Working my ass off today ... Thanks to Damo (tryandcatchme) for loan of the ladder and lending a hand to get the purlins into place ... 5 more to go, but can't be arsed doing any more today. Now you can see the shear size of the house extension. 102m2 Reckon jumping off the roof into the pool would be immature? My back yard is an absolute mess now ... Roof sheets go on this week right after I fit the remaining purlins. Then I fit some tension bracing, before starting to fit the floor beams and floor joists. Time for beer ...

You also need to loosen the pulley nut itself, as that locks it into place.

Yeah, it sounds like a minor screamer. Which I had always assumed was just the wastegate opening and the fact it has a bellmouth dump pipe. Happened with the last turbo too ... leak both times? So its either normal, or I got a small exhaust leak. No performance loss, no loss in boost, just noise. I'm aware of the hose-to-ear trick and I'm giving it a go tomorrow. Only does it high rpm/max boost. Still wouldn't mind just putting mind to rest and ticking that one off the list. I'm certain he was working on knocking me down in price. Asked me if I could take Stagea to boostworx for a check, then if all okay he'll buy. Nope. Done that before in the past. Potential buyer got me to take it to Hitech and came up with false problems and tried haggling for a free car pretty much Then left me with the bill for the inspection. Never again. As is, or not.

I'm sure ATS would have them in stock, but they haven't answered their phone all day (made over a dozen calls all day). Not sure if I have a leak, but I want to rule it out. I don't believe there is a leak ... but, what can ya do. Guy heard the turbo spool up and complained of a failing turbo. I believe its only induction noise (very faint whistle), but worse case is loose nuts or leaking gasket. Either way, I want to rule it out. I've had a failed turbo before and I know what one sounds like. Can anyone tell me if ATS is normally open on Saturdays?

I'll believe it when I see it. BTW where can I get RB25DET turbo gaskets (turbo-manifold and turbo-dump) tomorrow? ATS have not been answering their phone all day ... grrr!

Yeah, I've heard the faint 'whistle' is normal for HKS turbos ... just needed reassuring ... someone else says 'no'. My BOV is recirc back into intake. I'm guessing the higher pitched noise is either the wastegate opening to release ex gases into my bellmouth dump pipe ... or its a loose nut (or gasket) around the turbo-to-dump or turbo-to-manifold.

Can anyone tell me if it IS normal for a HKS 2530 turbo to make spooling noises (like a whistle)? Is this normal induction noise. Also, does a bellmouth dump pipe provoke noise at high rpm from the wastegate opening? (like a muffled screamer?) ... or would this signify a leak between the turbo and dump pipe?

Sticking to my priorities. Didn't want to sell ... no way did I ... but something's got to give. I'll be getting another Stagea, rest assured. For now I'm driving around the silver Stag, which is also up for grabs.
