FOR SALE 1990 r32 skyline ABS and sunroof model 123,xxxK's the goods: series one rb25 engine and gearbox conversion brand new exedy cushion button clutch short shifter with heavy weighted trust gearknob replaced worn out standard lsd with a good condition unit turbo back 3inch exhaust with one resonator superspark coilpacks rb20 wastegate actuator front mount intercooler walbro intake fuel pump BOV deleted using cefiro crossover pipe oil cooler with good quality fittings and braided lines r32 gtr standard radiator with twin thermo fans unknown brand coilovers all round (quite stiff) front strut brace old momo steering wheel clarion usb head unit speco boost gauge drift temp gauge blitz turbo timer ROH driftR wheels, 18x8 fronts 18x9 rears brand new rubber all round unknown brand body kit car has been resprayed in a bright orange colour has new halo headlights and tinted corner indicators the car has passed threw a regency vehicle inspection with the rb25 engine and gearbox. i will include a standard exhaust and standard struts also. only just ran out of rego. the not so goods: still starts first go and drives fine and goes hard but its had a failed fuel pump causing a lean out and has suspected ring/ringland failure causing excessive oil in intercooler pipework. Also the crank keyway holding the harmonic balancer had somehow came out causing the balancer to spin on the crank, essentially stuffing the balancer and the crank. ive since fixed that problem with a new balancer and keyway. but really it needs another rb25 long motor which can be found for between $600-$1100. their is a slight whine from a gearbox bearing in 1st-2nd-3rd gears, been like it since iv owned the car and has never gotten any worse or caused any problems. Does not affect operation operation at all other than sounding like a straight cut box. The engine bay looks quite filthy with the scratched up black piping. has a few small paint cracks on the body kit etc selling as i dont have time or money to fix and i just got a huge tax bill that must be paid. looking for $6000ono located an hour out of Adelaide. text tom on 0423420713 for more info or more pics. cheers

Gt3582 On A Hks Cast Iron Low Mount On A 25/30 In A R33 ?
bubbabooga replied to PLYNX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I personally had a gt35/82r .82 ex housing on a 25/30 in a cefiro with 4 inch intake pipe and barely had to trim the engine mount side steel part, on rb20 mounts tho as the 33 engine mounts are slightly bigger. -

Got a pair of windows removed from my cefiro as they have a few vandalism style scratches in them. Still very useable. I'm just fussy, scratches may be able to be polished out. Both drivers side front and rear door windows. Chasing $80each or $150 the pair. Also have a welded 6 bolt r180 diff in housing from my cefiro. Felt tight with minimal backlash. Also have the 6 bolt axles. Diff $100 axles $80 for the pair. Located an hour out of Adelaide South aus. MSG Tom on 0423420713 for pics if interested

Sorry anyone following this thread. Is their a way I can have this thread deleted by a moderator? I appreciate everyone's input, but for now I would really like to sort this issue out one on one with my tuner/builder. When the out come is found il relay it back to here. But for now I'd really like this entire thread deleted. Cheers -

Alright guys cheers very much for the input! Just to be Clear, I'm not here to slander either the engine builder or the tuner, which is why I won't name them. The cas disc is another thing the tuner mentioned he was going to have a look into. Now, for pulling down this motor and finding what's failed, should that be on the workshop to remove the motor and have it pulled down by the builder? Or should that be my problem to pick up the car and do it all myself? Cheers -

Called up the tuner today but their still waiting on flow benching of the intake manifold which is with the engine builder, who unfortunately had his workshop broken into over the weekend with a shitload of tools and parts stolen. That's what I would have thought the tuner would have done straight up to. Not too happy with his approach to it especially after I clearly specified I wanted to run no more than 16-17psi. Previous cr was 8.2, this time around its up at 8.8 to 1. I asked the tuner about wether a knock monitoring device was used on the run, he said yes of course and no worrying amount of knock was seen. The waiting game continues.. Unrelated but I bought myself a turbo gsxr1000 to keep me occupied till this damn rb is sorted Cheers guys! Appreciate the wise words. -

They informed me they put a borescope down the low comp cylinders and they had signs of Det and damaged bores on my already 87mm bored block. I have heavily researched hard running in methods etc. Now the tuners run in method was Fire engine, free rev and blipping throttle under 50% till at temp, shut off engine check leaks etc, let it cool down, load it on the dyno and sit it at about 90kmh in 4th gear under medium load lowish boost for the 10kays. I was under the impresion a good ring bed in required vartied loads, revs and engine braking? On a fresh as fresh engine with good ring bed in what kind of cylinder pressures should be expected? 110psi for cylinders 3-6 seems low to me. -

Okay I worded that very Wrong saying demand. I entirely understand the power of respect and level headedness in a situation like this, i know the finger cannot be pointed at anyone just yet untill we figure out what caused this failure. Last I spoke with tuner and engine builder they were pulling off the intake manifold to have it put on a flow bench. But if the needle does land on this intake manifold after flow bench testing and the engine builder had to weld up a small tab on the intake manifold and checked the port matching on the manifold, said it looked like a good unit. shouldn't perhaps some concern have been expressed if it didn't look up to the task? -

Okay first up I previously had a built 25/30 running 356kw using the same head and custom intake manifold. Only changes this build were to the oiling system, 0.5 higher comp ratio, total seal rings, cam change from 232 duration 6.5mm lift cams to 262/9.1mm with appropriate springs and port tidy up and match the intake manifold ports. Now I had discussed with the tuner I only wanted it ran off spring pressure in the wastegate so I can learn to drive it at that power level First, made it very clear I wanted a super safe tune and wasn't to concerened with the power level. So he apparently he had it up and running, bedded the rings In on the dyno for around 10kays, changed out the mineral oil to redline oil ready to get into tunning. Then he tells me he's ran it up for a power run without touching anything with the tune or boost, where it pulled only 320wkw on 21psi. Down considerably on the old setup and boosted well past where I wanted. Now apparently Afr's were safe the whole time. After fixing a small coolant leak the car wasn't idling right and had smoke pluming out of the catch can. Comp test revealed front 2 cylinders down around 50psi and the rest were at about 110psi (which I feel is extremely low for a brand new engine). Now the engine builder and tuner are unsure of why this has happened but only suspects are the custom intake manifold which kinda points the throttle body towards cylinders 1-2. I would post a pic of intake manifold but I'm posting from iPhone away at work. But it's the intake manifold off dahtone racings old 2GUUp candy red r32 skyline. Now I'm curious if anyone has had similar issues due to a plenum? And who should kind of be at fault here? I'm far from happy so far! Specs of the build as follows: rb25/30 Custom je pistons with total seal rings and spool rods, usual block and crank prep, nitto oil pump, lewis engines race sump, r32 rb25de non vct head, ported, springs, cam tech 264/9mm cams, custom intake manifold, sard 700cc injectors, twin entry rail, walbro lift pump, 044 feed pump, haltech e11v2 ecu with boost control. Twin scroll t04z, 0.8 rear housing, turbo smart 50mm gate. Sorry about big post! Cheers all

Make/Model: hr31 gtsx Year:1989 Kilometers:200,xxx on dash, 88,xxx on motor Modifications: alright do I got this car a few years back and was restoring it to its former glory. I had to replace the engine and took me ages to source the original red top20 which had 88,xxx written on the covers. before installing the motor I replaced all 12 exhaust manifold studs and gasket with new genuine Nissan parts. Also fitted a s2 bb rb25 turbo and appropriate oil feed line along with a am performance sleeve style screamer dump and front pipe. Also has a31 side mount cooler. Iv also fitted a Walbro ls1 fuel pump and custom 3 inch metal intake pipe. Engine runs mint and sounds nuts! Complete standard cat back exhaust fitted which needs to be extended about an inch to meet the dump pipe. $20 exhaust shop fix. Will include I jun bl rear polished muffler and 3 meter length of 3 inch stainless tube to get a nice exhaust fabricated. Fitted exedy hd clutch also when installing engine. Currently has all standard suspension and brakes but with sale I'll include s13 sr20 front brakes and a full set of s13 coilovers, rears mint fronts are tein but need a rebuild. Interior is all standard and all working electrics, weird jap features like air purifier on the back window and elec air cushion seats. Lol Also has old school jap turbo timer installed which works perfecto. Now I had every intention of finishing and enjoying this car but Iv started a new job working away and home only 1 week out of 2 months so have no time to finish it let alone enjoy it. So the body work is 90% finished which has been done by 2 panel beater mates of mine. It's had the boot lid spoiler removed (included in sale) and holes welded up, all badges removed and filled, all wheel arches lipped and slightly pumped. It's at the stage it needs a skim coat over the guard lips then a wet rub and into a spray booth. It was goona cost me 1k to have it sprayed, maybe cheaper if you know a painter. I also have a complete set of the original rear hot plate taillights included. Currently rolling on silver 16x8 weld draglights, super light rims with brand new yokohama tread all round. Probably best to text any questions or pic requests on 0423420713 as I work a lot. Cheers much Tom Roadworthy Certificate:not required in sa Registered:currently not, but can be Accident History:nill Asking Price:eoi?? $$4000ono Location:Murray bridge area Contact Details:0423420713

Do ya just use one of the generic double sided tape fixed a pillar mounts? Kinda wanted to keep them off the a pillar out of sight of the five oh especially at night but it certainly makes sense for oil pres and boost to be their in ya line of sight.. I'm also setting up a big auto meter shift light to a oil pressure switch so it shines me in the face if I am ever to loose oil pressure.

Hey lads Got a set of defi's soon to be installed in my ceffy, I got boost, oil pres, water and oil temp. I'm unsure where to place the gauges tho, I have the defi gauge cups also. I was thinking maybe above the glovebox on the grove that's their in the cups on a slight angle towards driver.. I'm hoping some peeps on here can share their ceffy gauge layout pics? Would be a great help for ideas. Cheers much Tom
