Unfortunately, some members are under the illusion that SAU SA will be under a dictatorship. Far from it. I'm simply getting the club off the ground ... even if I gotta upset some people, I don't care. The Constitution is written in such a way that no person can elect themselves to a leadership or support role. The interim committee will be the body to nominate persons for positions within the club, which will go to a vote by paid members. Therefore I've pretty much written myself out of any leadership ... I probably wouldn't have the time anyway. The club has not even established its Club Committee yet, but still some people are saying they're not joining because of certain people they know having a hand in putting it together. Too many people getting ahead of themselves and being extremely judgemental with so little information and mostly assumptions. They can believe what they want ... they're wrong. There are more than a handful of people now contributing to getting this club up and running, and I welcome more still.

What you want to know is all in the Constitution. There are many benefits, including a new one not yet introduced by any other SAU club that I know of. Want to know more? Attend the BBQ. I'm not posting an 11 page document up on here, or a summary thereof, for all the little children to poke holes in it and whinge about how their individual needs are not catered for, when they'd never join the club anyway. Want to read the Constitution? Want to really see what the club will be about? Then please attend the BBQ fundraiser. My PM inbox is getting full, so I'm emptying it to keep up with mail concerning the club. If I miss replying to any previous messages, please bear with me, and just give me a nudge when able.

Hence, why I'm not answering the same questions or the same assumptions over and over ... or the bullshit unproductive posts. Funkymonkey has been emailed a draft copy of the Constitution for comment. Prank has not yet responded to me. Sinful has been invited to the meet and a draft copy of the Constitution has been offered to her for proof reading beforehand. I am working on the membership forms now, and will have those ready for discussion also at the Vilis meet this Friday.

Anytime after 7.30pm, but a few will be there earlier (say 7pm?). We move from Vilis to the BP on West Tce (not far away) after that around 9pm. Will you be able to attend? Can I email you a copy of the draft Constitution beforehand, so you can have a read before catching up with us? I've also been told that another (non-regular) meet at Vilis is planned for Sunday, if that suits your schedule better?

I have also contacted Funkymonkey in the interim until I hear from Prank. I'll be sending both Prank and Funkymonkey a copy of the draft Constitution (subject to final print) so they can see the club is headed in the right direction. I'm open to any constructive input they have.

This is a time to be advised of the structure proposed, the Rules and Constitution of the club, meet the Interim Committee members and voice your comments ... and put face to names. Kell, a final draft of the Rules and Constitution for SAU SA has been printed off ... all 11 pages and 35 sections of it. I will proof read tonight and get a copy to you and our other Interim Committee brothers prior to our meeting Friday night at Vilis. After this catch up, I will finish the mock up of our membership form and have the two ready as finals by the 25th. We'll need to discuss a few finer points at our meeting ... or I'm home tonight if you wanted to duck in for a quick chat.

To add to my comments above ... and to answer some of the rumours ... The structure of the SAU SA club and its Rules and Constitution will be presented and discussed at the Vilis meet and the BBQ fund raiser. It is unproductive in my opinion to put this structure out for discussion on a public forum. I have done quite a bit of homework and discussed this with Committee members of other established clubs for their feedback and guidance. I have a short list of those I believe are suitable for the Club Committee and have both (a) the time for it; and (b) knowledge in certain areas to add strength to the club. I will discuss this list with the Interim Committee before the BBQ fundraiser on the 25th, and will be open to constructive discussion about the proposed list to those already involved and whom also have a good knowledge of those potential nominees on the list. Kellie has let me run with the ball on this because (a) I don't mind stepping on toes to get the job done; and (b) I have the skills to getting this club established, and I'm very bloody good at what I do. I only have control of the birth of SAU SA because I am trusted to make it happen, and the interim committee is happy with me to push things forward. I do not "own", nor am I the "self appointed leader" of, the SAU SA club. I am doing a job to give SA its first CAMS affiliated Skyline club under the banner of SAU SA. I have not included myself on the nominees for the Club Committee. If another Interim Committee member or paid SAU SA club member nominates me for a position, I would consider it. But I am not nominating myself as any leader, unlike what has been assumed. Furthermore, the people I have in mind for the draft list of nominees I consider suitable for the positions due to their personality and their involvement with SAU events to date. They are not pre-selected as my little "foot soldiers" or persons to vote me into "power" ... and in any case the list will be subject to amendments/additions prior to any voting taking place. SAU SA, as contained in the Rules and Constitution, will endeavour to be the best and fairest Skyline club in SA, through its members as well as committee members. Therefore, thru the drafting of the Constitution, I have ruled myself out as having any self-appointed control over the Club. After the weekend, I will start up a new thread outlining the status of the club, and nominees for the Club Committee. At the BBQ fund raiser, I will (hopefully) have membership forms ready to go, for those who would like to join on the day and cast their vote.

I have been PMed quite a bit about this club. This is one such PM which I felt should be openly dealt with for everyone's knowledge. I have removed the sender's name just for the hell of it. The problem is that there has been way too many assumptions within the thread. Members trying to put words into my mouth and misleading other members to fearing the Nazis were coming. I am more than open to newcomers. I do not know whatever gave you that impression. I was a newcomer myself last year. I even have a handful of newcomers who have already had a say and are helping putting this together, because they have discussed this with me and the others personally. Basically, anyone can have input into this, but I am taking constructive input from people in person far more seriously than comments in a forum, for the obvious reason. If you're a newcomer and I haven't personally met you yet, feel free to introduce yourself. It is a two way street. Sometimes I get carried away with socialising with the familiar faces, so I apologise if I don't get around to meeting some of you ... but feel free to approach me. I do not set out to ignore newcomers, so lets get that straight. How am I pushing members away with my posts? It is other members assuming, speculating and being negative that have led to some of the confusion. I'm driving this thing forward as much as I can to make it happen, but I am not answering the same questions over and over. If anything I have said is interpreted as pushing members away, that is not my intention. My sole intention at the moment is to make SAU SA happen. A few toes will probably be stepped on, no doubt, but I'm going to get things done and the end result (I hope) will be seen as suitable to all. Remember: you can't keep everyone happy all the time. You comment that I have committee members who personally attack newcomers? I have not even discussed the names of any potential/nominated committee members ... only that I "have people in mind". For the record, SAU SA will not tolerate attacks on any member, and that is written in the Constitution. The Interim Committee at this time are a handful of us (including newcomers) who have been the only ones so far to step up and give this a go ... we make do with what resources we have. I will take whatever help I can get. The Club Committee will be elected by its members and will follow the rules of the Constitution. So it will be as fair as possible. The persons I feel suitable for the Club Committee will be put forward to the Interim Committee for discussion and modification, then open for voting by paid members, as is drafted in the Constitution. I suggest people stop making or reading too much into assumptions and attend the meetings/bbq to discuss to find out some solid info on the new club. I welcome you to come to our meeting to discuss the SAU SA club. I do not see what you have written as a personal attack. I believe you have misunderstood me. But that is your opinion and you are welcome to it. I thank you for your input. I do not set out to make people like me, I set out to get jobs done. Please be patient and understanding.

Tangles, as will be outlined in the Constitution and is the norm for most not-for-profit car clubs, if any club were to be dissolved, any monies in the bank from donations/memberships (or any other source) will be donated to a charity of the club's choice (as pre-selected by the Committee). Example:

BBQ is on Saturday the 25th, the day before the Sunday 26th All Jap Day at the Bay. So its next weekend. If you're down this weekend, you can tag along to Vilis Friday night? Or arrange a specail catch up with you for Saturday?

House extension mostly ... naturally. Got half the roof on now. Threw on a few DVDs I've been meaning to watch again. Cleaned by pool. Did some bloody homework for TAFE too. ... plus did the usual 'drop in on family'

So how was everyone's Easter?

I've been working on this over the weekend ... amongst other things, like enjoying Easter with my family. I have pieced together a draft Constitution for the club. The structure of the club will be outlined in the draft constitution which will be made available to all attendees of the bbq for comment. Please PM either Kellie or myself for the details of the bbq. Looking forward to seeing the enthusiasts there. To answer a few quick questions (again): yes, the club will be licensed with CAMS. Yes, the club will be open to Skyline and Stagea enthusiasts. Want to know more, come to the bbq. I will be in contact with persons I believe would be great for the Committee (subject to member votes) ... people who I hope would have the time. There are members/moderators I'd love to approach, but I am aware they have busy lives. Therefore we will made do with those who have the enthusiasm, skills, and time to assist.
