anyone seen on channel 10 the ads for mark loves sharon premiers next monday? well...i had a feeling i recognised the chic from autosalon, and sure enough, she's the leading dancer from the glamazons that always perform at the autosalon shows don't know if anybody cares but you know when it takes you forever to pin piont where you know a face from and you finally work it out and you feel great? well i thought i'd share this LOL as it took me a while

WELCOME! what area are you now in melbourne? i'm new also sort of, new that i haven't been on any cruises yet to meet ppl so may catch ya at the next one i got a few mechanical things to sort out on my car, wanna do them for me !? lol
-
Hey lucky enough i happen to have both. my r33 series 1 since i was 19 and this year i just picked up a MKII SR (not quite an XR6 but identical little brother wannabe). unfortunately, i have to report that fuel even for the SR is ridiculous! can't imagine how much more the turbo would chew up on. Previously my daily driver was on gas, so $30 - 35 would cover me for a tank, but now i'm paying $100 average a week on basic normal fuel. --whereas on Saturday night i filled the R33 with 95% good stuff and it only cost me $70 bucks. i drive the skyline much harder than the ford and i still get more km out of a tank! overall, i say keep the skyline.? as for comfort and practical use the ford is heaps better for me, but i didn't buy my skyline for practical use, i brought it as a project to do up and now i have i'm just enjoying driving it much more than the ford. if you can afford both, and over time keep working on the skyline, then do it!!

I still stick by my guns!... if you aren't a competitor or a full on RC champion who spends crazy $$$ on tiny cars then eBay is still great. I guess it depends on what you want out of an RC car!? I didn't know if i'd enjoy the hobby or if they'd just be something i stop using after the novilty wears off, so i decided on the cheaper option and if i loved them enough to race them i could upgrade later. If they were just something i'd get sick of then whats the point i'd rather spend $500 on something for my real car so the eBay option weighed up better for me and they have been awesome, and being so cheap i was able to get two for $200 so i can race against my mates cheaper than you can pick up a 'real' RC car for. "the fakes are great!" i got them last November and have had no problems with either of them. I've only broken one small plastic part and by visiting the hobbyman they have no problems selling me stuff and over time you can upgrade also

I got two from eBay - best purchase ever! The stores i checked out first were way too expensive, i picked up my two for $100 each brand new. The biggest spend was buying drift wheels, a second shell and extra batteries for longer play, (about another $100 all up) but i've never regretted getting them. My artist mate did one up with paint and stickers to resemble his car exactly (S15) and mines the same as my R33 so regularily when we go out cruising we take these bad boys with us! another friend i know has a nitro powered car but it spends more time in his garage fixing the damn thing than out with us as its so powerful everytime he drives it he smashes it and you can't drift so its not as much fun i think my suggestion - definately go eBay!!! (or if you want to see the ones i picked up off ebay meet us some time when we go cruising with them which is usually every week or two in the south east Waverley area. pm me if you want)

alright call me silly, but wont people just buy the BP and other stuff as soon as they lower it only 2 cent lower than the other petrol stations? therefore, driving it up again really soon after we boycott them!? and can someone please help me work out what 'NZ' and 'Australia' petrol stations are?

Thanks all for the ideas. That pic is sweet, just the sort of thing i'd be looking for!! For those that don't know me, you may have seen my R33 around; , its airbrushed in a 'frozen' theme with a creature thing going on...so when all those people at autosalon were saying "oh is that clouds or water or some s#%t" well NO IT IS NOT, the car is actually FROZEN!! :-) thats why i'm so keen on this idea. was even considering taking a snow bunni or two up with me if they were interested for a seperate shoot, but my car is only a 2 seater so i'd have to find somebody else who's keen to do the same sort of thing... i'll wait a little longer and start googling and searching snow report websites and stuff, making sure to leave a few weekends open for the opportunity if possible. i'll keep you posted with pics if i end up going later this year. here's some of my ride currently and you can see what sort of picture i've got in my mind of what i want :-)

Hey all, I've been thinking about this since last year when I finished modifying my R33, and hanging for the snow season to begin so i can go for a cruise and photoshoot somewhere....but i don't know anything about the snow season and was hoping someone on here could help? When does the season start? where should i go? Are there areas that are pretty clear for photoshoots or is it all full of cars in the carparks all the time? or is it better to just find a spot with a background and pull up on a lookout or something and hope for the best? what are chains like and when do you need them and would they do any harm? Like I said, i'm pretty clueless with this stuff but any light on the subject would be awesome. Does anybody go up there regularly and think a cruise could be a good idea? thanks heaps

Scariest thing ever happened yesterday when i took my R33 out for a drive for the first time in about a month! On princess hwy I could smell something strange, like rubber, as though burn outs had just been left by someone as i was passing through the intersection, but the smell got worse and it was coming from me!... next to my arm, coming from my back seats (i have 3 x pdx amps in the rear seats) there was THICK RED SMOKE pouring out from under my 1.1000 mono block amp!! aarrrrgghhh electrical fire! :-( And my back seats and boot are all made of mdf and fibreglass so i was just hoping she wouldn't catch fire, and i didn't have any screw drivers on me to pull my boot apart to take out the fuses. Left her there, found a screwdriver fixed it up, pulled everything apart and the main fuse for that amp was already blown so how could power still be getting to it? and why was it thick red smoke? At home this morning, I pulled everything apart and can't find any evidence of damage except the amp stinks. I'll be taking it back to the audio shop today on my lunch break, but i just wanted to know if this has happened to anybody before, what they did, and what it was? if not, i'll keep you posted with what the shop says.

The only feedback i've heard from people with them is that you wouldn't want to be over 6 foot tall! it's managable, but for tall people that its your every day driver or you're in and out all the time it can be pretty annoying - so i hear...?
-
18.795 on my 3rd attempt; and that is brilliant cause i got a subway roll in my prefered hand
-
I work in basketball! -manage, admin, coach, play, day/night/weekend that's everything i do probably why i haven't seen many cruises since i've signed up; always a bloody game on

I've had some serious dramas with bodykits! Wasted so much money in the process, started with a 'Suborn' bar back in the day when i first got my car - stupid choice that was! Poorly made and cracked and wonky and looked shite, then went to the Veilside put on by Jetspeed - another stupid choice! The bar was so poorly made and didn't match up at all. Not only did it look bad, the quality was shocking and left and right weren't even the same dimensions :-p I used to like the look of the veilside but as said above you need a tuff car to pull it off. So after a few years, I finally came to the greatest decision i've ever made!.....COMPLETE CUSTOM KIT! It's the only way, i recommend it to everybody if you have the time and cash and design ideas. You gotta know what you want and take it to someone that can make it work. Freddy from Topstage did my whole thing www.topstage.com.au

Had my mate to bluetooth it to me last night, he's got a crappy phone and really you can't tell from the video/s whats going on...see the lights, they dissapear, video stops, next video starts and you see the coles carpark - nothing special can't tell unless you know where the patrol car even is oh well... i had a rant last week when i got into work, i got over it by lunch time. i think the cops do a great job, just this really frustrated me cause i got a ticket the week before for facing the wrong way on a road!? They said i was parked illegally, at 2am in the middle of nowhere outside an ATM where i's getting heaps of cash out, i left my car running lights on and door open so i could just jump back in, but i was 'illegally parked' so cop this fine thanks! even though nobody else was in the street whatsoever but the patrol just happened to be passing the end of the street at that moment and saw my lights on the wrong side of the road so i copped it bad. that's why i's so pissed at them at that time and ranted, but nah, they do their job and the pizza has to stay hot so good on u's. cheers fellas shanus

I was doing 80 (speed limit) on Springvale, they must have been cruising at 100-ish and got away. At Waverley lights after they took off i was in poll and got the green i could see them in a distance...and caught up with them when they stopped at Ferntree Gully road at the red when it happened again. That's when Jus decided to get the video out cause it was strange, and Coles is immediately after Ferntree Gully on the left 2nd driveway so it wasn't hard to see them go in there. I took the 3rd driveway into Video Easy, my destination, and saw them park. Nothing illegal there.

Good point DogKnight! I didn't stick around an walk in after them, but did pull into car park and they parked in a normal spot and casually got out of their car. If it were a situation, then wouldn't they have parked next to the front door in the loading zone marked yellow? hmmm anyways, still no replies in this topic about the pizza! damn emergency if you get a cold pizza, all pizza drivers should have these privledges haha

Hey all, so we've all seen it done, but doesn't it just pi5s you off!? Police 'setting a bad example'. They get away with it but do us over for doing much less or sometimes we get pulled over and done and we haven't even done anything. sometimes what they do is just plain wrong but they're cops so i guess that makes it right...? Ok, i'll back it up with an example, in fact, i even have video footage this time! My mate Jus and i thought it was strange that two cops in a marked sedan last night come up behind us on springvale road with no siren but lights, and couldn't get through waverley road intersection because all poll positions were full - so they turned their lights off, waited in the right turning lane for the right arrow, then when they had a clear lane (car in front turned right) they turned their lights back on and beat the traffic through.... we were behind them on springvale road, still no siren then they turned their lights off and kept cruising. We thought that was strange, so Jus turned on his camera phone to video it and the same thing happened at ferntree gully road t-intersection! ok...so here's where it gets bad. After they got through the intersection they turned into Coles and turned their lights off then went and found a park to go shopping! Geez it makes me furious! Anyways, i also know of a cop, who told me a story in passing that when they want to pick up a pizza, so that it doesn't get cold they use their emergency lights to get it back to the cop shop while it's still hot. Is that really an emergency? does it annoy anybody as much as it angers me!? Got any stories to share to upset my day even more??
