You trying to make me feel bad?

Mate I just got 60% of my car resprayed at JAM Body Service and I highly recommend them. They're in Nishinomiya in Hyogo though, so not much use to you I guess. Here are a few pics: Everything bar the roof, bonnet, front guards and front/rear bumper were resprayed. There was quite a bit of rust around the rear wheelarches and on the passenger side rear "c" pillar, but that wasn't a problem for JAM... I let the result speak for itself: I was gobsmacked at their quality. They went over and above my expectation, even respraying the rear taillight surrounds free of charge. Now the scary part... it cost me 230,000 yen! Yes, I thought about it, and in the end decided it was worth it beecause the mechanicals of the car are actually quite good, beating Evo_Lee's Lancer Evo 5 up to 120km/h on standard boost... I think just from the "experience" point of view, you should get your car resprayed in Japan at a place thats got a good reputation. The good Japanese body repairers are just so thorough with their work, you'll be satisfied for sure.

It's strange isn't it? Then again, there haven't been any wildly successful drivers from Japan, that and I guess Europe will always be the center of the universe of motorsport. So the deep down enthusiasm just isn't there amongst most of the population?But getting back to TV, theres no reason why they couldn't have a "motorsports weekly round up" type show on Sunday morning showcasing all national coverage and whatever big international races were on that week... prime time for all the blokes I guess. Wierd.

Ha! And remember the cable was connected even before the gas was... remember?

Two words DCD: J-Sky Sports... JGTC, Rally, DTM, F1 you name it. Best cable channel in Japan!

Theres also "Boon!" which is on Sundays (I think) at about 8:30pm, but again I haven't watched regular TV for months having gotten cable TV. Boon! is a motorsports show, they showed highlights of a D1 round once, but usually talk for ages about awesome oval racing in the US /sarcasm

Havent any Japan residents heard of "Option TV"? Usually on Thurday night at about 11pm? (well it *was* on, havent seen that show for months now) Option TV didn't just focus on drift, but also circuit, drag, new parts, interviewing tuning shop owners etc. Cool show but always too short! It only went for 30mins or so. They always had this cute girl doing the interviewing, soooo cute because she knew so much about cars. REDFC: Akeenan watches alot of Japanese TV, he didn't say they have lots of shows about local drift??? Maybe Japan residents are best at answering this thread...

Canada taking all the GT-Rs? So theres 1 ebay auction what makes you say that? Still, I'd MUCH rather have GT-Rs go to Canada than the US thats for sure... at least Canadians (as far as I know) have better taste in modifying. I'm still waiting for a US delivered GT-R to get a S2000 headlight conversion or something...

Btw, I haven't really found a site as good as SAU, SDU or GTROCUK in Japanese... as far as I know clubs/message boards are divided down into prefectures so that only locals tend to read your message... not like a national thing. The other thing I noticed was that with SAU etc, it's a nationl/international family of enthusiasts, whereas in Japan you get all sorts, not necesarily guys that know what they're talking about... more like they got a Skyline so they could be part of a club or something??? Now I'm talking about Japanese social issues... a little OT. But anyways mate thats just what experiences I've had.

Best and busiest? To be honest, thats never been my criteria when looking for a Skyline chat room in Japanese, but you could try the old favourite GT-R Owners Club. Personally, if theres any kind of technical advice I need, I go to HCR32.room seeing as I have an HCR32... But all this is useless if you can't read/type Japanese...

DCD: yep, gonna leave the mirrors and front lip like that... in fact now that you mention it, the lip is painted already Nissan 638 black cheers REDFC: thanks mate I tried to match the front lip to the wheels as best I could, the wheels are a dark metallic gunmetal... but I know what you mean about the grey maybe looking better (a la wine red R32 GT-R front lip colour). The 'cooler was Y40,000 from Yahoo auctions Japan.
