Hey guys, As some of you may know, my RB26 died last week. It's at the workshop, pending investigation into the engine failure. Ok, that aside, I need help finding a cheap car for a few months. If anyone is or knows of anyone selling a really cheap car (and I mean really cheap, just to get around in) please let me know! I need one urgently to get to and from work (this weekend would be good ), so I need it to have registration, even if it's just a few months left on it. I'm in South Yarra if that helps, I'd pretty much buy anything that is working, and will work for a few more months. My budget is ~$1k, $1.5k maximum. I hope it is OK to post this request in here. Thanks guys, all help appreciated!

Annnd she's gone to the mechanic Will only have a chance to hear what's up with the engine when it comes it in the next 7 business days or so. Quite stressful.

Ello guys. I've decided to do a engine rebuild on my car after something in the motor broke. This is my first go, and I only have a fairly basic understanding of the engine/engine rebuild process. From what I can gather, I will replace the following items in the engine: (Mahle) forged pistons & conrods (ARP) conrod-bolts and head-bolts Main bearings (N1) Oil pump & water pump Timing belts (Tomei) head gasket That's all that I can think of at the moment. What important parts from that list are missing? I am sure there's some stuff I am not aware of.. And what else do you guys recommend I should do while the engine is out? I don't have unlimited funds, and of course, there is still labour costs involved which aren't yet calculated (ouch). I'm also thinking of maybe getting some adjustable cam gears and maybe some N1 turbos? Are the N1's a direct bolt-on for a early model R32 GTR ? Finally.. on the note of labour costs, can one guess a ballpark figure? I know other work may need to be done, and different places charge different amounts, but if anyone has a very very rough figure to be looking at for labour I'd appreciate it if you could let me know. Hey dude, I didn't know you were on the forums.. I visited a few months back on a Saturday and talked to all you guys for ages. I also have the R32 GTR and spoke with Geno about sound a lot too. I came down a few weeks ago to get some basic sound installed, Geno told me he is selling or has sold his Skyline? Boo! I dig the video of your engine running... my engine died today. Rebuild time....

Na.. it's already broken, something floating around the engine.. sounds horrible

Not actually quite sure, was in traffic, as you know it's also quite hot today.. heard ticking from the motor... immediately turned around and went to my mechanic before close of business... and yeah, not good news

Hey guys... As some of you may know, I am absolutely addicted to driving my Skyline, unfortunately today, my engine died (what at this stage appears to be bearing failure)... Having not been in this situation before, I am quite confused and need your advice. What would you do in this instance? What options do I have? I know I can rebuild the engine, but it's not cheap and I don't expect it to be. On top of that, it could just be a standard overhaul of the motor, but being there and the fact that it's all out, you may as well dip in a bit further and rebuild a forged motor, but once again, money doesn't grow on trees! I would appreciate any advice or help from you guys very very much. Bear in mind I absolutely love the GTR. I'd hate to have to lose it, but I have to be realistic here.

almost... it looks like he hits what is old flimsy wooden boards which break up too easily to cause damage, however if they were concrete blocks there or something he'd have screwed the car up
