They changed the newish plugs on Monday with new plugs, I do not know the gap but these blokes make these things all the time, you would think they know what to use. The plugs were a little dirty. Paul suggested the coil packs might need changing, I am going to see my local bloke in the morning and book it in for a check up. It is a starting point . Just a matter of what coil pack to buy, any suggestions ? -

Maybe it is just me, I can be a pain when I am being ignored ? Just not used of being treated like this, BUT they say they are all the same ? When you can talk to them they are nice blokes, stuffed if I know My other experiences with them have been good, job done on time and I got what I paid for, this one is different ? -

Yeah I guess that is where I am at, but 700klm trip each time starts to give one the shits when this sort of thing is going on After waiting for so long and expectations being high, it is a downer -

#2 Fair enough , but it was OK before the build and why not fix it while it is there regardless of what made it stuff up. First he said the shaft needed some lubricant and since I complained about that not being done, the story changed to a miss match with the starter is related to a slight miss match between the older worn starter motor gear and the new flywheel ring gear. This maybe so, but fix it before you give the car back ? It was $9000 over quotes given and I copped it sweet, but come on, with a build like this you do not give the car back in worse condition than it came in ? -

Hi Bob If it was $1600 for a " full flex tune " I would have no problem with that, but for a petrol tune it seems pretty high ? I guess I am a bit pissed off with the other shit that does not work after waiting so long 1, Loosing water and they have no idea where it is going, thats OK but it would have been noticeable after the Dyno tune and they drove it around for a few days, It should have been repaired before they told me to come and get it, I was told to keep an eye on the water, maybe I mistakenly read something in this, but it sounds like they knew it was loosing water somewhere? 2. The starter motor stays engaged for a second as the motor starts, this also should have been fixed and I was told to have it repaired with my mechanic ? 3. The motor shit itself over 6000rpm the next day after the tune, Took it back 3 days later (weekend in between)and they drove it around the local streets for a while, made a coupe of changes? and said it is ok, first chance I had to give it a run at 6000rpm + it shit itself again. This should have been put on the Dyno to try and find the fault , not a drive around the block or 2 in a 60 area ? Maybe I am being unreasonable in my expectations after paying a shit load of money to have this job done. You would think after having the car for over 5 moths you would get it right before giving it back. A bloke said it looks like the coil pack could be stuffed or something similar, there must have been a way for these blokes to test the bloody thing ?? You would also think they would be happy to get rid of my whinging old arse and do the farking thing right in the first place ! -

I paid $1600 for a petrol tune and think this is very high, but what do you do when someone gives you the invoice, walk out and leave the car ? What is a reasonable price for a Flex fuel tune, E85 and 98 pump , from 0-100% -

I did not say slipping, they engage as you want them to, slow or just let them go. But who gives a shit, this car is a heap of shit the way it is, still wont go over 6000rpm without going tits up, so much for them fixing the problem on Monday, shit I had to stay another night in a Hotel for them to take it for a drive around the bloke , they should have put it on the dyno for fark sake !!!!!! -

Not having the torque I thought with a more forgiving clutch it would rev threw the initial engagement , instead of that on/off of the OS quad. Not sure what I mean, need a red -

Before the build I had 345awkw and it had to be 7000rpm not to get a bit of lag, would have been interesting to see how that worked with the new clutch. I have some AD08Rs , 265/35 X 18 ready to go on. Do you like your AD08s -

I do that now, this coppermix is easy, well except for the hand brake What tyres do you have on ? I just got a little spin at 5000 and did not expect any ? I think with the Quaife front diff and the Trannie mods it makes it takes off like all the wheels are joining in the fun at the start ?? The difference I find without going to a full power type launch is it holds the line , no wobble just gets going where you are pointing it , before it would want to move around a bit more at the arse end. I am not a real car bloke and find it hard to explain the difference, but it is easier now, smoother and feels balanced if that makes sense ? Let you know what it is like at 7000rpm ish tomorrow, just have to find out -
did you hire the kids Even in the bush the kids love the Skylines , drop my kids off at school and get so much interest, none of them were born back then, guess it is the Video games ??

Will look into that tomorrow, thanks If I change the exhaust now, will that throw the tune out ? What about noise, in a small town I am toast if it pisses people off . Especially the boss Had a chance this morning to go a little harder for a short bit. Let it go @ 5000rpm, a little 4 wheel spin and away it went, into 2nd @ 6500 and a little spin and off it went, no lag Mates road is not that long but will try a 6000rpm launch tomorrow and see how it goes, just to get the feel, cannot really test it, by the time I get to 6000rpm in 2nd, I have run out of asphalt road and his house gets in the way -

not that I know about? They said my exhaust could be 3.5" to allow for better flow, but it is 3.5" so I guess they meant 4" ,haha I asked for the exhaust system to be quiet without restricting the flow, but now it seems to be too small for the 3.2, but ? -

$1600 It is hard being in this situation, I have an expensive build and once I change shops my warranty goes out the window and the new shop does not put their warranty on the car ? There are a few things I am not happy with and will try and work it out first. -

Paul was saying something similar and I will do an E85 tune but not a lot of chances to use it here and I am happy enough with how it runs on 98, it is fun as a DD It will be interesting to see what the E85 produces with this builds specs ?. Looking at some posts it seems to vary quite a bit from car to car ?? Dont get me wrong, this car gets up and goes pretty good and is easy on the bends with the more linear acceleration and the drive train seems great, smooth and planted , but pushed really hard ??????
