  1. hehe, yeah i know i was a little late, but surely they'd have more of these twilight sessions in the future???
  2. damn this does sound like great value! extremely great value! are open face helmet's allowed?
  3. skyline's are always targetted or any performance car for that matter?
  4. 3 to 5 seconds??? i think you'd need abit longer than that if you want to shoot at iso100 ... this was taken with a 30 second exposure.
  5. and what a pain in da ass that panel is to get off. 12 nuts! ludicrous, and its dead weight aswell imho =)
  6. invest in a tripod dude =)
  7. did ya get a compression test done on it
  8. i have been informed that all yellow cars were "rice" ... :bs!:
  9. hrm ... i believe the scissor door call was made in reference to the "all mods were put onto the car for the sole purpose of performance" statement ... in light of this, i think those doors were made from carbon fibre hence they were put on for weight reduction purposes
  10. im sure it is dino, put one on your car and, who knows, you might go a little quicker
  11. just one small point, i did specify "...100% of the performance cars...", which you've conveniently misquoted me on. i do admit the dress cars ie. the neons on the Z, might show an inkling of "rice" qualities but i just wanted to make certain that you weren't referencing say the blitz drift car or hks s15 drift car etc. on a side note, i believe the jap "dress cars" are definately deisgned to look different - they love that shit, i do however believe performance cars like say the C-West Honda S2k has a bodykit designed for pure performance gains (as does all of the C-West and Veilside kits aim to do).
  12. yes, you should show lots more respect, infact, you should be banished for saying shit like that. 100% of the performance cars seen at autosalon are developed for the sole purpose of drag, circuit or drift. each of the components were put onto the car for the sole purpose of increasing its performance - unlike some of the crap we see at australian autosalon's. for instance! i didnt see 1 friggin fish tank in a boot!!! the outlandish colour schemes and stickers are there for advertising. for instance, who wouldn't recognise the hks drag car? or blitz drift car?
  13. i think whilst bodykits that sit sooo low look soooo damn good, they are soooo damn impractical for australian roads.
  14. no, that looked quite hot in that picture :) all the best with its recovery, and btw, which area of "sydney" are you talking about
  15. but he's not dude, look at the subject "WRXs and Boxer Engines"
  16. comparing stock wrx's... i dont believe the boxer engine is inherently torquey, it all has to do with turbo size i reckon. lag between wrx models are largely dependent upon which model wrx you're talking about. from 1993 to 1996 inclusive: wrx's were released with the td05 turbo's, and supposedly each year between had a slight variation of td05 to the other (just to make it more confusing). the 94 supposedly the laggiest the 96, the fastest spooling. from 1997 through to 2000 inclusive: the wrx sported a td04 turbo. even smaller than the td05 but faster spooling units. yes, my skyline feels quicker up top to my old wrx, but i think this is mainly due to the 6cylinders and larger block this is also not say modified wrx's have no top end!
  17. i can change the way boost comes on with my avcr. unsure how it works with a say a profec but with the avcr it really makes a difference. comes on much harder than just with say a bleed valve because i can control my boost solenoid. i'd say every turbo charged car needs some sort of boost controller that is seperate to a wastegate. wether it be a bleed valve or an electronic unit - the restrictor you just pulled out is in essence a "boost controller" =) taking that restrictor out made you go from what? 0.7bar to 1.0bar boost now???
  18. dont ya just love boost??? boost is the best bang for buck mod you can ever do to a turbo charged car most of the time its FREE but with everything good there are side effects - "the candle that burns twice as bright, burns half as long" as for the avcr. couldn't agree more. i've carried over my avcr from the wrx to the gtt and its an amazing piece of gear. pity my installer crossed over the throttle position and rpm wires! duh! in any case i have 1 gripe with the avcr and that is, its too big. wont fit into a standard din slot so it sits in my glovebox.
  19. hehe i was online when i got that email. im just wondering how many phone calls geoff received and how quick the first one responded
