I like the piccies. Nice lomo effect
  4. shannons - about $900 full compo. $500 flat excess. beats the 1-2k excess just cars impose. if anyone is after shannons quotes I wouldn't ring directly... speak to the dude on this forum who works there and I'm sure he'd be more helpful

  11. If you're going tp speak to Shannons, get in touch with the guy from this board. I wouldn't just ring them and speak to anyone. Shannons will cover you for track days according to their documentation but I don't know how much extra it would cost. As for Just Cars choice of repairer, they essentially let you choose but you have to use a JC approved repairer. That's what I had to do anyway
  12. Shannons are the way to go. However I do believe they are pretty strict on under 25's so being 19 you might not be in luck. If you're going to have a turbo import expect to bent over on either price or policy restrictions with any insurer. If you find one tha is cheap, there will no doubt be a reason for it so make sure you read all the policy clauses. But if you're interested there is a long winded thread here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=12142 _8OO5TED_ (Matt) mentioned he worked at Shannons. I contacted him to cover my car and got a good price and flat $500 excess. His role has changed at Shannons so the dude you can contact now (i think still) is GTRSOUL. his post about it is here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=2284980 - Flat excess - Pay by the month - Will still cover you if someone else was driving (higher excess) etc I was with Just Cars (who were fine) but after needing to make a claim for a break-in and the excess was 1400+ the decision to change wasn't a hard one.
  13. what were the laptimes?
  14. damn it didn't see this till 7:30
  15. White MR2
  16. spotted vange on the way to work today.. twice
  17. makes me so mad. has happened to me several times. I dunno what's worse, the fact they destroy your lock and handle or the fact they are so useless they couldn't get in. die and rot in a gutter imo
  18. LOL not me, i wish
  19. I'd come along to one of these
  20. its pretty cool, albeit a little underpowered compareed to the 'lines as you can prolly see from the last dyno day results. Great fun through the hills though
  21. lol Matt always a work in progress with you. It's bloody immaculate; nice work
  22. i used to be with just cars. the premiums are bad enough.. but the excesses are a joke. Changed to Shannons; was 50% less premium with a $500 flat excess, monthly payments and choice of repairer. WIN! You might wanna give _8OO5TED_ a PM. He works for Shannons (or did when I changed over). err actually he's changed positions just recently. info here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=2284980 Bare in mind though, if you're under 25 most insurance agencies will give you a hard time, especially if you have minimal insurance history. Also, the cheapest premium might not necessarily be the best one to go with when it comes time to make a claim. my 2c
  23. omg that's gold. so good to hear about an outcome like that!
  24. Personally, I have no problem with these changes. I don't agree with the money making aspect of it, as oviously it will cost people when it happens to them, but in terms of learning from your mistakes I think it will make learners drive more carefully. IMO, people should be educated more on how to drive in the early stages of getting their license. I don't just mean the rules and common sense things, I mean the hands-on aspects such as night driving, wet weather control, loose suface control, defensive driving etc etc. Most people have never experienced their car being out of control, so when it happens they have no idea what to do. If I was the one making the rules, I'd make it compulsary for all people to do advanced driver training to progress past your P plates. Perhaps if more people knew how to drive properly there would be fewer accidents. It's a combination of common sense, education and hands-on experience; not just one. my 2c
  25. When it comes to modified vehicles, what is your procedure? I understand all the aftermarket parts are supposed to come off for compliance but do you get to keep the parts to put on later? Does it all add to the cost having to take them all off? How are stock parts sourced? Does the buyer have to buy all stock parts for it? Are there any instances where some mods can go undetected? (for example, engine mods)
