  1. I don't see even why you posted this question? It isn't complicated at all. -7's for mor response (less lag) and -5's for more power (but more lag). But you seem to already know this..... Either way your 290rwkw's will be achieved no problems. But you will feel the difference in lag between the 2 set-ups. But you will also feel the difference in power.
  2. Trent you can bring any car down. Cats car would be fine on the condition it doesn't breach the noise limits (but it'd have to be LOUD to do that)
  3. I believe a lot of the gearboxes were EVO's - but a lot of them were on the faster stuff rather than cones. From what I've heard a lot of them that broke were running solid centred twin clutches and really the EVO gearboxes need a sprung centre.
  4. NSW has SBS issues. Enough said.
  5. And it was done on Pilot Sport Cups too I believe which from my experience aren't all that flash compared to the Bridgestones or Dunlops.
  6. I know giant didn't win due to boost problems but that is it. Not sure who was fastest.
  7. Hey guys - if people are coming down and want to make an extended trip of it - the following weekend on the Friday and Saturday the Dutton Rally of Vic will be on in Shepparton. (Sunday back in Melborune). So sign up and go hard! Or just stay for the week and watch. Vic is the biggest Dutton of them all (not just saying that cause I'm a mexican but it is known as the #1 Dutton event as it has been running the longest and generally has by far the toughest field in it for the year). And yes if you are wondering the timing for this is deliberate as there's nothing better than a nice shakedown the week out from a big event. Cheaters FTW.
  8. Stolen from another forum...
  9. So Cam you know you have it backwards when you have an EVO for a track car and a GT-R for the daily right? Here's some of my car.
  10. I've used this one far too many times now
  11. No Scotsman either. So if Aarons diff still isn't fixed then it looks like I'll win by default. Thats the best kind of win in my books (as it is the only one I'm capable of getting).
  12. Did you get one of the short cabled ones like us Ant? If so I might have a fix. I'm looking at entending the cables for mine and ferni's.
  13. I knew I got a lap timer for a reason
  14. That is like saying Mt Everest is big.
  15. My car was running about 330kw's on the stock engine but it was only about 12 months before it was screwed. And I think by the end it was down to about 275kw's.
  16. There is a "fake" red lambo countach that lives down geelong way. Basically it is just a kit car. It was probably that one. So I think you'll find its just a slow car in drag.
  17. Congrats to Mark and Russ on another awesome performance. GT-R's finishing 1st and 3rd as well. Not bad for cars designed in the 80's. Although I still can't believe Mark got beaten at all the track events. That GT2 must have been awesome with a handy driver to boot. And well done to the Hack King James for winning his class in the Aston Martin. It seems this last 6 months of motorsport has turned you into a bit of a driver.
  18. Well after day 1 James Ward leads Class A for co-drivers and finds himself 4th outright on handicap points. Not bad for a hack. And as expected giants R32 GT-R is slaughtering the field in the main competition.
  19. There's 2 full set's of Volk Challenge for sale in the for sale section of the forums currently.
  20. No it is from the P1 international fleet. http://www.p1international.com.au/ They are basically there soley for company promotions. Apparently they could have upto 4 cars entered for Vic.
  21. James isn't allowed to punt the Aston hard or else he'll get fired.... Still - there's worse things in the world than being paid to drive an Aston around for 3 days even if you can't drive it 10/10th. There is a new "Teams" competition this year and I think we'll have to form Team Racepace in Vic
  22. The other thing to remember is (especially when you are still new to track day stuff) just before you get into your car to go out on the track - GO AND TAKE A PISS. If you don't you will put your helmet on, go up to the dummy grid and suddenly you'll think "Damn I wished I'd taken a leak". Then after your session you'll be all fired up and get back and forget you needed to go. Then the next session will come and the same thing will happen.....
  23. I'll start my own thread then I currently use in my GT-R Ferodo DS3000 pads in the fronts and DS2500 in the rears. I think they are great. Can get a little noisy if I haven't done much hard driving but after one good session become quiet again rather quickly. For me I love the progressive bite - but they will bite hard given a firm press. I get mine from John @ UAS and would highly recommend them for a track set-up.
  24. Guys and Gals, I thought I'd chuck together a thread where everyone can post up the brake pads they have used and what they thought of them. I'll try and keep a summary up in this 1st thread as a quick glance resource. I'll list the pads as people post them up under three headings as either track only pads, track/street pads or steet only pads. For the summary I'll do a simple next to the pad name if people like them or a followed by a reason if people don't like them. Also if people can list where they got the pads from that would be great too. If you want anything else added let me know. Track Pads EBC Green (poor performance and taper wear) EBC Yellow - OK but not as good as DS3000's Ferodo DS3000 Ferodo DS2500 (rears) (crumble with hard use) Performance Friction Carbon Metallic SBS Dual Carbon Track/Street Pads Bendix Ultiamtes (Light track work) EBC Green - OK But not as good as DS2500's Endless SSS Ferodo DS2500 Queensland Friction Materials (QFM) A1.RM (front+rear) SBS Ceramic Carbon Street Pads Bendix Ultiamtes
  25. He has a habbit of blowing things up when he drives my car.....
