Ok thanks, well i looked at all my speakers in my car and the JL ones are black with their logo on it but the ones in the door look completely stock since they are just grey and old looking. When my music is playing no sound comes from the door at all that i can hear, but when i hit "mute" on my headunit it mutes all my speakers except the door ones which aren't loud at all. I don't have my car right now so when i get it back i'll double check everything i said is correct. But if it is, would it be best i replace the door speakers with woofer speakers? Or just normal speakers? Maybe i should just go into some place that sells the speakers and talk to them since yeah its confusing me lol. Like if i could tell a dude to go look at my car and tell me whats in it and what i need then it'd be cool hahah.

Yeah i know i tried looking up some Acts ages ago before i bought my car since i've wanted neons for a while. Basicly their illegal when driving but legal when parked is what i could gather or legal when stationary anyway. So if they are flashing it doesn't really matter, i'd mainly only have them flashing when i'm showing off my sound system to my friends since they often compare all their subs to each other. I think unless someone can actually hear your music then its pointless to have them flashing since otherwise it just looks like their broken hahah. Also i just looked up what i said in my previous post, it was a music interface that you connect to your headunit then you connect it to your neons to make them flash. But its actually this gay ass chunky looking box that can 'dash mount for easy access'. I don't want that big brick sitting on my dash, looks like a 1980's radio, i was thinking it was just some converter thing that was small and could just be hidden somewhere out of sight like near the battery or something. Anyway reason i brang that up was i looked at the comments about it, one guy said "Save yourself $33 and hardwire your neons to your speakers". Does anyone know what that means?

I have JL audio tweeters and JL audio 6x9's in the back but i just got stock speakers in the door. So would i just put in new speakers and not need splits then? I don't know what a woofer is so i don't know if i already i have one installed in the door =\

Hmm that sounds kind've dumb in my opinion lol. On the street glow website you could buy like these box things that you wire to your headunit and then it picks up the beats that makes your neons flash with the beats so theres no little microphones everywhere. I like things to be very neat and compact in my car, so i probably wouldn't like a big switch box and microphones lol. I

Wow i thought just my windscreen had marks on it. Mine are very minor so i'm going to try the methylated spirits method on mine. Thanks for making the thread otherwise i probably would've just spent hours cleaning my windows, wasting money on lots of different window cleaning products and yet still wondering why they weren't clean lol.

Ok i just read this whole thread from the start. I think it looks cool to begin with. I think you'd be crazy to do that to your car. Sure it'd look awesome, but every speed bump, every pot hole, you'd damage all your front end, side skirts etc since its way to low to the ground for just normal roads. I have a feeling you'd be paying 10k a year at least to insure that thing. If someone opens up their door and hits it into your car, or a trolley hits it your going to need to spend even more to replace it to keep it looking good. Otherwise people will look at it and be all like "wow nice, except for that dent, it makes it look like shit". Also people will key that car, theres lots of jealous dickheads that can't handle the fact that some people actually work hard to achieve things they want. So these jealous bogans just damage your car for revenge. If you did that to a car i'd just do it for looks, i wouldn't bother about spending 60k on the engine, i'd spend 10k or 20k maximum. Theres no need for it to be the fastests R34 around when your just driving at the speed limit, sure you'll be the first to hit the speed limit but you could easily do that in a R34 and only spend like 2k on the engine. If i had the money i'd probably do that to a car too. But by me meaning if i had the money, i'd want everything else like a house etc which appreciates in value rather than spending 100k or more on a car that you'll resell for 30k max. I'd do that if i was rich, like a billionaire type of thing. But even then i'd think its too annoying to drive. As a show car or just driving to very specific locations that you know you don't pass any speed bumps or anything that will damage it then sure, but not as a primary driving car. I've kind've repeated myself in a couple areas but yeah thats just my opinion. You'll be the coolest 17 year old around for a couple years, but while your spending money on your car and others are saving for a house, when they have a house and you have a car, i know what person i'd think is cool. Also being in the army would you even have time to drive it much? None of this was meant to be in a negative tone or anything (you can never tell when its on the net), i'm just saying this in just a general tone and its my personal opinion so i'm not trying to force my ideas on to you. Yeah, my parents want me to get someone else "who knows what they are doing" to do it since they think i'll screw up everything. Also i have this little thing on my dash on the right side of my steering wheel i think it is. Its just like this little tiny rectangle, like 1.5 cm x 1cm or so which has this dumb hook looking thing. Its hard to explain its just stupid, i think one of my friends was like "its a 5 cent coin holder" and i was like "dude.. your a dickhead". So i want that taken out and to be replaced with a switch. I was thinking of this kind've set up (which i have no idea if its possible): Blue neons that flash with music beats Can also be turned on as just a solid light Can turn on when no keys are in the car at all Has a three way switch type of thing, like have the switch be able to have down, middle and up. So down would be off, i flick the switch up once (making it in the middle) for it to flash with music, and then up once more to be on a solid light. Does anyone know if thats possible? Or if it'd be hard to do or is it pretty basic?

Thanks . I'm wanting blue ones, even though blue are like the big illegal colours since all emergancy vehicles have them but it'll suit my blue theme i got going lol. The light that comes on when you open the door in my car is blue, i have blue interior neons (just 2, a passenger side and driver side one where you feet go type of thing), i have blue parking lights and i want to replace my fog lights with blue ones. So yeah blue neons would match everything nicely in my opinion. I'll post some pictures when i get them all installed but it might not be for a while since my car is currently getting resprayed. Also i'll have to find someone to install them since i don't know anything about cars really. I can't get under my car anyway because its too low, and to install the switch someone told me you have to cut out a bit of you dash or where ever you want the switch which i don't have any tools to do that.

Well i've wanted neons ever since i knew that you could actually get neons. So while i care what other people think of them, i am more doing it because its something i always wanted. Some people are saying that neons were cool 5 years ago but not anymore, well i didn't have a car 5 years ago, if i did i would've had neons then. Anyway thanks to those who recommended places that i can get them, i'll definately check out autobarn and if they don't sell them i'll order them off streetglow.

Aah well, even if i get bored of them in a like two months it'll still be worth it. Opportunities will arise when i'll be wishing i had neons installed. I know these sort of things don't impress all you guys, but those commodore drivers think neons are pretty extreme and i'd get looks of envy from them. Also i'm younger than a lot of you guys and as far as i know, chicks my age think their cool lol. I know a bit about courts, i'd take it to a district court to get the minimum sentence if at all. A cop told me that magistrates give you more punishment because they see people come in every day for the same thing and just want to get the message through that its illegal. But the district court never sees anyone come through for those kind of traffic related offences so they are more lenient. Sometimes the district court will just throw out the case completely because they are too busy for that case. If your court case gets thrown out then you don't get in trouble .

Underbody neons simply mean neons designed to go under the car. You would not put underbody neons in your boot . You'd just have normal interior neons for that. Underbody neons are stronger etc so they don't break when rocks flick up. Anyway, i'm not gonna drive with them on all the time, just occaisionally. Like my friend put a shitload of neons in his piece of shit magna (its that gold colour that old people drive) and so it looks like a bloody christmas tree. I'm thinking "thats so f**king lame", anyway so if hes trying to impress people with his christmas tree i'd be like "dude, thats overkill, this is how its done" and just flick on my neons. Chicks that know absolutely nothing about cars will think "omg that car has fancy lights, must be an awesome car", all the chicks i know think neons are cool. So yeah, if i see a chick walking at night i'll flick them on and be like "heyy, need a lift??" I'll go down to autobarn some time and check them out if they have any neons.

Well the guy said hes going to need to respray half the car anyway which was all included in the quote and he said to get the whole car resprayed would be an extra $1,500. I think a full respray would've cost me around $3,000 - $3,500 if he had not had to respray half the car already.

Thanks, i'll check out autobarn. Hopefully they sell them, how big are transformers? The neon kits on streetglow have in-built transformers. I looked up the autobarn website and theres a store in caboolture so yeah not too far from me.

Thanks, so do splits come with seperate tweeters? Since i already i have tweeters. I think i have 6x9's in the back of my car and i've got tweeters up the front on like the side of the side view mirrors. So since i already have tweeters, would i need splits? Also i'm always paranoid of blowing up my speakers, if i bought a 4 channel amplifier, how do i know when its at its maximum potential and that turning it up any louder would damage the speakers? Finally, would a JL amplifier be good (if you can get them)? I like to have everything the same brand and my other speakers and tweeters etc are JL Audio ones.

Yeah i've had it for around about that long, 2 months or something. The back and side of it crashed into trees as it was spinning out, the rest is fine. I was driving home and it was raining real heavy and theres this big peice of shit roundabout (used to be my favourite until now) that i don't even really know what happened. I was going around it slowly since it was wet, and as i was coming out my car just started sliding and so i tried straightening it but yeah ended up spinning out and crashing it. Apparently i accelerated out too fast but oh well, lesson learnt. But trust me, i'm incredibily unlucky. As my car was in a ditch i was watching angrily as all the other drivers were going around faster than me and not losing control.

Oh true, if autobarn sells them i'll have to check it out. To be honest if i can get neons that are always on for cheaper than ones that change with the music etc then i'd rather just go with always on. I prefer them always on, if the fading feature etc came with it for free then i'd be like whatever but i don't want to pay extra for it lol. Does autobarn sell underbody neon kits? or do you have to buy all the parts seperate? I live on the North side of Brisbane in North Lakes. Also those cars with the neons look awesome that were posted by the two other people (forgot your names sorry and i suck at multi-quoting). I looked up Streetglow, those neon sets sound good. If i can't get any neon sets locally then i'll definately get them through that site.
