Im on a buget of $10,000 for motor, gear box reco and enginnering the whole car and im not after huge power, Just more than ive got now, The 25 will give me a easy 300+ which ill be happy with as this is also my daily hack. Im going to go oversize pistons, clean + balance the rotating assembely, head work + valve springs + oil mods + std cams, exh gear and then run it at about 20 psi and see where i get. Getting Quotes now. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ And for all you 30 fans im getting that quoted to.

I go away with work for months on end(between 4 and 6 months usually) and have been told to replace the engine oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid and replace the coolant, then put the car on stands without the hand brake on and have a full tank of fuel and clean and wax the car before i go, on return i do a pre start check(oils and fluid), turn over the car with out the ignition wire a couple of times to get some oil in the head then start the car, go for a drive and let it get to operating temp then replace all the oils and fluids again. Was told starting the car every week or so is bad as the oils drain right down and constantly starting the car is worse than not starting at all. But that's me,LOL.
  5. I thought aftermarket cams would hurt the torque down low, im thinking of what a lumpy cam did to my old LJ 202, it took a while to get going but top end power was good.

  7. Ive got all my bolt on,s done(i think ) now I'm going to have the internals done, what should i do to to maximise my torque down low. Or have i got this wrong and just need to up the boost and tune it when she is rebuilt, I'm getting pistons , rods, bearings, head rebuilt and adjustable cam gear on the exhaust side, What else should i look at. Ive got, TO4 High mount, Greddy inlet Plenum, 800cc injectors, FMIC, Link ECU, Greddy Profect B Spec 2, Bosch 044 fuel pump. I don't want a Rb30 bottom end and will be using the 25 crank. Ive searched around but couldnt find much on making torque only kw.(or are they hand in hand) Thanks for your help.

  13. Ring a importer and tell them you want one, could they find one and what would it cost to import and comply, that should get you a ball park figure maybe.

Im looking for a old val to rebuild, VG or VF Vailiant "Hard Top" , 6cyl (prefered) or 8cyl, auto, motor and box cond is not important as both will be rebuilt, ditto on diff, minor body rust ok but must have a good sub-frame, interior wise i dont care, dont need bright work but would prefer if all glass work was there. Im going to be building this with a old school racer/drag look, ie striped out interior, fat wheels-think of the general lee and thats the look im after.

  18. Also buy a old Vaiant and rebuild it, ie VF-VG, my missus said i could do it, but she said it cannot bounce around when i drive it because it make her boobies jiggle, guess that means soft suspension.
  19. Forged internals and wind up the boost as ive done just about every thing else. Brakes-done Suspension-done Bolt ons-done Remove stupid 400r bar and replace with standard bar to give me that extra 25mm so i can get into my driveway-done 252kwatw at 14 psi now on a conservitive tune but with forged internals and more boost with a nice tune after run in = ???????kwatw Im hoping for 1 bazillion & 11kwatw GO RB25 GO SMOKE THEM BAGS. Take it to Eastern Creek for some laps and a couple of 1/4s.(hard as coilovers so lots of wheel spin i thinks) Hope i dont break it to quickly
  20. Id take either one, sell it, and buy a stocker 32 gtr and a old red 911 turbo with the whale tail and huge simmons , my missus would take the rest to buy shoes. Yes, that is alot of shoes, but as she says, "i need them for work" I would then do limiter bouncing burnouts in my gts-t til it caught fire and/or exploded. ANSWER=PORSCHE
  21. Ditto, plus clean between the cores on the outside, alot of gunk, incects and other crap gets in between the fins and stuffs up the cooling.
  22. Have you got the plugs that the globes go in for the front blinkers.
  23. Could it be the fuel filter, mine got blocked up with some bad fuel once, changed the filter and she was good to go again.
