done for speeding. Exhausting...

Same here, I'm always on the look out for speed cams & every time I pass by one, I get paranoid that my speedo is not working right & I might be doing 61km/h instead of 60km/h as show on the speedo. So far so good...

I just showed my mum the car I was gonna get & she says she likes the look of it, especially the tail lights. As for the engine being turbo... well all she knew was that the car had a engine... like all cars are suppose to have...

Oh thats good news, , I'll be off my Ps by then. & considering I just got my car back from the panel shop after 2 month, don't want be that I just got it back & then get told that I can't drive it anymore.

I just got my car back from the panel shop today After about 2 month of no transport (& hence spending most of my uni semster break at home ), I finally got my transport back & just in time too, my smart rider just ran out of $, no need to recharge it anymore XD. My car's beautiful face is back to normal

Well I'm still on my 1st P, only did my licensing after year 1 Uni. & on my 10month on my P I got no fines, & the main car I drove was the R33. So I think I can handle the R33 fine.

The other thing to keep in mind with a JP or US PS3 is that they are 110v & not he 220/240v we have, so you need a transformer of some sort. Did your ps2 games ran fine on the AU PS3? Coz from a article I read on a PC mag, they said that the PAL PS3s have the worst PS2 backward compatibility of the 3 regions, as Sony removed a hardware chip that was designed to run the PS2 games & instead switched the PS3 to software emulation mode for ps2 games in order to save cost & this resulted in killing the backward compatibility of ps2 games.

XD btw, I thought the VIC road rules were that the new power restrictions only effected the ppl who got their Ps after the date the restrictions came in...

So anyone know, when these power bans will come into affect (some guys at uni were saying that its planned for the end of the year)? or is it still in the "planning" stages, as I can't find any info on the WA licensing website. Hope it only affects the drivers who got their Ps after the effective date, otherwise I got no car to drive ... just like now...

Just watched it, the other thing that I got me interested is when they mentioned that they are planning on banning P platers from driving any car that is a V8, turbo or supercharger. To me all this means is if these laws comes into affect we will just see more "tough" guys hooning around in 1/2 dying v6 commos (or similar tough v6s) from the prehistoric era & doing stupid things. as if there weren't enough of them already...

If they do change the laws to those simlar to the eastern states, I hope they follow it like the other states where only the new drivers after the date of the new laws is affected & the drivers before it would not. I don't want to go back driving my mum's mummobile, & she doesn't want to drive my line. Man the bad news just keeps on coming, 1st the government already pushing on further to test the content filtering to the ISPs & now this...

I think thats a bit much, I think the common 2.4 & 3.0L Camrys are ok for a 1st car, if the driver is a d*ck then even a <100kw 4cyl car is dangerous, example I can think of is this guy I know, he drives a sh*t xcel & doing over 130km/h on the 80km freeway... moron. The other thing, if say these laws like come into affect sometime in the near future, would it only affect the ppl getting their Ps after that time or would it affect people b4 it? Theres no way in hell, I'm selling my turbo 33 & downgrading to a crapo hatchback (man I hate hatchbacks...).

Go to Oz modchips, they have all the info you need, & I'm pretty sure theres plenty of their mod installers around Sydney or you can check your local newspaper for local mod chip installers (in the WA newspapers the modchip section is just before the computers section in the paper). Theres no shortage of 360 modchips, in fact its the 1st next gen console to get modded.

Yeah, I would say thats about right, even a dual graphics card system will rarely chew up more than 600w on full load, but theres more to that then simple watts. The main thing with psu is that no PSU is 100% efficient, general ones are around 70% efficiency & the good ones are ~80%, however even this various slightly depending on factors like load, efficiency etc etc. Someone here whos a electircal degree can probably explain better. Also, like many other things in the computer industry, many "cheapo" powersupply "fake" the wattage rating in a way that they PSU can only sustain the calimed power output for a limited about of time b4 dying. One example I can think of is the crappy 430w PSU that came with the Soprano case, it really is a rebranded 350w PSU & testing has shown that the PSU quickly failed when its loaded closer to that limit of 430w. If your 480w is a good brand PSU with a high amp rating on the 12v rail (this is very important), then it should be fine, otherwise consider getting a higher wattage one with a good amp output on the 12v rail (like the cosiar one, forgot the model #... think theres a 550w model & a 620w model).

Hopefully these games comes to the PC; the only gaming system I need ... & maybe the Wii for when family friend's come over & stuff...

Well if its the 9800GX2, thats becially two 8800GT cores stuck on one PCB, so its like SLI on 1 card. Last time I checked the price was $650 - $800 depending on what brand & where you buy it from. A friend bought a generic branded one for $650 The other card I can think that costs $800+ would be the the new GTX280. But like pkblade said, the 4870 is the best $ for performance card atm.

Crysis is more GPU bound then CPU, its being shown that even crysis doesn't take much advantage of quad cpus. As for playing on Ultra details, it depends on the resolution you are playing on, even on quad video card setups, crysis would drop to <15fps during certain areas with the res set up to 1920x1200 or above.

I notice this a lot as well. Also I never really understood whats so great about getting smoke out of your tires, smells awful & it just means you have to blow more $ on getting new tires soon, when that $ could be used elsewhere.

Depends on your situation I guess. For me its the line & a computer is all I need. 21, still with my parents (& my grandma too ) , I cbb to move out (although if I do & declare independence, I can get $ from center link...) & they don't want me to neither (they don't trust me living in a shared house). So when I finish uni & get a proper job (hopefully), I'll just pay them $ & buy my room, & when they build the new house (they have already bought a new block of land up north), I'll just buy this current house from them hopefully @ a very "discounted" price For me, I'm happy just buying this current house from my parents when they move to the new house, as this current house is plenty for me already. All the rest of the $ can go to getting some better cars & coms.
