  1. but ive been told that those settings cant be inputted by the hand controller & must be done by a tuner with datalogit? i think thats what he meant anyway when he said this- " If you do a DATA INIT, you re set the ecu to the original RB26 maps. Unless you have access to Datalogit, you don't know what's going on with your existing AFM ramps and the other variables in the unit. Every item has a ramp rate and they're not accessible via the hand commander. " my first preference would be to a 'data init' & change the afm correction & injector correction/latency so as Paul says it would become a rb20 fc. that seems easier??
  2. ok i just got a pm from someone who has some great advice- "My suggestion is DO NOT re init the PFC. Leave it alone and tweak the IGN and INJ maps via the commander and you air/fuel gear to make the car drivable in the short term. When you get to a tuner with Datalogit, he can save all the existing info, then re-init the pfc, dump the relevant info back in the pfc, do the idle learn and finally start tuning." so if i do this i should be ok. thanks for the help people!
  3. ^im not sure, i think it is running a loom adaptor only. cheers
  4. yeah will definately be getting tune, i just want to fit all the hardware first cheers
  5. i want to plug it in and have it running asap on a 'base tune' im not going to drive it hard at all (& run very low boost) also i have a wideband gauge to keep an eye on afr's once thats ok i will fit my turbo. then i will buy some injectors & a afm. i might fit them myself especially since i should be able to adjust the fc maps/settings. then after that i will take it for a tune. so thats why i would like to get the pfc running on stock injectors/afm. cheers
  6. thanks yeah this is what im interested in, all i want to be able to do is set it for a base rb20 map. (im running stock injectors/afm for now) so its just a matter of inputting the injector & afm specs after data init & it will be driveable? cheers
  7. i believe it that it works, i just want to know if i can get it working in my car asap with stock injectors & afm cheers
  8. i made this thread before i got that info off you via the fone. cheers
  9. Hi, im buying this power fc. it is a rb26 pfc that been changed to suit rb20 with a patch loom. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb...Fc-t223618.html if it is reset back to the base map, will it be able to run on stock rb20 injectors & afm? im thinking that resetting it back to base map it would expect there to be gtr injectors installed. Apparently it did run with the rb20 afm, but im not sure on the injectors. i have a wideband so i might be able to adjust it to get it running, but seems to me i would need to adjust the fuel map for smaller injectors than the more usual upgraded ones? i will be upgrading injectors & afm later but i want to get this fc running asap. thanks
  10. looks like ive found one now thanks
  11. maybe he was only going to use that speed legally, having a very fast car does not make you a hoon. its what you do with it that does. who gives a fig what the media thinks or tries to portray, if hoons are in the wrong go to town on em, if they get involved in someones elses bad driving leave em alone
  12. well by the sound of it he wasnt at fault so why should he be?
  13. ^thanks, thats what i wanted to hear!
  14. sorta on topic but does anyone know if rb20/25 exh manifolds are different at all? reason i ask is the to4e turbo i have is supposed to bolt up to my stock mani & if the rb25 is different in any way it might be good to know. thanks
  15. lol was a gunmetal grey 1982 911SC coupe sport pack -forged 5 spoke fuchs rims, tail, front spoiler, black leather interior. 3.0l flat six 160kw was a nice car. the 944 was much quicker at wanners tho. cheers
  16. sorry to drag up an old thread, but dont all map based ecu's need throttle % input? i had a ancient map based haltech e6a & that was . im only asking cause im considering a s/hand microtech lt12s
  17. agreed, i had a emanage blue tuned on my evo 6 & it drove great & made excellent power. little bit more than a evo 6.5/tme with slightly more mods & autronic. both tuned at asg in perth too.
  18. ok firstly you can plug the ecu in & it will drive just the same as it shouldnt have any maps/tune in it. (on the stock injectors) install the turbo yourself if you can at the same time. drive to the tuner to get it tuned & injectors installed. i had my emanage tuned at asg by andrew from hyperdrive (trust dealer), just after he tuned my evo 6 he went over east for a emu tuning course. it took just over 2hrs for him to tune my evo 6, power went from 240hp on asg's dyno to 300hp from the tune alone and about 5 more psi. (was running 20/21psi on a basically stock evo 6 with exhaust, pod, ebc & emu) car was a bit of an animal after that lol btw not sure what the issue would be for the fuel maps, it will allow bigger injectors & it also has an extra fuel map for extra injectors. also can buy a map sensor if you want to run with the stock afm or a bigger afm.
  19. i would put that down to the lumpy/falling boost curve
  20. i park my hr31 in the city. as i was leaving the carpark i realised my indicators were playing up. i though a bulb had just blown, i got home to find a front indicator (rectangle one in the bumper) was missing completely, not just the lens the whole lot including wires & plug! r31jspec from r31 forums had a spare he gave me for free
