  1. ^^^ Yeah, live in Tuart hill & my common trip (b4 accident) include the dog swamp shopping center, Inaloo shopping center & that Caltex petrol station in Morly. Hopefully I can get the car running again b4 new semester of uni starts, can't bare the thought of taking pubic transport
  2. I finally got time around to take some pictures of the damage. Dam exams On the bright side, the other guy's insurance company has agreed to authorise the repairs Now I need to tow the car back to Osborne park again, when it just got towed back from Osborne Park... Does Panel shops repair stuff like the control arm? Or do I need to go to a mech for that?
  3. Man that totally suckx, even sony ditched the stupid & lame region control on its PS3. What about the other mod chips? ie the argon, d2pro etc etc? I'm considering modding my wii (after my car is fixed) & its got the new version of the wii motherboard where the wii key would not work. To me a console without a mod is about as useful as a useless pos
  4. A DVD has 576 lines image, the resolution of PAL DVDs are 720x576 (& NTSC DVDs are 720*480), so 576 vertical display resolution, as all sources always quote the vertical display resolution, instead of the horizontal display res (just like 720 is from 1280x720, & 1080 is from 1920x1080). It can be 576i or 576p depending on wether you set your dvd player to output progressive signal or not (using Component output). Now there are some DVD players (& all Blue Ray players) that have HDMI ouptut & through this it can upscale the 576 image to 720/1080 & filter the image through a hardware digital filter & the resulting picture looks better compared if you directly let the TV expand the image (through other type of connections; composite (ie RCA), S-Video & Component). A 576i/p (DVD) res is SD & not HD. 720 & 1080 are HD res.
  5. I don't have any personal experiences with that model (I'm still using the 1st LCD I bought 3 years ago, a standard 19" Samsung ), but from the reviews I have read, it got a pretty decent score, my friend who recently bulit a new com, bought that monitor & his pretty happy with it. Asus in general is a pretty decent brand, so you should be pretty safe going with them.
  6. They should put a page like that in the manuals of the following cars: lancers, civcs, excels & 318s. God I hate those excessively riced up garbage
  7. Oh yeah! $ saved there At least its good to see theres no turbo ban for P plates coming to WA yet...
  8. Huh? The high end Panasonic, Samsung, LG plasma panels are all 1920x1080 res. My parents got a 50" Panasonic Plasma thats true 1080p,although we don't have anything that high to use it on yet... , all they watch is SAT TV & pirated chinese DVDs that encoded in vcd res (320*240) which looks horrible on it... , my Wii is the only thing that puts the TV to decent use, unit I get a PS3. Please explain in more detail here, for a 1080p LCD vs 1080p Plasma, they both have a native 1920x1080 res so a Blue Ray disc would display in full detail on either one. In general, LCD tends to have shaper pictures while Plasma's tend to have more smoother fast motion picture. As for the burn in problem on Plasma panels, its not that common anymore (it was a major problem for the 1st couple of generations of Plasma panels), although still be a luck of the draw I guess. A friend have got this really generic cheap chinese made SD plasma panel (852*480 res) & all he watch on it is SAT TV where the chinese channels all have a still logo on screen, & he has being using that TV for 2years now & no burn in yet.
  9. ^^^ Thats really up to you, the obvious question is, do you find your 22" LCD big enough? From where you are sitting & stuff. Theres usually very little technical differences that is very noticeable (stuff like pixel response time, contrast etc etc) between 22" & 24" inch besides the screen size (obviously) and the screen resolution (1680x1050 vs 1920x1200), except if you go into the very high end ones (designed for pro photo editors) where some of LCDs uses a full 8bit panel instead of the 6bit found in most consumer levels (basically it can display more shades of colour). I guess the only 'technical' reason I would go for a 24" over 22" (other than its bigger) is for the native resolution, if you plan on watching 1080p HD movies (like blue ray) then 24" native res allows you to display full 1920x1080 res of HD without shrinking it. But then again, I doubt you will see the extra detail of 1080p compared to 720p. You only really start to notice the extra details when you are watching it side by side on a 42" or larger LCD/plasma TV If it were me though, I probably stick with the 22" for now as they are the best size for $ at the moment, & get a 24" until they dropped down in price more Or I would get another 22" later on down the track & use them in dual screen (if your desk can fit that is...) Hope this helps. Oh btw is your LCD the Asus VW222U?
  10. Ah, the P35 DS3, thats a fine board you got there. This combined with the E8400's excellent OC ability, people have being getting easy 3.6 to 3.8ghz speed using stock cooling alone & zoom past 4ghz using after market coolers. & yes I watch Good game, I happened to tumbled on it once while I was testing all the channels on my USB TV tuner, and I have since set a recording schedule for it. I think its taking a break right now? Also I just noticed from one of your earlier posts, you mentioned of waiting for a 2ms 24", with current generation of LCD monitors the LCD pixel response time have mainly became a marketing term (kinda like the watt rating on speakers, the mega pixel myth of digital cameras just to name a few). The pixel response time only mattered very much in the early generations of LCD panels where you get a response time of ~25ms or more which would result in noticeable blur during fast motion scenes. Due to the fact that there is not set standard where manufacturers make their ms rating. Most (if not all) of the 2ms LCDs are rated from the gtg (Gray to Gray) time while some good 8ms are rating from the black to black time, and to add more confusion to the equation, others claim their LCD's response time based on white to white, & theres also a black to white time I believe. I personally have not seen a 2ms LCD that is measured using anything BUT gtg. Since its easier for a LCD pixels to change from gray to gray, compared to black to black or white to white it will get a faster response time (kinda of like how you can get 1000w+ PMPO rated $10 speakers compared to 400w RMS rated $1000+ speakers). Truth is, anything 8ms & under should be good for 99% of the applications you throw at it. Other LCD stats that have become more marketing than real indication of performance is the contrast ratio, with most insanely high contrast ratio LCD reporting the "Dynamic Contrast range", & you will often find LCD with lower claimed contrast ratios getting a better result than those insanely high claimed contrast ratios of other LCDs. The best way to pick an LCD is still go to the shop & have a look yourself, play a various of high motion videos through it, let your eyes be the judge as its the only thing that matters.
  11. Press F8 during POST to go into safe mode
  12. Tell me about it, and I thought that time having a brid sh*t on my hand the moment I got out of car was bad...
  13. I've being trying to get a copy since last week , anyone know when new shipment will arrive? I'm keen on trying it out.
  14. Nice system, & you made the right choice going to Dual instead of a Quad, considering pretty much no game benfits that much from more than 2 cores (crysis included) anyway. Quick question, much Gigabyte mobo did u get? the P35 DS series? & 1TB of space , I'm not the only one with a 1TB setup XD Assian Creed Bio shock UT3 Stranglehold (this is the only game besides surpme commander that I found actually uses all 4 cores of my Quad ) ... The Phsx card is pretty much next to useless at this stage, and currently Nvida & AMD (bought out ATI) are working on using a secondary video card to do hardware physics processing, ATI have already showed using their demo that a cheap ATI X1600 video card is already about ~2-3x more powerful than that physics anyway. If you are going to watch true HD (1920x1080) movies on the com, then go with the 24" as their native res can support HD without shrinking it, as the native res of most 22" are 1680x1050, however I doubt It would really matter that much. & no Duke Nukem 3d is not out, by a long shot
  15. Thats still $2-$5 of money... , & Yes I'm a cheap skate, hence the name Mayuri KRAB. & if you think thats bad; last time my mum went through picking trash from the garabge bin, when she accidently dropped 50c in there. "Me gotta make some $, gotta love $, gotta keep the $, gotta not spend the $" = my usual wake up song.
  16. pphheeww, I just past my my 6th month (as of 4th of June) . & I usually drive around @ 2 or 3am from bullcreek to Tuart hill after a lan session @ friend's house on Fri or Sat. Do I have to go & buy new Plates again... wasting $, the $ for those plates better be tax refundable Are they going to bring the no turbo rule for Ps from the east too? But I think the 6 month for L rule is good, may be a bit too long (is the new log book 50hr now? I'm still referring to the old 25hr) which took me ~4month to do PROPERLY. I know too many people with fake log books & got it all done in about a wk or so.
  17. I'm stuck on 4, & I quit. Quote from the famous: "If something is hard to do, then its not worth doing"

I'm up for ideas for both arcade or sim (got an old Logitech momo wheel).
  19. After a # of phone calls, someone finally answered the phone, & gave me their claim #. Guess I'll call their insurance tomorrow & see what they say about it. "Gentlemen, to victory!!!" On a side note, that guy never seemed interested in asking whether I have claimed insurance or my claim #, could that mean because his got full com insurance & hence he doesn't care about it seeing his getting his car fixed neither way? Was just wondering...
  20. Still waiting for him to gave me the dam insurance claim #. Messaged him this morning & his reply was that his now in Melbourne & gave me his home phone # to call Appears to me that guy run off to Melbourne to hide, & left this whole pile of sh*t for his old man to get sorted. Called his house phone a # of times & left messages, but no replies yet. Their "hiding for as long as possibles tactics" is start to piss me off Will try & call again tomorrow & if they hide out any longer, might just pay them a visit this weekend. I knew I said at the 1st post, that I won't rant on the thread, but this is just getting stupid now... being keeping myself sane today by watching all 24 eps of Fate Stay Night & eating a crap load of cookies & cream ice cream .
  21. +1 to what 25GTT said. His probably gonna have to look at upgrading his ram aswell, pretty sure most of the motherboards that is AGP is also DDR (unless you got one of those Asrock hybrid boards that has like both DDR & DDR2 slots), while all current mobos now uses DDR 2 (or DDR3)
  22. Sorry lucy Toyota Rav 4 I think his just lazy, & his more focused on going to his Melbourne trip (which he said his going next week) than the accident. He gave me his old man's phone #, probably will be badgering him, if there's still no result within a week. On the plus side, His vehicle look alot more ed up than mine, his whole front bumper came off due to the impact. Guess the seemly tough 4WDs aren't as tough as it seems. Skyline - 1, Rav 4 - Nill.
  23. ^^^ that gets worse especially when a truck does that. A while back, we went to Broom with another family in a rented sh*t box van (thanks alot mum...) & going on route 1, there was a truck going about 80km/h in a 110km/h, but as soon as we went to the other lane (incoming traffic lane, the line was dotted) it f*cken speeds up, & since the van was a rented from a cheapo place & it was loaded & it was a pos we had to break & go back behind him coz it had sh*t all acceleration. As soon as we are behind him, he f*cken slows down to 80km/h again >.
