I have the plans for the house, including services, more than what Council or SA Water would have. Their old, but according to it, the mains supply should have been close to the original slab. I assume the rear 2100mm wide footpath was an addition to some stage and the piping was moved to 2200mm then and not recorded. Seems they had a different way of recording these things back in 1960!!!
Its mains water thru copper piping.
I've already set the footings for the two outer frames at 2200mm from the house brickwork. If I'd gone 2300mm I would have cleared the mains copper water pipes
I might just take you up on your offer. PM sent.
BTW
Anyone got a cement breaker bar or similar for breaking up cement some 2" thick. I wanna remove portion of the path to the backyard.
Hoping to have the roof on by next weekend. Doesn't look like its gonna happen until I sort the water piping out.
More farking money to spend!
I've got a HKS pod filter (with filter) and spare filter still in packet lying around my shed somewhere I think. I clean it out not long ago and binned a handful of items. Might still have it.
Bugger!
Getting the work done my on 'erection' only to hit a snag. Got both outer frames up and foundations poured for the extension, only to come across this when boring the holes for the inner frames:
Farking water pipes!!!
They weren't on any of the plans for this house. Mind you its a 1960s home, so its prob not documented. Now me and the mad scientist gotta get a plumber/gasfitter out to identify and re-route these lines away from my foundations!
This is Adelaide ... full of whingers! Whinge about the international airport noise, whinge about freeway traffic. Kinda obvious a performance workshop will have cars in it innit?
I can tell you now that the police couldn't really do dick. They'd be required to have an EPA rep come out to do the testing. Ambient vs omitted acoustic distrubance above the ambient noise of general traffic. Being on a main arterial road that'd be hard to prove. I think the complaint was more to do with so many imports and their owners in one place at the one time.
Spotted Sled in the family car on South Tce during my lunchbreak.
Figured I was hearing my name being called ... wasn't until you reversed up to me, Pete, that I caught on
Wow ... just had a massive project down at Aldinga land in my in-tray. Time to get back to work. Stop talking about my erection and do something about another erection This is going to keep me busy until the end of the day
My erection is of a residential nature and the land is therefore correctly zoned to be erected within any proximity of a school (there are two schools less than 200m in either direction from my property). So my building erection is permitted near schools
I was going to. But it doesn't fall into the category of child birth, or jokes, or villis, or birthdays, or stereo installs, or holidays, or long weekends ... All my threads get closed nowdays anyway.
I can have an erection 2 storeys high in a residential area, so long as there are no overlooking issues, and I keep my erection setback from the boundary by at least 900mm. I must also maintain over 100m2 of open space in my back yard, so my erection doesn't get in the way of play space.
However, my erection may raise (no pun intended) overshadow issues with our eastern neighbour. He might not approve of my erection. So it will have Category 2 building approval for an erection of this size
Yay ... I get to pour more foundations this weekend for my house extension The extension is 9.7m x 10.6m, just to give you an idea of the steel frames being erected. Finished off the first frame (there are four) Wednesday night, and its dead straight and level. So glad my surveying skills work eh
Tonight I move the gazebo and clothes line. Tomorrow I bore the holes and erect another frame. Hope to have all the framing done this weekend. Roof up next weekend
So thats the plan for the next week, including my mountains of TAFE work, homework and work work!
