  1. presuming you are looking for R33 from your sig., but you can try noltec, they do bushes for R32s and others etc.
  2. Hi Guys, I did a search but couldn't find the answer I was after. Do the V35 sedans come with a limited slip diff as std or as some sort of option pack? Cheers Stephen
  3. yes, I have some pics. here they are. knuckle does not come with top arm (its just to show that its the left knuckle). PM me with your details if its the right one. My shed is almost empty now, I only just sold the LH hub a month or so ago ... Cheers Stephen
  4. Hi, I have an R32 GTR/GTS4 knuckle passenger side knuckle for sale. Yours for $75 plus post. Let me know if you are interested. Cheers Stephen (located in Canberra)
  5. the fluid solunds quite low in the attessa resovoir, try topping up the attessa fluid. The reading needs to be done whilst the car is on - as the system has then primed the clutch pack ready to activate the FWD when necessary and the fluid drops in the tank as a consequence. The attessa computer may be playing up because the level may be moving below 'low' sometimes when you are driving. Maynot be the problem but probably one of the easiest solutions to try. P.S. could also be an air lock problem in the attessa, did the guys who did the clutch disconnect the attessa when the clutch was fitted. Its a pretty easy thing to bleed on the R32s, not sure about the R33s. Q; with the 'Field Electronic Torque Split Controller' turned off, does the car revert back to the OEM attessa controller? if the above don't fix it then it might be an idea to remove the 'Field Electronic Torque Split Controller' or atleast check the connections where it joins the wiring loom. good luck.
  6. get them to jack up the rear of the car - secure with axle stands etc. With both wheels off the ground, grab each back wheel in turn at a quarter to three and push/pull alternately - trying to steer the wheel. If you can feel ANY movement then somethings worn! most likely the bushes and the rear steering links. This will give the car more than the 1 deg rear steering that Nissan intended.
  7. Hi, looking for reviews on the V35 300GT (not just the G35 ones) and came across this one from channel 4, a little old but still intersting to see another view point. Thought it may be useful to others contemplating... http://www.channel4.com/4car/rt/affordable...road+test/262/2
  8. vl commodores came with the RB20E in NZ as well as the RB30! if you can't find a skyline so powered.
  9. I would have to say the GTR, namely horsepower / weight similar? traction superior gearbox changes faster launch control For the Ford to be quicker, - it needs to match the traction (i.e. not one of those dodgy systems where the car puts on the brakes to stop wheel spin in acceleration. So without AWD, and assuming a good TCS then it would need the right tyres to make up for this - gearbox either needs as quick a gearchange or no change at all i.e. 1st gear all the way to 100km/hr launch control or an ace driver to make up for the balance of revs/wheelspin without smokin' it or bogging down So it might be possible with equivalent power/weight and an 'ace' driver to keep up / maybe win but then the GTR will have repeatable performance. A guy I worked with modded his XR6T so it had 355hp at the rears and it used to freak him out, the traction control would cut in and slow the car down enough to make him think he was going to get t-boned! it shows that a RWD TCS is not really a match for an AWD Also if you haven't seen this article from Edmunds, then it is not too bad a read - especially for Nissan fans http://www.edmunds.com/apps/vdpcontainers/...rticleId=124017
  10. The rules that were in effect when i brought my GTS4s into OZ a while ago were that you had to own and use the car for 12 months before you could privately import it and then the car had to be on the DOTARS list of approved cars to bring into AUstralia. Cars that are sold new in Australia generally can't be imported in unless you get around it by the model year etc as with some of the imports. You could always check with Dotars and see if a 2007 or 2008 car is eligible as a private import, as the OZ delivered ones will be 2009 models won't they? and then move somewhere for a year and then get one second hand (somehow) inported to that country...
  11. there should be another silver sticker on the cover and this is what the mechanics write on, normally pulled off cars when they don't want you to know the kms done. I have had two r32s which both had the stickers on them with the kms they had changed the belts.
  12. just wanted to know if anyone has got the aussie setup teins, I remember being at Fulcrums in Brisi just over 2 yrs ago and they were looking for skylines to trial teins on as they had the japanese engineers coming out to Oz to setup the shocks for aussie road conditions... if the teins from Japan were so great for aussie roads I don't think they would have bothered sending out their engineers. I remember putting some Bilsteins on my r32 gts4 sedan and they were 'track' spec and I thought the car was really unbearable on some of the roads around Slacks creek - Brisi, and that was with std springs! I don't now how some of you guys can put up with these extra hard springs on Australian roads. Matched springs and shocks are definitely the way to go!
  13. Can't really add anything to this entertaining discussion but these two are not too bad an example of recent Skylines Not the latest GTR but still desirable! nismo tune 34 http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...amp;Make=NISSAN a nice V35 HKS spec car http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...amp;Make=NISSAN
  14. Not sure if this is the one where the latest GTR made an appearance, but maybe worth watching...
  15. I would suspect the tensioner bearings for the noise first and belt (as in belt not fitting the gears neatly) second, more than likely the warn/loose old belt has reduced the tension on the tensioner bearings etc and now that you have put a new belt on it is highlighting a problem that was already there - due to the extra tension on the bearings. Another thing that may be contributing to the noise could be the extra strength the blue gates belt has/retains over the std belt, to me this would make sense that the belt must be less stretchy than the std and therefore this would also mean the bearings are being submitted to extra tension and cause any wear in them to be more easily noticed. I have used Gates belts on a few engine rebuilds in the past and never had a problem with any of them. If replacing the bearings doesn't fix the noise and your gears are in good condition(i.e. no obvious damage) then I would be making a complaint to Gates directly, I am sure their engineers would be interested if there was a problem i.e. belts not meshing fully with a cam/crank gear...
  16. I just found out about the GTRs appearance at Goodwood and was pleased to see the pics and video here. The pics and video are quite good. It will be interesting to see if they actually do much to the front or the rear -of the car, I expect anything to be minor since they released all those proto pics a while back - it can't be to easy to make completely different fronts and rears to complement/go with the dominant side profiles of the vehicle! The price is pleasing also (55000 pounds which is around $125,000 AU plus whatever), but with the numbers that the car would probably sell here in Oz it might take a fair while for them to become available on the 2nd hand market. I'm actually beginning to agree with others and think it might be better if AU doesn't get it officially because thats it around the money that a R34 GTR was worth - it shouldn't take too long for a grey market to appear .t
  17. Have you seen the latest Cimas, theres a 4.5 V8 awd version - might be better as it will be suited to a car (i.e. diff/gearbox setup) and not a hulking great ute.
  18. something about those arms looks odd, do they have any offset like the std arms? almost like the upper arm is swinging in the wrong area under guard...
  19. Hi, don't have a tensioner, but if you aren't able to source one off of the forums, try this place in slacks creek/underwood or zillmere - 'Bearing traders'. I used the slack creek branch to get a lot of bits for my R32 -, they had these on the shelf when I needed them (at a time when R32 bits were hard to get a hold of - and I didn't want to pay autobarn prices!) and a good price also - worth a call. 07-3808 2766
  20. from memory the engine block is different on a gts4 to a gtst , the gts4 has the big bolt holes for bolting the sump/front diff to the engine, it has the smaller holes for just bolting a normal sump to it also. Making a gts4 motor into a GTSt motor would work but I don't think you can go from a gtst to a gts4 because it won't have the bolt holes for the front diff... I maybe wrong but I would definitely go and look at a GTST block and see if it has the holes for bolting the front diff to before I bought one.
  21. another thing is the front gtr rotors are thicker...
  22. Iv'e seen a v6 out of the 300zx(90's model) in a silvia, it looked like there was more room round the engine than in the Z. Don't think there are too many unqiue Nissan conversions left to do these day considering how easy it seems to be to interchange the engines in the skylines etc., even the factory put 4 cyl engines in R32 Skylines for the extra cautious driver...
  23. I Don't think it will be $150K prob closer to $100K, look at how much of a price drop the 350Z was to the 300ZX, the ZX turbo was around $100k and the 350Z is about $65K. Australia will more than likely have to wait, once the Yanks start buying them in LHD. I don't think there has been such a buildup to a car like the new GTR recentlyand demand will be high, pushing us down in the list for markets to get the car - if we get it. So far in the GTR history - Australia got the R32 officially, UK the R33 GTR, NZ the R34 GTR plus Japan of course. SO it will be interesting to see how the new GTR gets released around the world.
  24. It depends on what bushes you are talking about, some of them require a pretty major effort to replace, did they list what bushes they are talking about.
  25. Just seen it too, Skyline looks like a good performer. All the cars looked pretty good drifting, especially the Lexus. Beemer looked like the best on the track, with the Skyline holding it up slightly. Skyline had pretty good acceleration but prob lacked a little in cornering ability.
