  1. Does it have nismo thermostat low temp? That on nistune causes issues until its hot as hell too the laptop kept saying low temp on mine while on Dyno 35c day , no issues on cold day so far just smells rich as hell for the first 2 km My car only had 74,000km and it was caked with crap , injector cleaner wont fix that idle air problem either the injection happens below that
  2. Could be a bad spray pattern on injector as well , leaking a tiny bit
  3. Its the ilde air control on the back of the manifold is carbon caked that controls idle air and cold start driveability backside of throttle plate is most likely as well , check the TPS its a touchy bastard with nistune and voltages ever so slight can make it run wonky Also check O2 sensor And run a ground wire from coil packs to firewall with cover off turn off the lights and run the engine you can sometimes see the culprit spark jumper My splitfires played up after 2 years doing the miss fire and abs, slip, tcs warning to come on The dash Confirm no boost leaks or vacuum leaks as well Fuel regulator if its tee'd off for boost gauge , dont do that return to factory setup it can surge and fry a motor if it pops off And of course fuel filter And fuel brewed last week is different mix then this weeks cold weather batch if you didnt know that ??
  4. Sorry to fart in the post chris DLS , ARC are mid range at best DLS splits ok subs no ARC top of the line subs ok And alpine and rockford top of the line are made / designed by one of the below companies (mids and tweeters) crossover parts are where a lot of the cost increases , some caps cost 25 bucks retail for top of the line direct from company So its easy to dump 300 bucks just on a crossover if you go OTT and package it nice You dont always have to spend a mint to get good sound that sends chills up your neck, the install setup makes a big difference , a 200 dollar splits sounds just as good as $2000 when installed average and tuning is off And i can vouch for chris he will do it right , maybe a dozen shops in oz i could say that about !! My choices for hi end SQ speakers ( a sample ) Dynaudio, Vifa, Morel, Image dynamic horns / subs ,SEAS, polydax and audax (same company ) peerless , hybrid audio , Scanspeak B&O, Linn, Mission, Thiel & Wilson all use SEAS brand drivers Vifa is also used in B&O, Mission, Paradigm & Vandersteen Boston, JBL, Klipsch, Polk, PSB, Snell, Sony & many others use POLYDAX Dont overlook Hertz top of the line ,new pioneer SQ stuff , MB Quart 3 way splits , GoldSound mids and small woofers , Orion HCCA subs are beasts in the right box and can sound good still Earthquake "holeEshit "subs if you want some monster spl bass in a big car , to much for skylines due to weight You can buy the parts from a few companies way cheaper and a expert installer can design the crossover to exceed just about anything you can buy off the shelf since it will be for the car/speaker relation response , or run active xover tri-amp power There are a few other brands but the cost and availability turns insane $20k for a pair of 3 way splits and require massive mods cutting steel and panels to fit and a thousand watts per channel available for dynamic range Like having a f1 car but able to be driven daily , in case you need the power lol To give you a rough idea , mine is near 7,000 watts max power , 2,000 to front speakers alone some of the brands above come in 100,000 dollar plus home speakers !!! and one is used to recreate sonic booms for space craft / shuttle tiles when it was being used And then you need amps , processor and headunit to make it sing
  5. Thanks mate ,im not the post nazi lol just pmt during school holidays I love dish and flairs , wish i could run massive width and crossfactory widebody my car , i hate ADR rules and how they get promoted while crims run the street (but seems to be a bit better maybe its just me) and promote people doing something to cars that is unique and not follow the sheep on cosmetic mods And had friends who hacked up cars and nearly die from the mistakes of lowered car versus no bumpstops or room for tyres to move up Every car is different config but in the end the pricipal result is the same when Tyres hit the end of travel rapidly on a solid object I guess i thought he sounded like a guard roll not a flair job , and guard roll was still only a few lines down My apologies if i offended Blacks, jews, whites, asians, krishy, dogs, cats, car nuts , pizza lovers ( deep dish) and any gays , lesbians and anyone else may have missed lol And you should keep your car , the love for it wont vanish ( thinks about all the cars i wish i still had :-( )
  6. Thanks jet, im sure the ford on slicks would squat a fair bit to hook up try a datto 1200 coupe with 12" tall narrow bike rims stock going to z car scca trans am spec dish , it took a lot of flair to bring it up to race spec slicks 10" wide on front and rears , all dish Ramming rear tyres into gaurds can lock them up , what happen when the rear tyres lock when you jam up the handbrake , it goes backwards in split second unless you know car control ( not part of aussie driving test ) or the skills of a lot of drivers Silly thing is khali ( customtv )did her 32.4 rear guards and its on youtube as i pointed out ?? not saying anything about quality but its functional and at least she stepped up to do her own !! But if not drop the keys off and pay someone to do it , anyone can do that if you have money !!
  7. Gee ive never had offset or flaired gaurds , old cars always had to be flaired !!! We couldnt get rims back then without mad dish!! Grow up some of have had the experience of wheels ripping a fender off or a fender cutting a tire in half when you floor it on old big block cars squating down I can tell you how to flair in metal, fiberglass, carbon, cardboard and bog, or jeep cj 5 rubber flairs screwed on , or baseball bat rollout flair , ghetto to show car So i'll leave it to all you" know it alls "to f**k up or "pay someone cause you have no skills except keyboard warrior
  8. I have a apexi pod in good nick off my 34 gtt 20 bucks plus shipping or pick up and its yours with steel brace bracket to make it legal
  9. I would use a car audio installer not a auto electrical person , and on your pm questions The wire plugs need to be pushed in first then push down on the pins holding the plugs tight on a/c and radio controls , whom ever does the job needs soft thick towels around the dash by the cage , those double din cages eat the dash and its damn near impossible to repair once its scratched up , you cant remove the radio without your car shifter pulled back all the way , and hand brake down is easiest but dont let the car roll away , not sure of anyone near you only in braeside ?
  10. Pm replied to
  11. Strangely enough that could be mistaken for the one stolen from unley ? Check the links on the r33 stolen thread ? Hard to say on iphone screen but they could pass for each other with a few changes ?
  12. 3 fails , dualie, diesel, dodge Redneck special smokestack I wanted to see it on the open road not fanged on backstreets full of cars lots of boost for sure Dont miss my dodge v10 4x4 at all piece of junk
  13. Wine r33 no wing on the dinga esply at sunset
  14. Around here the roads suck ? it is sadalaide Aftermarket is what a lot of cars use ( dealer installed options !) the 34 has a spot for one built in the throttle i noticed i too had a v10 with cruise in usa but the weight of the truck and smooth power delivery as it goes up a hill made it a non issue, my old mitsu vr4 galant 5spd had one in denver but the evo motor didnt spool up like a rb , on a 14,000 ft climb it would pull nice on dry roads 4x4 car since the turbo spools faster and faster it would fly up the hill but the engine would be overheating ( even in cold weather) from leaning at altitude and being on near full boost for long times the temp would rocket up past half way even on half boost near stock car doubt that would happen in oz but a short steep hill would my car demands attention even around town from being so stiff and a few mild mods , 11 inch wide tires and nismo lsd ,The gtt is tail light in stock trim , low fuel not sure how the stag would be ? i wouldnt feel safe on cruise in the 34 unless it was flat , wide , smoothe , gradients steady not steep , not raining on uphill sections Traction control is just too abrubt on the 34 it would piss me off , cause cruise would kick off too And without it on the car has enough power to slide on boost in 5th gear in damp conditions 3200rpm is enough to be slowly sideways on good tread rubber and in 5th thats speeding a fair bit if you break traction on cruise and it hesitates even a split second you could be in strife , your feet wont be in a position to respond in most cases my new model camry with a 2.3 lite engine auto had cruise and in the light rain it would spin the tyres randomly even in 5th !! and front drive is not so nice to get sliding at speed ( it had fly by wire throttle delay too) IMO i wouldnt do it unless it was stock, auto, and no traction control overide when on No idea of cost , in usa they ran about 300 plus install for a normal car Stags dont use the same traction control as 34 if i remember right ? see if chris rogers replies maybe he knows of some here ?? Call him up ?? Another option might be grab one off a us model (v series skyline) infinity g35 from a wreckers , cruise is on just about every usa car ? It might be able to be converted for use or give you some bolt on parts at least , get someone to photograph the intake throttleplate on one ? You can source a kit from usa for any car that has a throttle cable still , stinger australia , (victoria) might even carry one they import a lot of stuff like that ? call phatt audio in braeside those guys might do them , ask for brett or sam
  15. Something in lithuim ion pete , it takes a continuus draw pretty well and the weight wont affect the bikes center of gravity so much and nonspill bonus , what compression is the hog ? 12.1 or more ? Guess a lawnmower pull start might rip your arm off and a kickstart would gut your calf on recoil Just remember its like a mobile phone or laptop deep cycle it a few times then charge full , Deep cycle about once every few months to stop memory from building up in the battery a charger for these batteries is mandatory to do that properly not a supercheap special just watch out these come in 12,14,16,18 volt and more 14v isnt better in a 12v charging system and can fry headlight ballasts , all the ecu's , and lcd screen and traces on boards those are strickly for cars wired to isolate the car from that battery and charger ( big car stereo systems ) and since its battery questions Batteries in parralel add current capability voltage stays the same ( positive to positive, negative to negative) must use same battery and same age or it can be dangerous , this is 12v still but batteries need isolators to charge on stock alternator without killing it ( battery in boot and one in bonnet area, otherwise you can strap together and charge as one) In series the voltage goes up , current can drop from resistance ( positive to neg of next battery , ground off the first one to ground, positive of second battery to car) this is 24 v in cars trucks All kinds of worthless crap in my head lol
  16. It can be done , i wouldnt ever do it on a turbo skyline , i miss it from other cars but think about it High power car, bad roads, rb goes from no power off boost to balls out , traction control yanks the thing to damn near a crawl power wise And turned off even a modest power line on a dry road can be a handful on bumps and put you in the trees in a heartbeat , its like driving tip toe to not fry the tires or end up bouncing off bad dips holes in the road on coilover shocks and you cant go in back and make a sandwich on cruise control haha Really the ecu isnt smart enough like a new stability controlled cars and most people driving skill it would kill them , plus when you get sore jump out for a stretch and wake up ? Built in safety measure lol skylines arent bad on drives just the shocks too stiff and wide tall tyres ride bad on australian roads Maybe auto non turbo , wagon I would go for it not a big deal on that , or low power turbo or 4x4 car New cars its not such a issue
  17. Odessy batteries are all orange unless its military version , some have metal jackets for offroad protection Red top is starting only , light aftermarket stereo Yellow top - dual duty start and some ability to deep cycle without damage Blue top - deep cycle boat or rv battery can be recharged and cycled many times with proper charger A cheap option is a UPS battery like the big jaycar one but you must have good connections and go for long drives to charge weekly , not light but 100% sealed When you do a new battery get a chunk of rubber from clark rubber about same size as battery and a chunk for bracket touch points , about 5 mm i think it is It will save every battery from excessive vibrations that dead short the plates inside and extend the life dramatically
  18. Hey luke check out the new lithium ion batteries from usa , http://www.braillebattery.com/index.php/batteries/ml7s/# Just starting battery ? Dont forget 6 coilpacks take a bunch of power and a couple fuel pumps you want a buffer so you dont trash a motor due to low voltage on the ecu , coilpack, fuel pumps and electric fans if equip'd .. Anything below 12v and enough current available and malfunctions occur , my old commy would start shutting down the ecu at idle when the bass hit (1 amp only) gulping power 90amps at a time with just normal stuff turned on inside the car , it ended up taking a coil pack and alternator out What I'm saying is even a Full time racecar needs juice and grounds beyond factory The battery on the link is the lightest you can buy but you might want a bit bigger version of it and you still need the cable and connections but the only 4ga needed in a race car is starter and ground on battery to frame and engine alternator bracket The rest 8 ga is fine
  19. Odessy battery Yellow top A few other brands but they're hard to find and cost more Defect to use anything but sealed without proper venting and you will be happy with the above my old yellow top lasted 11 years and that was in a area it snowed and got to 40+ , shame the markup is so high in oz the new lithuim batteries are beasts , ..... new cars wont be 12v in the very near future (most likely 48v lithium ion) watch out where you buy battery even a well know shop down south has grey market imported battery NOT covered by any usa or oz warranty And its one battery on the above list , also note a special charger is needed to charge the above if they go flat , the standard chargers wont cut it, even a high power floor standing model wont , if the alarm is draining your battery in a week your siren backup battery is prob 2-3 years old and will eat your car battery even after you change it out , those siren batteries can get funny about the 3 year mark or if the get run flat a few times( car battery goes flat as well) a daily driver car siren lasts 6-10 years , stored cars 1-4 years tops upgrade your factory charge wires and grounds and terminals when you do the battery to save you doing it twice !! Use full size car audio terminals dont mess with the crappy car parts ones !! Plus they look nice and have covers Factory size (small)batteries are not up to the job if you run a stereo amp and modded car , the little jap ones are junk , just enough to start the car not much else If you redo the wires car audio wire exceeds the looks ,performance and much cheaper in kit form them premade wires Dont use arc welding wire its too stiff and connections are hard for home users to do My 2 cents
  20. It has to be "red " 3m tape or it will fall off !! tiger seal bond is the go , my carbon weathershields use both and dont move best bet remove 3 screws, unplug , replace with carbon ganador mirrors , much better , i did that option and my factory ones are the heated glass ones even , lol factory mirrors are huge and ugly
  21. Just beware " most shops wont install it legally or even properly " they just want the cash , do your homework by asking around here etc And read the defect thread to see the vast array of items they pick on Dont drive like a muppet and you should be right Its a boost gauge on the street , your boost shouldnt change much if the car is stockish so its more of a wank factor and a casual check now and then the boost isnt creeping into danger zone hey i love the police "when the bust criminals for real crimes" and would be more then happy help to get the crims off the street and report crime but from that perspective the crims get out 5 min later to re- offend by weak laws that police car is so clean , look at a usa car with shotguns and roll cage and fiberglass pan for a backseat for easy cleanup i heard on one of the current affair shows a truck had a big plasma and dvd in the front seat in SA so that was a good catch for defect Just mount logical and away from airbags and face plant zones not on dash but in dash , digital ones can be gutted and mounted just about anywhere the led fits , tiny as hell but best left to a pro to extend wires etc Good luck end rant
  22. Black r33 gtr up and down the esply in dinga just now Pearl white stag rs260 with abflung sticker on the back on patalinga yesterday , i was behind you and bet you have poor fuel economy based on your rapid take offs , legal speed but heavy footed Forgot this one , Black stag with a blue grill and huge intel inside sticker on back window on south rd nice job running the red light and red arrow - fail it was way red and uncalled for
  23. My gtt tv /gps is above the dashline ? and so is the MFD on gtr , bmw nav unit etc Its more about crash zone and blocking view but look at some of the new cars dashboards theyre not the best for a face plant either my old work car new style camry had a radio bezel that glared so bad without a dimmer at night the trip to broken hill in the dark i had to cover it with a towel to see outside !!! the dimmer only did the cluster not radio , even with the radio off it still lit up around it bad and bounced off the window
  24. Yeah my car came with greddy a pillar mount , many rbt checks over a year before i got rid of it and police sitting next to me in traffic no comments at all , but its not legal ( even if you see it all the time in magazines !!) really if you walk into a car shop with performance products more then half wouldnt be legal for use per ADR rules in "adelaide" and you dont normally see disclaimers about legality in shops or dealerships i guess they assume the public knows ADR rules off the top of there head ??? lets just cut to the chase defecting cars makes millions of dollars a year here because most people cant afford to contest the laws!! a Suspected defect is a catch all that can get every car on the road ? easy money for the state !! my car doesnt leak a drop but somehow every car park is like the oil tanker split open before you got to the shop parking lot ? Bet you dont see those cars at regency ? Really its additional income for the state , most of the people i know have engine bays you could eat off and check the car top to bottom often How often do daily drivers get that kinda care ? The amount of money made by car companies and aftermarket parts is huge and without it the economy would be much worse off , welcome to the nanny state Bend over and grab your ankles for a fisting
  25. Vic banned gps and phone mounts on windshield last year so its a matter of time before that happens here , ipod or phone using bluetooth sender can do it now on obd2 cars you can read just about everything off ecu double din pockets for gauges are piss easy to make , i cut my cig lighter and ashtray off in back and embeded guages flush in carbon and waterclear epoxy , took the guages apart and mounted the guts behind the facia of carbon , super thin mounted that way and boost gauge and a few other items in the dead space behind my sunroof switch , same way only rebuild the roof panel to a cave instead of flat so its flush and not in crash zone for my nose lol before my boost gauge was on apillar tucked all the way back , police never even looked at it but i didnt like it there , airvent blocking isnt smart kiss off demisting side glass and if your in a accident because of that your in big trouble ( my mate hit a lady by having fogged side windows so it can happen ?)
