    My New Ride

Lol thank god you didnt get a swift. I learnt to drive in one and hated it, looks gay, terrible drive. Jazz is... well jazzy XD
  2. lol what can you say, the man knows his stuff, thanks again.
  3. Not too sure about where to eat but i know the club scene pretty well. If you like cheaper places that are usually more packed, head to the city. The Stock Exchange (Stocky) is small n busy with house playing, decent happy hours. The Vic, across the road is decent, generally a little quiter, good happy hours. Has some house playing upstairs, kareoke downstairs, and a beer garden with live music outside. Union Jack (U. Jays) is nearby, old english pub feel, will have sport playing earler, then a Dj playing house later in the night. Stay away from the paddington hotel, just too busy and expensive. The more classier places, ironically are in the valley which generally isnt classy. Family is the big number there. Saturday nights there generally have big Djs, possibly internation acts, playing in the basement. Usually its some heavier techno down there. It was awarded best sound system in the southern hemisphere so you cant go wrong if you like it loud. $10 cover charge before 10pm, $20 after. Theres also house and trance playing in two more seperate areas upstairs. (its got a bar made of ice its cool) Theres numerous other clubs all across the valley. Head to the far end of it for the GPO if you like guys with spiked up hair and girls with nearly no clothes on. A plus and a minus there. If you dont mind being around gay guys for cheap drinks theres The Beat, just dont go upstairs. Theres a new big club there too called The Met, it has a House hall, drum n bass room, techno playing across the place, usually hard to get into tho. Theres more but theses are the main points across the place. Sorry for the long post but its about time all those nights and money spent could benefit someone else -Burgies
  4. Wow awesome info, thanks paulr3, thats a great help in finding what I want. I find it weird that some people dont even know what they are driving. One last thing, are the AWD constant. Or does it switch on? If so does it work out when you need it or do you turn it on manually?
  5. Ah i see so there is a AWD 33 but its not a turbo. Blah. Yeah i figured it wasnt actually FWD, just ignored that. Unless hes crazy and converted it in which case it should never be sold.
  6. Hey guys, been procrastinating again looking at skylines I want to buy and somethings confusing me. Im looking at GTST 33's and some people are saying they are all wheel drive, some are saying they are rear and one person even said it was front. I know a lot of different variations came out, are some different? Could someone say which skylines are what? would be awesome thanks. -Burgies
  7. This looks sick, awesome work, nuff said
  8. Saw a nice silver one on the burwood highway going past deakin uni round 5 yesterday. Didnt see wat type but i think the numberplate started with IM2. Sounded very sweet. Then a very clean lookin white one, agian not sure what type, stuck behind the tram i was on on Toorak road about 5 min later.
  9. Not sure why but petrol is a fair bit cheaper out here in geelong. Took the train to melbourne yesterday, it was 142 here yesterday and as you said 154ish in melbourne. Geelong wins. On a side note im paying about half the rent i did in melbourne last year for a place 3 times as big. Come join the partay.
  10. *runs away from melbourne*
  11. Personally Ive driven from Melbourne to Brisbane a few times and the trick is being cold. Loud music helps but as soon as you get warm you can start to feel sleepy. I know it sounds childish but it works Music that you can sing a long to or something hard hitting that you might even dance to helps. Just keeping your mind active. Seriously if you feel tired pull over. Your not only risking yourself, but whos to say you wont end up going into a car with a family in it in that second of sleepiness. Just take it easy and take your time, getting home half an hour later isnt that bad if you stopped to sleep, your still alive
  12. Lol you would need one hardcore legal team for that case. Trying to get out of one offence as the other should technically not have happened if the first one could occur. Confusing....
  13. Many threads on this already, from what I have read they are pretty strick, have a read of this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Done-t214135.html
  14. With that many gauges and switches, it should be able to literally fly
  15. agreed. now its a sad day for all of us... who the hell can afford to drive...
  16. Lol no not mine, still saving for one just been trying to find any SAU members in the geelong area.
  17. +1 at hating fat chicks with playboy stickers also pretty much any citoren that has some messed up back on it. Why must you be so abstract that I get sick every time I have to drive behind one...
  18. Corio as in Geelong? But Monash freeway? Where abouts are you talking??

Thanks for the warm reception guys. Sorry to bring up another thread, dont mean to be a whiny P plater. Im not required to wear them in Qld as I had my license before the date of new laws. Unlike Vic there was no restrictions on P platers before then. Thinking about getting it registered in Qld. Thanks again, this is an awesome site with so much info. WIll prob be on here a fair bit as getting a new (and decent) ride is about all I think about in my spare time.

Awesome, crack in the system wins. So i technically dont even have to have P plates up? means less attention for my car. Again anyone out west of melbourne? Sucks cause last year i lived in burwood for 6 months, and lived around all the places you all keep mentioning you cruise around. -Burgies Edit - When I get the car (and money) I intend on joining Sau

Hi all, new to these forums, new to Victoria and new to skylines. Im saving for a GTST R33. Im on P plates and know that you arent meant to drive them, but im on QLD plates and i could legally drive it there. My permanent address is still in Qld as im just studying here. Do you think if i were pulled over for driving it they would let me off after seeing my license? Also anyone from the geelong area? When I get my car I wanna find someone to go cruising with. -Burgies
  22. Does anyone live in geelong? noticed a few nice skylines around here. Keep seeing a maroon GTST 32 (i think) with red on black rims at deakin uni at waurn ponds. Anyone know whos it is?
  23. hmm, im wanting to buy a skyline and im on QLD P plates (read my newbie intro post). Im pretty sure i should be able to get away with it as long as i dont change my licence to a Vic one. Ill just say i drive there too if they ask Ive seen plenty of people selling skylines cause they cant drive them on the new laws in my search for a ride. Perhaps debadging your car so it doesnt appear to be a turbo could help? as long as they dont look under the hood -Burgies
  24. Hi guys. Ive just moved to Geelong from Brisbane. Im saving for a skyline gtst 33 atm and have found loads of help about what to look out for on this site. Its excellent, good work and thanks too all involved. Im hoping to become an active member of the Vic chapter of sau. As i said im new to the area, really dont know anyone and have no idea of reliable mechanics etc. So any help/recommendations would be awesome. Anyone else from Geelong?? Thanks again -Burgies
