im running 16psi through my hi flow and no troubles.

this might not be much help but have you checked if all the cooler piping is connected? only reason i say this is because on my car it had came off where the old air box used to sit and couldnt see that it came off there, and was very barely running. put it back on and ran perfectly

you do NEED a front mount. as mad082 mentioned earlier that the stock cooler will be suffering from heat soak. get the dump pipe. go get a nistune done as well and that will keep you happy for the time being.

i work at vw so im very familiar with the DSG box and i would have to say i much prefer it over a typical manual gearbox. having driven the r32 golf and the gti in both manual and DSG, DSG has been the quicker of the two.

thanks for the comments guys, appreciate it. and as for the mods to get them to fit, for the first day, i just chucked them on and they rubbed very very slighty on a sharp corner going a little quick. then the next day, what i did to get abit more camber was lowered it some more (adjustable tein coilovers) and lipped the guards using a guard roller. i did the rolling myself and was my first time, but yeh thats all i did, didnt pump out the guards or anything like that. will take some pics on tuesday

just thought id help out and show you guys what the 18x10 +22 looks like on a gtt. got these a while back and really love the look of them. offset just looks TUFF.

stick with the 5 speed box you have, but i would upgrade to an OS GIKEN gear set. or a ppg helical 1-4 dog gear set. os giken is priced at $4700 the ppg dog box 1-4 is $6500 and if you wanna do it once and never break anything (itll be very hard) then you can go the full 1-5 straight cut dog box from ppg for $9700

ok here is my 2cents. firstly, matt (femno) has probably covered all of it in his posts. so i totally agree with what matt has said. those of you saying that you attending the drags and it was stupid, dangerous, dumb etc. i have a question for you guys. why did you go there in the first place? surely you would have known just from receiving the messege that it will be dangerous and illegal activity would be carried out. what did you expect? barriers and ambulance etc. those that attend love the thrill of it, yes they all know what the consequences are but they love it so they attend these illegal events at any cost. everyone is entitled to having there own interests/hobbies. they love doing burnouts, so be it, you don't, fair enough then there not arguing so why should you. those that are saying it makes the us not wanna drive our cars due to too much attention from cops 'thanks' to these 'hoons'. WAKE UP. regardless if the cop wants to double fist you, he will. ive been let off plenty of times but have also been unfairly treated, thats life. NOTHING will ever change it. simple, so you dont like the way a cop is treating you do to your car, as matt said, get a family car, or stop complaining. end rant.

did my gearbox last night, i used about 3.4litres mate.

yeh sad to say but the aussie cars will be pretty dominate on the dyno, on the track etc its a different story, but this isnt the track and its a dyno so unfortunately it'll be pretty hard to beat the aussie crew

also had court today, lost my licance for 12months, and also a $250 fine. but could have been alot worse so im pretty happy with what i recieved and have learnt my lesson.
