Im looking for a old val to rebuild, VG or VF Vailiant "Hard Top" , 6cyl (prefered) or 8cyl, auto, motor and box cond is not important as both will be rebuilt, ditto on diff, minor body rust ok but must have a good sub-frame, interior wise i dont care, dont need bright work but would prefer if all glass work was there. Im going to be building this with a old school racer/drag look, ie striped out interior, fat wheels-think of the general lee and thats the look im after.

Forged internals and wind up the boost as ive done just about every thing else. Brakes-done Suspension-done Bolt ons-done Remove stupid 400r bar and replace with standard bar to give me that extra 25mm so i can get into my driveway-done 252kwatw at 14 psi now on a conservitive tune but with forged internals and more boost with a nice tune after run in = ???????kwatw Im hoping for 1 bazillion & 11kwatw GO RB25 GO SMOKE THEM BAGS. Take it to Eastern Creek for some laps and a couple of 1/4s.(hard as coilovers so lots of wheel spin i thinks) Hope i dont break it to quickly

Id take either one, sell it, and buy a stocker 32 gtr and a old red 911 turbo with the whale tail and huge simmons , my missus would take the rest to buy shoes. Ditto, plus clean between the cores on the outside, alot of gunk, incects and other crap gets in between the fins and stuffs up the cooling.

Have you got the plugs that the globes go in for the front blinkers.

Could it be the fuel filter, mine got blocked up with some bad fuel once, changed the filter and she was good to go again.

Not sure mate, I'm looking into this as I'm having the same thing going on with mine, rb25 with gt35, tuner recons it will drop between 250 to 500 rpm. Not doing this though till next year when its going in for a rebuild so no answer on this for a while from me, sorry. I'm sure someone on here could give you a definitive answer.

You might be able to lower the rpm to boost with adjustable cam gears, a little bit anyway, that would be a cheaper option than replacing a turbo. I think, LOL.

Just curious mate how do you launch and what clutch you got, ie slip clutch, load it up or just drop it and from what revs. Been practicing my launches at work( got a nice wide and long road on G land ) I either bag it up or bog down but im still on 265 35 18 nankang ultra sports street tyres with 35 psi in them when im practicing my launch. Ive got a gts-t with stuff done, Excedy H/D clutch & plate and ive got full boost at 4500 with a nice linear curve. Thanks mate.

Have you tried cleaning the electical connections, lots of corrosion can build up and make it run like its got a dead coil.

IE No mods at all.(after market exhaust is acceptable but not prefered) Grade 4 or better with under 100K klm In Grey, With current NSW registration. Come home from from work and seen the linen closet open, stange i thought, i cannot remember leaving it open, closed it, went into living room and thought, strange, i donot remember ripping the entertainment unit from the wall and hiding my electronic stuff, every room in the house was the same, 3uck1ng bar5tards. Had to get smashed window fixed and change all the locks as they found my spare keys. I cannot wait till i find my next thief doing crimes as i think i will take out alot of pent up aggression out on his arse. Note to self- get a alarm-a really load one with spears and razor blades and a couple of cops to clean up the remains. Not a happy fellow.
