Hi guys, i'm thinking of putting an r32 actuator on my r33, so as to run around 10psi all day every day, without the need for an adjustable boost controller. The main reason I want to do this, is so that the engine bay remains stock looking and I can't be picked on by the police. My understanding is that the r32 actuator looks like the stock r33 item, anyone please let me know if this isn't the case. I'm building the car up to be 100% legal. Is there anyway the r33 actuator can be modified to run 12psi? so as to remain 100% stock looking. Right now I have the standard air box and snorkel, return pipe intercooler, and am having a -90bd 3 inch exhaust being built up. The plan later is to hi-flow the turbo and remap the standard ecu. Any suggestions, please let me know what you think. Cheers Ads.

That's when you get the name of the officer through freedom of information and lodge a formal complaint / call the ombudsman right? I have learnt a lot through your posts, R31nismoid (seriously, i'm not taking the piss here). How does one go about lodging a freedom of information request in order to get this information? Do you think $1500 for a hi flow (yet quiet) cat back is a good price?

What kind of muffler is that in your signature? The oval one. Looks great. I think I should get something like that as part of my new exhaust as I've heard they can be a bit quieter. Must get rid of this cannon lol.

I think this is the way to go. Might as well do it right the first time. I plan on putting the stock airbox back on as well and making the entire car legal 100%. That way I can't be harrassed. The only I thing I plan on having which is illegal is the boost controller. If there was some way I could avoid having this, I would do it, but want to run 10-12psi. Any ideas?

The exhaust I have is a full 3 inch turbo back, with nothing but a hi flow cat, hot dog and a cannon lol. It's ridiculously loud, hence why I really need to change it. I'll change it back to stock for the EPA test and then look for something more suitable. Even if the exhaust was CLOSE to the 90db I would be happy. I've been doing some research, it looks like the Kakimoto o6&r might be a winner, or maybe the fujitsubo. Does anyone know of any other off the shelf cat backs that would be close to 90db?

Thanks anyway mate, but i kept the stock exhaust, so i'm gonna change it back on the weekend. I think I might get a kakimoto regu 06&r cat back in the near future. I've heard they're pretty quiet, i still don't think it will beat 90bd though. Probably a bit cheaper than the $1500+ quote I got to make a custom 3 inch cat back that will flow well and meet EPA requirements.

Hi Guys, Dos anyone here know where I should go in order to get a custom made cat back exhaust made up that will fall within the 92db range. My curent 3 inch turbo back system flows well, but is really loud. I'm looking for something that is relatively quiet, yet still flows well. I went to see a well known exhaust place in Campbellfield earlier today and they told me not to bother, as you can't get a decent flowing 3 inch exhaust system that will still be legal. I'm not sure if they were telling me porkies, because I've heard it can be done. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I should go in order to have this done? R31Nismoid, if you're reading this, where did you get your system made up? (I read in another thread that your system is pretty quiet). Thanks people. Adam.

I was lucky. I do have a return flow intercooler though, which the police officer noted. He told me that If it wasn't a return flow (i.e it involved a hole being cut in the body, he would have sent me for an engineers certificate.

I'm down like a hooker's panties. Hope the weather turns out to be good.
