Piglet's Rebuild Of His Busted Tomei 2.8

Personally, I would be have written correspondence from OS-Giken confirming what clutch you should or shouldn't run. A friend was one of the first to run one in his car and when it went pop they OS Giken Japan blamed the sprung clutch. IIFC his was a dog sequential not helical so may make the difference between being open to using a sprung centre if you are going helical -
Oh...so we are agreeing. Sheesh "In his report Whiting has indicated that some but not all drivers slowed for the yellow flag zone caused by Adrian Sutil’s crashed Sauber in Suzuka and by varying amounts" Need to take it out of their hands and understand your roofing analogy but if they are going to fall on another worker or a pedestrian then you need to do something like put a better engineering control in place I understand the whole personal responsibility thing but you are rewarding risk taking in sport and well the animal will take risks which in circumstances IMO need to have better controls to limit risks at that point in time

Harry...that's BS. If courts step in to stop Sea World staff from engaging in dangerous practices with killer whales pissed off about being in captivity then FIA and stewards need to ensure a drivers workplacesis safe. No need to re-write the rule book or ruin racing...but extra, sensible steps can always be taken to make things safer...including looking at driver conduct under flags. I am not even sure Bianchi is at fault...it was an accident and the flip side its not only about the driver. If Bianchi had hit and killed a marshall ( how easy would that have been) are we going to say it's dangerous for marshalls too so live with the risk? I say nonsense... it can and imo should change.

Now this morning's rumours seem pretty thin http://www.f1today.net/en/news/hamilton-signs-for-mclaren-for-2015 http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2014/10/mclaren-targeted-by-rumours-but-whats-behind-it/

Seems Gary Anderson agrees re pit lane type speed limit. its pretty easy to police if you have sector times which give you the average speed through that section of track between posts
-
How does it look in person? Good luck this year..
-
Yeh, but then they will try to re-order the grid and what should be a 1-2 lap thing will turn into 6-8 laps. Tyres and brakes cool off. Cars stack up. Standing water increases as cars are not driving at speed....and on restart they all pile into each other I cant believe there cant be a white line at each flag point and when recovery vehicles are on track then the speed is reduced at these points just like in the pits. Make it 120km/h whatever. Drivers pressing under yellows to bridge a few tenths is just as common when the safety car is out. Hell i recall cars dropping it on track when safety car is out.
-
Firstly I am not apportioning any blame to Bianchi in this accident...but I am wondering with technology what it is today why dont they have detection lines at flag points and cars hit rev limits that will see the cars slow and need to downshift and maintain 120km/h until then clear the flag point where the next green is shown. Seriously the drivers tendency to speed through double waved yellows in V8 Supercars is terrible and F1 not much better. Has long frustrated me that FIA dont police it more heavily and a joke that in quali sessions drivers only need to demonstrate a lift of a tenth or two as acknowledging the yellow

Well Rosberg has now had two recent races where he was leading at 1/3 distance and came home second. Not good enough at the pointy end of the season

So we are calling a racing incident a mechanical DNF now? Sorry, Spa doesnt count. Its no different to Germany where Homo crashed into every car on the track during his comeback drive. Only difference this time the team chose to retire the car as he was nowhere. Car didnt break down. And he did the damage to his own car driving like a lunatic back to the pits. Not to say it was right, but in no way should that be counted a mech DNF ... LOL IMHO
-
I thought they were 2-2 for mech failures resulting in race retirement. Homo did have the quali issue with his brakes. Interestingly both retirments of Homos were when he was trailing Nico and Noco's retirmements were when he was leading. So no matter how you look at its its very close between them with Lewis getting the nod at the moment Rosberg threw away a race result in Monza and simply was out driven by Lewis in the wet. Even with new tyres was not able to match the pace of Lewis so hats off for a good drive. Interesting to see if Homo can keep the race pace advantage to the end
-
What as opposed to the two races where Nico retired whilst ahead of him?

1200hp, big wings and a puckering a55hole through Eau Rouge. I love Austrians!

On a lighter note, anyone see interview with Lauda about Vettel and RBR & Fezz? I actually have really come to like the guy And poor Alonso
-
Well hopefully he is ok as seems to have largely clipped and collapsed the back...not the cabin
-
Had been a cracking race ...and now I feel sick
-
McLaren built a decent chassis in 2012, and apart from that...when was there last non-dog chassis? If I was Honda I would be hoping that McLaren have a process in place to ensure that any new car isnt a lottery dip
-
I think he just needs a new challenge. Still think it could be McLaren despite all the talk as Alonso could well make Fezz now pay out a contract or keep him to mess with Vettel. Whatever the case the new Fezz management are retards for pushing Alonso out. Oh, and the release clause was if he wasnt in the top 3 in the championship he can leave. LOL, McLaren offer 40 million and he just tanks a few races and he is out of the contract
-
Yeh. Sky now saying RBR garages are saying he is off to Ferrari Marko being pretty classy too when talking about it
-
Yeh, funny. JEV can eat a dick. Dan called up for 2014 and now Kyvat called up for 2015 and still no seat for him at STR. I still think Alonso could be staying at Fezz and this is Vettel to McLaren.

Wish I lived in the UK and had cash http://thesheriffsoffice.com/articles/breaking-news-impending-sale-of-a-formula-one-vehicle-and-equipment Doesnt read good for poor old Caterham
-
Well I will move to UK and engineer cars fir £150,000 so that will cover my wage
-
Have you seen the MCA wing how its hammerhead design is higher? The front damn is mega low but the hammer head parts are a few inches higher. The ARK thing is just wide and low
-
I have to assume that the articles are several months behind the actual cars development and its been hammering around tracks for testing. The one thing I dont understand is that they are going to all this effort on the car, have the AB aero happening for them....hasn't anynone actually stopped and looked at the circuit they are competing on? That silly front abomination is going to seriously restrict some of the faster lines at various parts of the track and not allow it to kerb hop or use run off without damage! Tiem will tell but I am expecting it to have to stick a foot away from many apexes in order to not damage the aero...which means it will want to be working bloddy well to allow it to be takign slower lines through the corners by using less track
