I've got the stock BOV on my 32 (plumbed back) and it makes a hell of a noise. Is this not normal???? :confused:

On the subject of coolers...all you guys n' gals out there who have FMICs fitted to 32GTT's : Do you run your return piping (from the cooler) back through the original intake pipe (across the top of the RB20), or do you run it to a forward facing plennum? I'm wanting a FMIC and I'm trying to work out any additional costs. Thanks, Michael

FYI all... Picked up some Mobil 1 for below cost (repco had 25% off. 25% is more than their profit margin). Turbo to exh manifold gasket is metal & can be re-used.....ahhh, the things you learn when you're pulling stuff to bits... 46n2:burnout:

Check the gasket from your exhaust manifold to cyl. head. Also check that no bolts have snapped off. My 32 was squealing under load and I took it to the mechanic & the conclusion was an exhaust leak. I checked my exh manifold and 3 studs are snapped off and now my exh. manif. gasket is blown I've got to get the broken studs drilled out and get it re-tapped. Can anyone give me the name of a company in Bris that could do it for me at home?

Thanks Meggala, I found the torque settings on your site but couldn't find any of the other stuff. If you have it posted, could you please post a link to it (for those who are a little light on the brain cells like myself). Cheers, Michael

Help! The head gasket in my RB20 is to be replaced this weekend (with original Nissan gasket). A few Q's... 1. What are the torque settings for the head bolts? 2. What is the recommended Synthetic Engine Oil for an RB20 (up to $50 or so)? 3. What do I look for in a gasket sheet that will hold up to the pressure of the turbo? (I've been told that the turbo will need to come off the manifold to get this done - ie - need new gasket for that...). 4. Any other tips n' tricks / caution points? Any help is greatly appreciated. When I first got my license & drove around in a bomb (stupid & naive - very unroadworthy) I used to get pulled over all the time. In one night (the first week I got my license) I got pulled over twice for 1) speeding & unroadworthy car - and 2) reckless driving (U turn) & unroadworthy car. I was lucky enough to get off on both counts with a warning - and at the time they scared the $hit outta me, and I think that that had changed my attitude on the roads. Due to the appearance of the cars I used to drive, I used get pulled over a lot (because they looked like crap :bahaha: ), but since I've had my 32 (a year now) I haven't been pulled up once. I agree that the cops should focus on the old beat up heaps of crap, because they're the one's that are more likely to cause accidents or death - but aside from other people's horror stories, I haven't seen first hand any incidents where I feel liked I've been picked on - not where I didn't have it coming anyway. Just My Thoughts

Haven't had any problems with my HICAS on the hwy. Did save me from a great mess once though when I saw a turnoff too late and hooked it hard left at (undisclosed)km/h.... Instead of sliding off the road and into that big tree...I was carried merrily on my way & into the corner - felt bloddy wierd! When I first start the car, I have to turn a left & right a little before the steering becomes light again. Also If I idle the car for too long the HICAS light comes on. I've tried running the diagnostic, but it wouldn't work :confused:

My mate's got a manual 300ZX (VG30DE - he prefers N/A), and it's not as quick as my R32, but doesn't do to bad a job keeping up. My 32's also much more agile and predictable than his 300ZX. Also, insurance is a real b1tch for a 300ZX being classes as a 2 seater (unless you go for the 2+2) - even more so than a skyline. 46N2

Just paid for the RB74's & Will be putting them in this weekend Question - why is the price of Greenstuffs @ autospeed almost 1/4 of the price quoted to me by a couple of stores about town ????
