Tyre Size for 7 1/2 inch Rim
EnricoPalazzo replied to Jay95R33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
well i was tight last time i went for tyres and reluctantly chose cheapo bridgestone b530s. Basically they arent good and they piss me off everytime i cant get decent power to the ground. another time i got simex tyres and they stuck pretty well, and wer cheap at 160 each for 235/45/17. ultimately, im a uni student and cant afford to spend heaps in tyres, and especially cos they end up being bald in 6 months. is this abnormally short tyre life -
New bilstein/Kings setup: review
EnricoPalazzo replied to SLY33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Steve, I feel my cars handling isnt tight aswell. I know uve done more suss mods then me, yet the car feels very unpredictable at times and its hard to push hard around some corners, yet in some others, it feels great. My mods are so far only tien HAs, Cusco front stut brace and front blocks. Do r33 gtst come standard with strut bars under the car front and rear as i also have them. Whats lettin me down most is that my diff open wheels badly now that my car is makin good street power. I hate this. So what should i concentrate on fixing. Start by gettin rid of the tiens? Try new springs? Or get some decent tyres and get the suss properly setup? Cheers -
Tyre Size for 7 1/2 inch Rim
EnricoPalazzo replied to Jay95R33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
jay dont u mean 245 hehe. Guys im in the same postions as everyone else. I need new tyres, and now since im makin good power i need somethin sticky. Now if i get a good quality tyre such as faulkken azenias or whatever they are called, how much benefit is there in running 255s over 235s?? does the benefits out weigh the extra costs? -
hahah i lost one nut from the cam cover belt. It just disappered And the worst thing was that it was the last nut i was puttin back on. Then trying to find the thing took longer then what it took to install the cam gear. It was really easy, thanks to all the help from everyone. Its gettin tuned tomorrow.

SydneyKid, ive been told the unichip is only good if u dont reach afm max out. Reason being the factory ecu then cuts in and starts pulling back timing. Now ive consulted a few people who have had first hand experience with unichips that agree with this, however according to the unichip website, they reckon the factory ecu will not pull back timing as the unichip can still trick the ecu into not seeing full afm voltage. So i wanna know wats the deal with this. I want to eventually change turbos. Obviously a power fc is the preferable, however i have had not a problem with the unichip and the car is definately makin good power. What are ur thoughts on this. The unichip has 408 fuel and ign point to be changed, so its quite capable. Id compare it to the emange, as they are both interceptors with simialar functions. Thanks

haha, i said when i bought my car, he was good, and i was happy with my car, yet this after sale service lacked. I think atm, hes gone overboard with the 15yo cars to make as much money he can b4 its stopped. -

i do agree with u thou about the govt. I mean who knows wat they will do. This whole sevs thing has slowed the import industry bad, hence importers have had to rely heavily on the 15 yo rule. So in heindsight, it was the govts fault. Back to geoff, i agree he does choose good cars, hey im happy with mine, just that i thought he service was somewhat lacking after i made my purchase. Good luck with the car. Cyas -
haha its not a crow bar, its a pinch bar get it rite will ya. Can u post pics of ur progress, im very interested. Cheers

if u read my post properly u would see i wrote "when sevs is fully implemented" as i know its not happenin at the moment. Also not baggin people, but people can be a whole lot more helpful when they want ur money then afterwards. I have had first hand and more experience than u have, and also 3 of my mates also had the same story to tell. -

lwells, althou 15 yo cars seem to be an absolute bargin, they arent really. For example due to the current situation with sevs not being fully implemented, 15yo cars have skyrocketed in price and importing. Due to this, cars like i mentioned b4, 90-93 model r32 gtrs, which are in better overall condition are cheaper then the mostly rough 89 models. So for example the 15 yo rule is scrapped and sevs is fully implemented, the situation would obviosly change, where people could choose whatever model they wanted. Now cause there are alot to choose from, the prices really shouldnt change too much, althou obviously the older 89 models will be lower then the newer models. Say an 89 model was 700,000 yen and the 92 was 850,000 which is a possible prices. Basically the only difference in cost from 15yo rule and sevs is the compliance difference. So basically u can get a generally shitloads better car from the 15yo rule to the sevs ruling for only about 3000 difference. as im assuming complinace would be 4000 compared to 1000 for a 15yo car. Basically that is all the difference. So when u think about it, the 15yo rule is basically just allowing really cheap cars to get in really cheaply, however as soon as u bring in a decent car which is still fetching good prices in japan, the difference here is very minimal, and i personally would prefer it to change as the quality of cars would be alot better due to people having more to choose from. I hope all this makes sense. -

Althou i didnt mention names purposely, i did get my car thru geoff and found him to be very good with questions and overall serice. However now, this whole importing every 15yo car possible b4 the rule changes situation is absurd and stupid, and quite frankly u can see that they are just tryin to make as much money as possible, and really dont care wat car u want. All they see it as is another sale to them. However there are other importers that are the opposite to this and will not buy junk cars.
