Alarms And Immobilisers Questions...
Tommy G replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Anybody know anything about 'Warlock' alarms? I can get one installed for about $250 that is a 2-point, Aussie Std job. -
Just wondering if there is a trick to fixing a loose/wobbly Skyline/Stagea rear vision mirror? My auto-fold in mirror only works on the passenger side. The drivers side is quite loose (has about 2cm movement back and forth) and when travelling at speed, the entire mirror flops around a little bit. I have tried tightening the 3x screws under the mirror but to no avail. I'm not all that fussed about getting the mirror-engine working again, but thought I'd check to see if theres a quick way of fixing it before I just araldyte the thing in place!

I'm after some fitted, cloth seat-covers for my S2 Stagea. Can anyone help me out? -
Still no luck finding any seat covers. Don't people in Japan buy seat covers?! I mean, you'd think on the entire world wibe web I could find at least one pair of seat covers for a fairly popular (in Japan anyway), recent model car. I could go up Supercheap and pick up 30 different types if it was a Commondoor! hehe I did find one place; Superior Auto Creative in Japan, but I think they are purely an upholsterer. I asked if they sold seat covers to suit the Stagea, but I can't make ANY sense out of the guys reply to me... E-mail reply Thank you for the picture. Stagea which you own Grade RS FOUR-S The sheet of a picture differs in form from the sheet of ER34. It is different although it is well alike. Oh well. I'll keep looking

I've just spent about 2 hours online trying to find some fitted front & rear cloth seat covers for my Stagea! Does anybody know somewhere I could get some? So far all I seem to have been able to find are the fake-leather look ones which I'm not all that keen on. As far as I have been told, the seats in my wagon are the same as the R-34 Skyline GT-T seats. At present I just have some ill-fitting generic ones in which are horrible. Many thanks.

We actually sold our '99 Corolla and decided to get a larger car as we couldn't get a hand space between the capsule and the front seats (technically, this is what's recommended).... but the Stagea is no better! We really should have checked this factor out before purchasing. I guess I assumed a 4.8m long car would have a bit more rear leg room than it does! Oh well, if nothing else it was a good excuse to upgrade to a nicer car! We do have heaps more room in the boot for shopping/prams/stuff and once our baby is big enough to sit in an upright, it won't be a problem anyway. That, and it's just such a nice car it's hard to be dissapointed with it in anyway whatsoever.

Immobiliser/alarm Installation Eastern Sub. Melbourne
Tommy G replied to Tommy G's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Many thanks! Sounds like the Mongoose M80 from Stylin' is the go! I will book her in later in the week. Thanks for the speedy replies fellas. T -
Hey all. I'm after an immobiliser and alarm for my S2 Stagea. The car is currently fitted with a Blitz turbo timer and has the factory remote central locking from the key. From everything I've read on here, the Mongoose M80 is the logical choice as it apparently supports turbo timer functionality (ie won't engage immobiliser until tubo timer has done its thing) and is compliant with Aussie Standards. Is this correct? Are there any other good alarms that you'd recommend? My biggest requirement is that needs to be insurable. Also, what happens to the factory button-key? Does this become redundant and you simply use the new alarm's fob to lock/immobilise? Can anybody recommend somewhere around Blackburn/Melbourne's E. Suburbs that can supply and install a decent setup for me? Cheers.

Stagea Rs-four Factory Gauge Cluster Problem
Tommy G replied to Tommy G's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Thats good news, I might not have to worry about it after all. This is my first Skyline (had a 180SX previously) so new to this 4WD stuff. I may have to do some purely scientific research later on this weekend and discover the correaltion between wheel spin and torque gauge needle activity WHAAAPWHAAAPP Thanks again for your help - I'll let you know how I get on! -
Stagea Rs-four Factory Gauge Cluster Problem
Tommy G replied to Tommy G's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hi Gianavel, Thanks for the speedy reply. My car is definitely a genuine Type-S (manual/4WD). I haven't actually dumped the clutch to try and get it to slip - will the front torque gauge only move under traction loss? I thought the 4WD Stageas were full-time 4WD. Is this not correct? Maybe the reason the gauge doesn't come on is because its using 2WD until it encounters traction loss? -
I have had my S2 Stagea RS-Four Type-S for a few days now and am curious as to why the 'front torque' gauge doesn't work. The battery voltage and boost are connected up and work fine. I have had the dash out today trying to install a new head-unit and thought I might as well try and get this gauge working while I've got it all out. Firstly, is this particular gauge only active in models with variable torque splitting, or on all models? I couldn't see a loose plug/loom for the torque gauge, but even if I did find one I probably wouldn't know where to put the thing! Does anybody have a photo or diagram of which wires/plugs go where on the back of the gauge cluster? Many thanks.

Just an update - inspected the Stagea up at GT Auto in Croydon today. It's even better up close than I thought it was going to be. The mechanic said it was one of/if not the best example he'd worked on! Should be right to take home in about a week. Thanks to everyone who helped me out all those months back. -

Hi, Just wondering if these are Series One or Two Stagea seats? Was there a difference? What sort of condition are the seats in, and what kind of money would you be looking for? Cheers. -

Wanted - Leather Seats & Centre Dash Gauge Cluster For Sii Stagea
Tommy G replied to Tommy G's topic in Wanted to Buy
Hi Darren, I bought the '00 Series II Stagea yesterday, so I'll be keen to buy the centre gauges if you still have them. I have attached a photo of the dash - they should fit in here okay? I haven't traded on Skylines Australia before - how do we organise payment/shipping etc? What sort of postage $ would you expect to send it to Blackburn, Victoria? Can you send me a photo of the gauge cluster? I'm guessing there's no scratches/damage? Regards, Tom -

Just an update; I bought the 2000 model Yellow Type-S yesterday! The inspection report came back really positive, and in the photos it looks sweet - it generaly appears to be in fantastic condition. I payed the FOB charge today and should have it on the boat soon with any luck! (Does anyone know roughly how long you can expect to wait after paying to getting it shipped?) Just organising the compliance plate through GT Auto at Croyden now (J-Spec's recommendation). Thankyou to all the people who were kind enough to reply to my questions - you were a big help. T -

Hey Sturb, I'm importing the car though J-Spec, and they apparently use Kamikaze to engineer/comply their cars most of the time. As for a warranty, I don't think I'm getting one. I can organise one through Kamikaze, but I'm told it's fairly limited as to what it covers etc. I'm getting it fully inspected today or Monday, so I think I will just take the chance on it if the report comes back good. The Xenon headlights sounds fantastic. The Type S comes with them standard, but I've read that the cheaper B-Type models didn't get them (or the larger diameter alloys). Not sure if this one has a cargo barrier - I might have to look at getting one. T
