  1. I was cleaning up my old photos and I found these. I took these blurry pics on my $hitcam while driving from Shep to Melb in Nov '04. Can anyone please tell me who drives/owns this car? It's been bugging me for a while. Probably a govt car... In case you can't see, the ACT number plate is [1], obviously the best plate in Australia. Would that have been Johhny Howard's car? A lady was driving at the time... didn't get a good view but I guess could have been his wife Janette??
  2. Sorry onshu, I don't want to pay more than $50k as I am going interstate soon to look at the sub-50k R34 GTRs they have in NSW. Thanks anyway.
  3. Yeah I have seen all the online car sites but none have what I wanted. OK, I will stick to the SAU general trading forum then. Sorry.
  4. Sorry for posting this here, but I couldn't find a Vic-specific subforum to put this in. As many are probably aware by now from all my questions, I really want to buy a R34 GTR. If anyone has one for sale in VICTORIA for around 50k, and doesn't need 101 repairs, please pm me. Can be any colour, doesn't have to be vspec, can be stock or with mods, anything. Other states like NSW/QLD even sell (what look like and are claimed to be) decent VSPECs for 45-49k! Thanks.

  6. Man, 2 people died. Pwned by falling walls. What a way to go, poor bastards.
  7. And make sure you have more friends than he does
  8. Have a look at this article for the worl'ds most expensive number plate. http://carsguide.news.com.au/site/stories/...te_sold_for_15m "It is not huge compared to my family's fortune,” Damn 20 year old sons of oil barons really have it all in the Middle East. You could buy one of every decent supercar in the world for the amount of money he spent on a wall fixture. I really would like to see his garage. UAE has huge stretches of long roads, I think there is a straight-as-an-arrow 90-km stretch of road that the oil barons use as their private drag strip basically. You can speed all you want if you're rich :sigh:
  9. Hahahaha I'm sure I've heard that word before, not directed at me, of course
  10. Yeah, you need receipts and preferably any photos of your car with the wheels on them. But I really like R-Spec's idea... just "buy" them off him, although he will want to deliver them most likely instead of having people actually meet him. Please post the link.
  11. Dude, sorry to hear that. How did they get stolen? During the night, parked on the street? Did you have the special lock-nuts on them? Hope they didn't cost too much. Less than your insurance excess? I haven't had experience with this, but common sense dictates that you should report it to police, not because they will do jack $hit, but to get the formal report, and then contact eBay with a copy and the seller's details. Most likely you won't get the wheels back but hopefully it will damage the seller's reputation. Something at least. I'm sure you need a credit card to be an eBay seller, so eBay should have all their personal details. The question is, how do you prove they are yours? Are they distinctive enough to do it on photos alone?
  12. Hahaha try Foodstar in Sunshine- all you can eat goodness. So much better than Smorgy's. Not sure about playpen though.

Hi guys Just wanting to know what other people's impression of this is. Does any defectable item eg., turbo timer automatically make you unroadworthy? Because what gives because, your car insurance knows about these defectable items and is insuring your car with this knowledge. But as someone said, there are those clauses saying if your car has a modification that makes it unrowadworthy you will not be covered??
  14. Nice one! How stupid can you get? It might have been the 18 year old boy's first drive in a proper car and he wanted to show off, most likely. Young boys aren't exactly known for their foresight.
  15. Hmm, guess there aren't that many Czech people in Melb? According to Vplates they can confiscate your plates if they could offend anyone in ANY language. I guess the only way Vicroads will know about plates that got through their filters is if other people rang up to complain. Anyone heard anything about that rumour of 7-digit plates soon? Or was that an April Fool's joke? The current plates are up to about WFD-### so they have about 1.2 million normal plates left before ZZZ-999 (of course Vicroads will keep that one, but it would be cool to get it).
  16. Ah ok, thanks. This definitely sounds do-able with enough motivation.
  17. Some nice ones here, definitely. Zorb, F U KEYD might be too racy for vicroads yeah? They say they can just take your plates away without refund if they could be interpreted as offensive in any way.
  18. Thanks for the advice Gimps-R34. But, I think a smaller market means higher prices. The more sellers you have, the more competition there is, so the cheaper it is for the customer. The less sellers you have, the less choice and power customers have. This is why in really remote outback towns everything costs about three times more - lack of sellers, lack of customers. It would be pretty hard to see the cars and organise financial/mechanical inspections, organise transfer of ownership, then get it shipped personally back to Melbourne all on the same weekend. But I will look into it more. Cheers. Michael.
  19. Mr jaydee Just click on my profile and view all the topics I posted in. I am in exactly the same situation and have asked all the same questions last week. You can save yourself and a lot of other people time by looking at these posts. Cheers.

    Lol point taken.
  21. And I would need to get one of those yellow diamond signs saying "Gaylord on Board" instead of baby
  22. Lol! Yeah ok I still don't get the Leb joke, probably as I've never lived near many Lebs. Hahaha, yes I wonder what the reaction would be if people saw a nice 34 GTR with [GAYLRD]. Probably badge and key the hell out of it. Actually, there's an indian restaurant in Chinatown called Gaylord. Pretty expensive for a dubiously advertised joint. Maybe I can ask them to sponsor me! I can race all the track beasts at Sandown with my shiny new GTR with GAYLORD plastered all over it! "Powered by GAYLORD!" "REAR END ME" "BLOWN SIX" "10" PIPE IN THE REAR" I'd do it too if they would pay all my track repair bills...
  23. Sorry, R-SPEC, I'm a bit slow. I don't get the plates.
  24. It's not really the financial hassle, it's the mountain of paperwork and getting time-off work hassle (as I work a lot of weekends). Just wondering if anyone had done it and how difficult it was/any problems.
