Thanks for the advice llama. Was just reading JCI's policy: We will not cover: Loss or damage caused by any war, warlike activities or revolution, including any looting or pillaging. Loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by, arising from, or connected with: the use, misuse or existence of nuclear weapons.

Nice turnout! Do you guys get any grief from the cops when you cruise?
  4. I found a better video of it with sound effects and BAAAAD dubbing lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDRme0HeXq4...feature=related Also this is good as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=470QssZt-rE...feature=related
  5. Right, that makes sense. But what happens if someone steals the replica plate? If it was the real plate you would need to get a new one. Is that still the case? Even if you make another replica plate, you can't have more than 1 of the same number plates on the road, even if they are all replicas right?
  6. A lot of you might know about this already, but... http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/africa/9812/11/flame.thrower.car/ I love how "the breadth and depth of blast can be modified according to individual preference." For only $655 I really want one. Even if it's just for giggles at the drag strip. Makes it look like a crappy funny car.
  7. Lol, the only thing worse than having a number plate with your own car's model on it is another car's model Dumbasses. Maybe the guy in the merc wished his car was an Evo?
  8. Hey guys, some of these custom plates are quite unique and the owners would hate to lose them. My car had its plates stolen off it last year when I just parked outside my house one night. I had to get new regular plates. How do you guys avoid people stealing your plates? Do you have special license plate frames with unique screws or something? Thanks.
  9. Of course, I forgot about that website. Bass, I thought it was illegal to drive around in plates that are replicas of genuine Victorian-registered plates???
  10. Nah it's not the silver one at the front. That's a R34 GTR V-Spec II Nur. The dealer wouldn't tell me how much he sold it for, but I would think a Nur's about $20k out of my price range I think it's already been bought as well.
  11. Yeah, I will ask the dealer if he is happy with that. If the mechanical inspection won't take too long maybe I can ask them to incorporate it into my test drive to Bayswater and back - 2 birds with one stone.
  12. I found this good site http://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/CA256EB5000...rivate+sellers~ B1, Maybe what you're talking about is the Vehicle Securities Register. Yeah, I plan on getting all the documentation from Vicroads/VSR before I buy. Thanks.
  13. Even if you have already bought the car and it's months down the track? If so, that's great to hear, sh@un. Any idea where I can see this on a website? Tried to search for it.
  14. Cool, thanks. Yeah they sounded decent over the phone. I probably will use them. Anyone had any experience with GTA?
  15. [FROF]? I don't understand. Please explain
  16. One of the Victorian GTR owners I spoke with last week told me his mate bought a Merc convertible (around $250k) from a private seller recently. He ran the Vicroads pre-purchase vehicle check (is this the same as the Register of Encumbered Vehicles?) check on the car. The check was clear and within 36 hours bought the same car, from the same owner at the same address. Is there some 24-hour rule? A few weeks later, the cops pulled him over for something and took his car away as it was apparently stolen, with no compensation. The guy is currently taking Vicroads to court for wasting his cool quarter mil, but no doubt will lose his case, as Vicroads expressly states on the pre-purchase check disclaimer "Information in this package is provided without liability and without responsibility for its accuracy. VicRoads accepts no liability for any loss incurred by anyone relying on information in this package." Now, my question is, instead of relying on the pre-purchase check, how do we make sure that the car we are buying isn't dodgy? Apart from checking the registration, VIN/chassis, engine number and the seller's driver's licence, I have heard of things like making sure the blue plate in the engine bay is printed, not engraved, etc Also noting down the model number and calling up a Nissan Spare Parts centre and asking them about the vehicle. Anything I have missed? Also, is it true that all car dealers in Melbourne by law need to guarantee that any car you buy from them does not have finance on it or is stolen, and if it turns out that in fact they are stolen/financed, then the dealer is liable, not you? Thanks so much. Cheers
  17. Hi guys, I wanted to post this in the local dealers sticky, but there doesn't seem to be any advice/recommendations on any dealers in there, just an argument. I am looking to buy a GTR from GTA (Gran Turismo Autos) on Spencer St. Just wondering if anyone on the forum has ever bought from them or dealt with them before. Also, I would like to get a mechanical inspection/compression test before I buy the car. Is Racepace the best place to do that, as they specialise in GTRs? Bayswater is 40 mins from the CBD, so I don't think the dealer would be keen for me to bring it out that far. I was thinking of using Chasers, as they are just down the road in West Melbourne. I know some people's cars here are tuned by Chasers. Do they know enough about GTRs specifically? My impression was that they tune all jap performance cars, so may not be so experienced with one particular model. I understand that R31Nismoid has said no public slandering of businesses is to occur, but recommendations are fine. Therefore, please PM/email me if you have something potentially negative to say. Confidentiality is assured. Thanks very much. Any advice is great.
  18. Nice footage. Damn... I'd be pretty scared racing around with that F360 on the track. No insurance is not a good thing. Who is in that white R34 GTR? Someone on this forum? Looks nice.
  19. Jamezilla, how do you know all the number plates 1-10 and the cars with them? Surely you haven't seen all 10 around Melbourne? I have only seen probably 2-3 in my whole life.
  20. That's why it's called Need For Speed: Underground I know... that was terrible...
  21. According to theage, vic plates 1-6 are reserved for govt vehicles, Bass. http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2008/03/...5472164085.html Go to the end of the 2nd page.
  22. [GDZILA] is good, depalma. I have also seen on a R33 GTS-T [NOZILR]. Can't deny he's honest.
  23. It's a pity the government has vic plates 1-6. Some executive guy has [7] originally bought about 70 years ago. I think it's half a mil or something. More than the Porsche he has it on.
  24. Sorry, I meant to post this here. I was cleaning up my old photos and I found these. I took these blurry pics on my $hitcam while driving from Shep to Melb in Nov '04. Can anyone please tell me who drives/owns this car? It's been bugging me for a while. Probably a govt car... In case you can't see, the ACT number plate is [1], obviously the best plate in Australia. Would that have been Johhny Howard's car? A lady was driving at the time... didn't get a good view but I guess could have been his wife Janette??
