  3. I use armour-all on the tyres, I give it one coat give it 20 mins to dry and then a 2nd coat... usually lasts about 2 weeks, then I wash the car all over again *sigh* bloody black car Rob
  4. Guys, My missus has a silver nova and for christmas a couple of years ago she got some turtlewax colour cure car polish. Anyway I decided to give it a try on her car to see if it was any good before trying some on mine Her front bonnet was replaced a few years ago when she had a prang but it wasnt sprayed properly and has faded over the years, so I gave it a coat of this polish stuff (its a liquid thats the same colour as your finish, ie: black, red, silver etc) and after the first coat had dried I buffed it off, it wasnt perfect but you could see the difference. So I gave it another coat and buffed it back and it was getting better. So I went and picked some of it up for my black r33 today and I've just finished applying one coat and I must say thats the best non-professional polish I have seen. It could do with another coat, but it got dark too quickly and I dont have a garage otherwise I'd be out there giving it a 2nd going over. It also comes with a chip stick for doing stone chips, it didnt work too well, but you are meant to use the chipstick when the cars in direct sunlight and hot to touch, I guess so that the stick can go a bit soft and get into the deep scratches better, I'll give that a go next weekend if its sunny. But I have to say give this stuff a go, I've only seen it in black, red, silver and blue and its only around $19/bottle. My front mount cooler should be here next week, so hopefully by the end of the following week its in and I'll have some pics to post! :uh-huh: Rob
  5. When I transfered my insurance from my old bomb to my 1994 r33 gts25t with RAC I was 24 and had a 55% NCB. When I re-new it in march next year I'll be 25 and should have a 60% NCB, so I'm hoping its nice and cheap. The only thing I hate is that there is no market value so you have to put a value you want, plus adding any additional mods to the insurance list is a pain as they dont like it. Anyway, it cost me like $900 for a year as a 24 year old with 55% NCB. I'm glad I waited till I was older before I got a performance car, screw paying $3000/year just because i'm only 19 or something. I dont think people that young should have performance cars anyway, too much power for someone with a small amount of experience, unless they have a CAMS license Rob

  12. Also keep in mind, anyone can pull a good dyno figure, just find the highest reading dyno around and roll it up. Here in Perth I've seen 40 rear wheel HP difference's on the same car but different dyno's. The only way you can seriously compare dyno figures is if both cars are run on the same dyno same day. Rob
  13. From the photo's the car looks in absolute grade 4-4.5 condition. With the list of aftermarket parts listed and the power output of that car $25k is an absolute bargain. I bought a dead stock car from japan (which is what I wanted cos I wanted to do the mods myself), but after dropping $1k on the exhaust, another $1200 on the boost controller and easily another $1k on other small bits and pieces (pod filter, gauge pillar mount, HKS boost gauge), it makes sense to buy a car with the fruit as you pay a lot less than doing it yourself. Now I'm at the point where I want a front mount intercooler and I am scaring myself with the price of japanese bolt on kits, nothing under $1700 + freight + fitting (so probably around $2500 fitted and freight). Just my 2 cents worth about buying parts Rob

I use NGK platinums, I did have the part number somewhere but I cant find it (I'll keep looking). I got them from marlows, pretty common plugs, about $25 each though should last quite a few km's and are gapped at 1mm std. If your running standard boost thats fine, if you up the boost you may want to re-gap them to 0.8mm. Rob
  15. Its ok guys I got one off macka. I live in high wycombe so midland is around the corner from me. Rob
  16. Cool, where do I pay for them and pick them up? if he's around osborne park, I can pick them up wednesday. Rob
  17. Hey boostzor, did you get the 2 sets of ultimates for my r33 and my mates? Rob
  18. Thanks macka, I wasnt completely sure but I figured as much. All will be rectified with the std bov plate being removed tomorrow when it gets serviced. I wish people wouldnt comment if they arnt sure, I'm not having a go, but if you dont know dont comment. Rob
  19. Hi, I've got an apexi twin chamber bov for sale, 4 months old, its connected to the intercooler pipe for a r33 skyline, so its simply a matter of removing your old intercooler pipe and attaching this one and un-attaching the std bov. $350 ono.
  20. I've just removed the intercooler pipe which my apexi atmo bov was attached to and put the std intercooler pipe back in. My std bov is still attached, but has a metal plate blocking it off and I cant seem to remove it (I think its been glued with something on) anyway, will running no bov at all stuff up the car? Rob
  21. Anyone got one? let me know I'm considering one. Rob
  22. I wouldnt have paid more than $25k for that from a dealer, the wheels and suspension would be worth a bit though. If the km's are genuine (unless he's got log books to prove) that wouldnt be too bad. Rob
  23. Looking for a set of these if anyone has them lying around I wouldnt mind taking them off your hands. Rob
  24. I need a couple of sets of bendix ultimates for my front brakes. how much? Rob
  25. I had the oil changed and the filter as well as having some fabrication work done on my stock bov to block it off from the manifold but still leave it on (ie: a metal plate). So all up it was around $250 (mainly due to the time involved in making the metal plate). The oil from memory was around $50 for the 4-5 litres and oil filter was $10-$20 and I'd say it would have taken them around an hour to change the oil and check a couple things over so its around $50/hr labour plus your GST, might be dearer than your local mechanics, but they work on performance cars all day everyday, not family sedans. I wouldnt go to a certain large chain of mechanics after they worked on my wifes hatchback, completely stuffed the brakes and charged a fortune and another guy reckoned it took him close to 6 hours of labour to remove and replace her clutch @ $40/hr.
