R33 Stock Turbo In R34 Gtt
.:: GimpS-R34 ::. replied to .:: GimpS-R34 ::.'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah i thought they would be a different flange when he said i can have it.. yeah i know there is two turbos.. lol.. i shouldnt even have a skyline if i didnt know that.. although i didnt know they were smaller turbos.. and yeah i thought i could jus use one... however smaller turbo.. too much work for a temp thing it seems.. always worth the ask.. gained my new knowledge for the day now.. thanks anyways.. you have pretty much confirmed my feeling it wouldnt be a simple process -
yeah i figured it'd be pretty easy.. i can wire auto electrics pretty easy.. but thats in a commonwhore.. i didnt mind playin with shit in it (for obvious reasons of its a holden lol).. but skyline more precious lol should have a ponder anyways.. looks like a head deck sort of connection.. will have to go through paulr33 pfc stuff.. he been collecting for so long its like a manual.. to which i usually stop reading manuals two sentences in.. lol like a lack of concentration... look at the kitty got a lot of helpful info in there though... good work to paulr33 for it well i know one place you could get 150.00 for 15min lol..

lol look at just japs pimpin ride in the background.. wonder what that puts out on the track lol jus noticed too that the "chicks" talk about "our" license.. i've come to the conclusion they are conjoined twins.. explains the same ip.. logging in and out.. they jus want to be individuals..

Well guys, My question i think will be relatively simple for most peps in this forum 8D my brother in law has upgraded his R33 GTR and said i can have his Stock Turbo and Injectors. But can a GTR R33 turbo bolt onto a GTT R34? Or do i need adaptors? If so is it worth it? The wheel is still ceramic yeah? i assume it should still be a better turbo for the time being until i get a better turbo.. In the case it does bolt on i'm assuming i will need upgraded injectors.. but still his injectors are better anyways.. but correct me if im wrong but isnt there an issue of side feed v top feed when it come to GTR and GTT? Feedback, advice on what you think is worth doin would be great.. also have a power fc which i wanted to get in asap.. but am i worth getting Turbo installed (if there no hassles involved) before i install pfc and tune? cheers
-
well i've heard apc is one of the "better" tuners.. but that could be biased info.. anyone got any pros/cons about apc? they seem to fit the glove.. my mate took his lancer and cost close to $1000 and they said they couldnt do all the work he wanted as there was certain parts missing for the upgrade.. although they was in the car, they just didnt know.. but he said it wasnt their fault.. so he's not happy cause he didnt get the tune he wanted but still says they are worth going to.. i would have thought a power fc would make the tune time quicker? anyone else here get one installed? if so what prices? i smell a bet coming on.. racepace v motorsport...
-
apc said $150.00 install pfc.. then $150/hr for dyno tune... said roughly 600 - 700 depending on the tune required and any problems or so forth..
-
I bought a Power FC for my r34 GTt and just want to get some recommended places to get it installed (preferably as close to beenleigh area as possible (All way to gold coast and up near Brisbane) but not looking on travelling too far.. atm i think it'll be APC.. they seem to have good reliable service and mates' cars have been done there with good results.. just want others opinions.. names and phone numbers if possible.. cheers

hey guys.. yeah jeffboyracer that could be the thing.. i mean it doesnt start spinning but quite possible and im jus freakin out it doesnt do it when traction control is off.. yeah suspension is pretty stiff.. as for engine modifications it's got:- brass button clutch, greddy intercooler, 3inch turbo back, oil cooler.. i have a power fc but not installed yet.. i wasnt saying it was the coil packs.. that jus seemed a main problem with other slip lights cheers -

nah tyres are fine (not new but fair tread).. normal qld weather not raining or anything.. i will have to test with tcs off.. brought it down to coil packs as this seems a problem in r34.. however my problem seemed a little different from the others i found in the forum as my slip light flashes for a few seconds only and doesnt stay on? this only seems to happen on gear changes (not all the time).. usually when i come to change down a gear.. may not be coil packs which is why im asking but seems the genuine response with similar problems.. cheers, will test with tcs off and post results -
I got an R34 Gtt and sometimes after gear changes the "slip" light flashes and power is limited for a few seconds.. i have searched forums and could trace it down to the coil packs.. when i bought it the guy said they had been updated.. just wanna check/confirm it is the coilpacks.. all searches in forums seems like others have the slip light stay on.. but mine flashes for a few seconds then goes away :S and no other lights come on.. could this be the same prob? cheers in advance

Pulled Over For...eating
.:: GimpS-R34 ::. replied to R338OY's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The stupid thing about it all is that the laws arent "clearly defined"... this gives the popos (cops) the power to harrass where they see fit... as Mr. Keets said they will just call what you did as something that can explain it.. yes that may be illegal but its changing the wording.. its quite stupid really.. the cops have every right to give you a ticket for practically anything.. only way to combat it is to take it into court.. comes down to a judge then and how they interpret the law -

Problem With My 34
.:: GimpS-R34 ::. replied to SLODATO's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
sounds like someone just bought their first skyline XD well if your that worried about doing serious damage just get it put on a frieght train down to brissy.. shouldnt cost too much... or if it's only doin it while idling.. just strap yourself in and go non stop straight to brissy... after all this i cant help you with the problem -
Where was his cordia? imo he has a cordia 1.0.. which is his family bicycle with a turbo taped on it... and if i'm not mistaken i beleive his cordia has an rb26 in it? lol what a noob.. probably some nerd without a car who's just jealous cause somebody can't afford a skyline sellin ass down the back street alley... did anyone else notice that in the vid some of the lines had 'P' platers on them.. he's taken vids of first timers in stock cars lol... skylines prob running N/A someone needs to slap that loser into reality.. next be goin on about how aston martins beat stock skylines.. or even better *PROOF MY STOCK CORDIA TURBO BEAT A LAMBORGINI"

As a daily driver you get the average fuel out of it... but as always depends on how heavy footed you want to be.. As for the car requirement you want.. you want a sock car that is what you'll get.. to get your 'dream' car you'll prob have to build yourself... it shouldnt be hard to get a stocker with a few 'tasteful' mods (exhaust, intercooler, etc) however there could also be mods you dont want.. just depends on the owners taste... you need to be careful on a 'cheap' car as most times "you get what you pay for" as the saying goes.. and as beelzebub89 said there are lemons out there.. imo i would check through carsales.com.au as you get quite a variety of cars.. its popular.. and imo is very well layed out (not unlike the trading post which i find a nuisance) however if you are flying over from NZ 9if your not here already) why not broaden your search to surrounding states as you get more variety and a better chance at finding 'the one' then jus drive the rest of the way to sydney? lowering with king springs cost between 2-3k with king springs on my vt.. totally different car however.. thought it would give an estimate

Omg! Why Are R34 Gtrs In Vic So Expensive?
.:: GimpS-R34 ::. replied to Phatboy's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I would have thought a bigger market would attrat higher selling prices :S i would definately go interstate... any R33 GT-R's (import landed in Vic) or my r34 i got from Vic.. nah it wont cost double stamp duty as you jus de-register the car in NSW 9or whichever state you buy) and re-register the car in Vic... this would incur the extra cost of a new safety cert. in Vic of course but still is alot cheaper than buying for over 5k more then you just pay the stamp duty in Vic And it's like Owgasm said.. it's not alot to put it on a train or truck and ship it to Vic... however if you got the spare time you could have an excellent road trip on the way back and on those empty roads you could... well you know break it in XD... As for the extra hassle??? well there would only be a hassle if there was mods that are aloud interstate that you arent aloud in Vic.. then you couldnt get a safety cert. in Vic.. unless you got friends in the business of course... for example it seems like your aloud NOS in your car if you live in NSW??? but here in QLD ur not even aloud to have the lines for NOS anymore (people running fake lines to look as though NOS not set up caused this law to come in so i've heard) Hope that helps.. and correct me if i'm wrong as i'd like to know -
444m but still i think that itsnt slapped far enuf...
