not keen on the polished rims, std finish only. sorry. -
Looking at booking a 6pm virgin flight to cbr leaving at 6pm sunday evening, will i have enought time to make it there? race starts at 2pm and goes for an hour forty, say finishes then at 4pm. Allowing 45 for check-in, can ill make it to the airport in 1hr 15? Can take a cab, though would prefer cheaper option. Also, having never been to the gp here, where should i be looking to sit if gen admin? should i take foldup seats or just a rug or what? do you have to get there early to get a decent spot and mind it all day like i suspect?

Removing Cam Cover! Bottom 5mm Hexs
neergnevets replied to neergnevets's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeh, rb26 sorry. yeh it is crazy to think all that must come out, though before i waste all my time doing so, figured id ask the question. Also, there is a small coolant line running in front of it. I assume that doesn't have to be taken off to just remove the cam belt cover top section right? -
Can't access the bottom two hex bolts, have both an allen key and 5mm hex socket, though on the right the ps pump is in the way and the left, the fan is in the way. Do you have to remove these? What tools have you used to remove these two?

Who Makes A Good 3" Catalytic Convertor
neergnevets replied to Forged's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I read an articel in a HPI mag saying quite the opposite of what has been previously stated. A stock exhaust with good metal cat made more power than a big aftermarket exhaust with avg cat. Basically claimed that diameter of cat back makes no difference and no advantage over the std exhaust on the bnr32, and all power will come from a quality cat. -
Own an R32 GTR, came with Earl's remote oil filter, now looking to add a cooler. Plan on staying with Earl's products, and now need help deciding which parts to select. http://www.earls.com.au/category.php?ID=6 1. Which size oil cooler would best suit the gtr, used for track meets, not really racing, 5-7 laps max type thing & where should I mount it? 2. How long are the hoses I will require? Filter mounted on strut tower in usual spot. 3. Hoses I am currently using are an Earl's stainless braid. No idea of the measurements, what diameter lines should i get for the cooler and is it worth upgrading all lines to the better quality product on the earl's website? 4. Any advice on fittings? Planning to just run with what they recommend. 5. Anyone know if the earl's sandwhich plates ever have guage outputs on them? Haven't made the effort to have a look at mine, doesn't appear hopeful. Are the Just Jap plates alright?

New price, great value for top quality rims. Tyre shop guys were very impressed by the workmanship of these rims. -
If you have either, be sure to give me a call on 0410378429. Noticed there was a stock exhaust in the 'lend me' thread, don't suppose there is a price on that?

Still available, can throw them on a greyhound bus and have them sent to your nearest bus stop overnight or same day. -
Yeh my order being processed at the moment is also taking forever. Ordered nearly three weeks ago. I have received two items in this time from SLIDE that were delivered within six or so working days. It should be made more clear that he does not have the items in stock as the actual shipping time doesn't appear to be the problem. I would understand a tomei oil pump taking a week or so longer, though i ordered Defi guages and a Power FC. Pretty run of the mill.

My new car has two fatter guage yellow wires running to the fuel pump in addition to the standard wiring it appears. Somewhere between the pump and under the dash the yellow wire becomes one (assume there is a box or something behind rear seat), with a fuse attached before it reconnects with the factory wiring under the dash. Car was running fine, though all of a sudden I can't hear the pump prime at startup, and needless to say, car doesn't start. Thought yellow wiring may be a home made kill switch, though can't seem to find any switches along the yellow wire. Car is stock so can't understand wire a big enough fuel pump that warrants bigger guage wire would be installed? Anyone seen this before? Any ideas on where I should be looking for the problelm?

There is obviously still a heap of them out there, though it is becoming clear that good examples are proving hard to find. Prices seem to have bottomed out at around $20-$25k and have been there a while. Looking at the price of a 240z these days, it doesn't look like it will be too long before we see an appreciation in prices for the BNR32 and at least see it keep pace with inflation. I don't think buying one will make anyone alot of money for a few decades yet, though it is difficult to find a car that matches the GTR's collectibility for that era and I would think within 10 years they will start fetching a pretty penny. What are your thoughts?

thanks mate, though i am after a single din unfortunately. sorry, should have mentioned that.

As topic says, anyone know of an R32 being wrecked in Canberra? Ideally a GTR, though any R32 would be helpful. Chasing a few std items.
-
Does anyone have a factory nissan cd player? or the original bnr32 tape deck? I would assume somebody must, at different times i've had several stocked up in garage, just none when i need one. placed an ad in the wanted section and got nothing. give me ca call if you have anything, steve 0410378429

haha. not to say you are one of them Gengis, though it reminded me of my pet peeve 'those who think negatively gearing is a good thing'. It means you lost money. You may be happy at tax time for reducing your losses by 30% (marg rate for most of us), though for the other 364 days you were losing more money than you saved in tax. Tax savings are no reason to buy an investment property.

Australia is a strange place when it comes to everyone's desire to buy property, it is stupidly inflated. Any economist or banker in martin place will no doubt tell you it is wiser to use other investment vehicles. Why run with a completely undiversified investment, using usually at least 80% leverage and is the least liquid investment you'll probably find? It is just crazy the way people follow the masses. Put it this way, everyone knows somebody stupid who has purchased investment property, they are everywhere. Everyone thinks they are an expert when it comes to property. It is these people that have inflated its cost. However, this self perpetuation can't continue forvever. If you like property, why wouldn't you buy $150k worth of shares in a couple of property trusts/managed funds instead? Use your head. To afford a $50k vehicle you want to be earning around $100k, at your age I doubt you are and buying any car over $25k is stupid regardless of how much enjoyment you get out it. Just my 2 cents, I'm an accountant, couldn't resist.
