Yes I have a coupe. The ones that I have seen for a G35 have the writing on the mirrors. Not overly expensive but I prefer not to have the writing. Any suggestions...

Ok not getting far here. Can anyone at least suggest how I can get the glass on the drivers side mirror fixed or replaced? Ideally I don't want one with the "objects appear blah blah blah" message on it.

Hi there, I have a few questions about the mirrors on my V35. 1. First up the glass on the drivers side needs replacing as it looks like it is worn & the mirror glass has worn away. Where can I find a replacement? I saw some for a G35 on eBay but I am not sure if they will fit. 2. I read about an option where the mirrors will drop down when reversing. Is there a kit that I can get that will do this? 3. Auto folding mirrors. Not that bothered about this option but I was wondering if there is an option to make the mirrors fold inwards when the cars is parked? 4. My mirrors seem to be loose, not sure if they need to be adjusted somehow but I tried to tighten them up with no luck. Must be a simple fix but hey while I am on the subject of mirrors why not ask! 5. I am also not sure if the mirrors are broken somehow as they are loose & I don't think that they are working properly. If not what are my options to replace them?

I got one of the JDM units which are meant to be a lot better than the Metra one. There were no issues with it at all. Check to see something about dual climate control though as I recall that I heard something about that with the swap over. It cost about $350 inc delivery. I need someone to install this in a manual V35 in Adelaide. Can anyone suggest someone that may be able to do this? Are there any other requirements needed for the installation in a manual?

I have one out of a 2004 V35 for sale with the console in good condition, all working fine. Non-Bose unit, I am not really sure what it may be worth maybe someone could advise me? PM me if interested.

You are on the money with "TVOutTuner" & it will mirror the iPhone on the screen via composite. The "mimic" touch screen mod will allow the touch screen capabilities via a jailbroken iPhone & the add on touch screen overlay. With the iPhone 4S it still hasn't been jailbroken so the "TVOutTuner option is not available. The "mimic" info is discussed on another thread on here. With the iPhone 4S the mirroring is possible as I mentioned by way of the Apple Digital AV adapter & then running it through a HDMI to composite converter then into the screen. This is an bit of an expensive way to get the functionality on a downgraded resolution output. I guess in simple terms without even discussing the touch screen capabilities of another higher resolution screen I would basically like to know if the original V35 screen can be swapped out for a higher definition unit with HDMI & composite in? For the point of this exercise lets just forget about the touch screen & discuss the feasibility of replacing the standard screen with an aftermarket unit that can still enable the normal functioning of the original screen but with a HDMI input for the iPhone (or other device).

Hi there, I have spent hours on here browsing over lots of information but can't find what I am after so I am hoping that some of the experts out there may be able to help me. I was wondering if the V35 TV screen can be swapped over for a higher resolution version? I was first interested in this when I was looking at a way of "mirroring" my iPhone 4S display to the cars monitor. I have actually found out that this can be done with some messing around that involved getting an Apple Digital AV adapter & then running it through a HDMI to composite converter then into the screen. This would mean that the iPhones GPS (TomTom in my case) can be output on the in car screen. I have tested this on a monitor & the solution works. Before anyone says that I could just get an Apple iPhone to composite cable may I add that this will display the video of the iPhone 4S but not the "mirroring" of the screen including the GPS. While this solution that I have mentioned will work it got me thinking that I am going to spend about $200 to make the output a lot worse while enabling the functionality of the intention. So my question is can the standard V35 monitor be swapped out for another unit? I have found a screen that may do it here, from what I can see it will do NTSC which I know is needed. The unit would also need to have relevant inputs not on the back of the screen but on an input system that would be below it so that the unit can slide down like the original. So first up can it be done? I would hope so & would like so see if someone can advise me on this. Secondly has anyone actually done this? Lastly can anyone suggest a screen that would fit the bill? A lot of screens like this also have touch capabilities so that also opens up some other interesting things. So lets see if this can be done

I have also spoken to the person in Australia who is supplying this mod. I really would like to try it out although there may be a few other options. For me I have an iPhone 4S which for the moment cannot be jailbroken. This means that this solution will not suit me until I can do that. I do have another few ideas in relation to this. The iPhone 4S will "mirror" its display screen to another screen via HDMI & a special cable. This means that apps such as the TomTom GPS could be output. I believe that the factory unit only has composite in? If this is the case then an iPhone to composite cable could be used but it will only display apps that are able to utilise "TV out" so apps such as the TomTom won't be displayed. I was wondering if I could get a HDMI to composite converter so that the "mirror out" can be displayed on the factory screen? Again this may not exactly utilise the mod being discussed but I am curious. Another thing that I would be interested in is swapping out the factory screen for another aftermarket one. However I do not know if all of the standard display information will still be available. If it can be done then a much higher resolution screen could be used along with a HDMI input. This would also allow for a better display & potentially HDTV channels which I believe are not available at the present with the standard screen. Please correct me if I am wrong because I am new to this & searching for information. If anyone has a link or information about the factory screen can you please advise us? I was also thinking that if the screen can be changed over then a touch screen could be utilised along with the mod we are discussing. I was thinking of starting a new thread on this as I have searched the forums & can't quite find the information that I am after. I am keen to do something with this. If anyone has changed a screen please tell us what you know. Hopefully I can get started on this & give forum members an update.

Hey this is extremely interesting, iIn fact it is exactly what I have been looking for! I love the functionality of the iPhone & have been looking for a deck that can do this. WIth most high end decks costing a small fortune & coming with DVD players, expensive GPS etc this will save us a fortune to use this instead. I don't even use the disc player in my car let alone want to watch DVD's. The future is about digital storage not optical media. My only problem is that iOS 5.01 (& the iPhone 4S which is what I have) has not been jailbroken yet. For the moment that means that I cannot try this system out. A touch screen able to control all of your apps & to utilise the TomTom iPhone GPS app would be awesome. So the question is who is going to try this first?

Took it down today. In & out really quickly, I had almost black window tint on the rear window, loud exhaust & big 20" wheels (legal from what I am led to believe) but the guy was really good & didn't even blink. NIce work

I am in a simliar situation to this. I just bought a V35, 20" wheels but legal (from what a tyre place told me) , my exhaust is loud & the window tint on the rear window is very dark. Not sure how I will go. Wondering if I may be OK as it is not one of the turbo models which I suspect they would pick on more. I also have a query regarding the Victorian Registration. Will it be cancelled & returned to the original owner? I have 4 months remaining & would prefer that money in my account not his :-)

Hi there, I have been looking for a very specific car for a long time. I have found one with the specs I want except it is an automatic :-( The car is available at a very very good price. If I was to think about doing the conversion could anyone give me some advice. I see that a lot of these conversions have been done on the other Skylines but in my searches I could not find one that had been done on a V35. Any ideas on the cost & how difficult it would be to get it done? Thanks in advance.

I had terrible trouble at Regency years ago with a modified car. I hope that I would not experience the same thing again. Hi there, Sorry for a bit of a noob question but I have searched & can't seem to find what I am after. I have been searching for a specific detailed car. 2003 - 2005 Skyline V35 350GT (preferably premium), black, manual & with a sunroof (If you find one let me know!). If by some miracle I find one interstate (can't seem to find one in Japan either!) does it have to be inspected when it gets registered in SA? If so is it going to be a headache?

Nice car. It is exactly what I am looking for. Black, manual with a sunroof. I presume that they are not that common. I have only just begun searching for one but have been told that it would take ages to find this exact combination. If anyone can comment please do so.
