  1. There are too many contributing factors here Martin. You will never get the same result between dyno's. Our weather conditions here, the fuel you had at the time, tyres pressures, strapping to the dyno. You figure now is most likely the most accurate but it would be useful to know which one or more caused the figure to vary that much.
  2. Or if the car wasn't secured to the dyno hard enough
  3. I'd have to agree with you there Ben. I had my commodore on a dyno in Adelaide when I had it and the difference was 1.4rwkw.
  4. I know each dyno is different but I can't see it being that far out.
  5. I'll be keen to give caltex brew a go. Burnout comp is coming and I've picked up a sponsor so I may as well make an effort and see what kind of skid my car can do. Anyone who has 15 inch 4x114.3 rims they can lend would be appreciated. Just give me a call 0419 856 391 I think Lee said Ozzy had some. I'll get in touch some time this week.
  6. PANOS I'm going to be shooting for an 11 this year on street tyres
  7. Lol cammo. And people cry about the Territory. We're pretty casual here. Cops only bother you if you draw attention to yourself. Had a bit of a run with a so called 300rwkw FG XR6 Turbo. My car appears to pull harder in every gear, even gave him a head start and caught him before the gear change and with mountains of wheel spin.
  8. If ya need a hand cammo you got my number. Who is even going to be in your class for heads up Ben? I don't konw of any other 10 second cars in street class......
  9. But just because the option of slicks and transbrake and auto are there doesn't mean you have to take it. That is why I've been running my 180sx street tyres only and still manual, just to improve my driving skills and understanding of the car more. Sure you might find it very little gain for the money spent, but that is what you get trying to compete at a level restricted to major sponsored workshops. You didn't have to go that far, but hey if that's your choice then I wish you luck. I wasn't disagreeing that circuit or time attack or even tarmac rally weren't more exciting, just that none of these are an option in Alice Springs so drag racing, rally sprint or speedway is the pinnacle of motor sport here. As for multi plate clutches, I am fully aware of what they drive like as I have one in my 180sx and I drive it daily. It also has a very tight 2 way LSD and it makes it rather jumpy in car parks or confined areas but I still drive it on a daily basis. Because I can.
  10. Multi plate clutch should be fine on the street. Just stopping and starting will take some getting used to. I can understand where your coming from by wanting to get involved with other forms of motor sport, but don't exactly see where your coming from with the whole quarter stuff is crap. It is a different discipline of driving and being consistent is a lot harder in rwd car on street tyres. Which half the appeal for me. Be interesting to see if the track here holds enough traction for a 9 second pass after nearly 6 months of rest.
  11. Should be all go to run it in first drag meet. Be good to see it out on the track again, hasn't seen too many.
  12. Hmmm, maybe track down where jimmy's stuff ended up and if they will part with it.
  13. Next on the replace list, starter motor. Never ends with this stuff. Ran into Your father the other night Ben, he's very positive about the outcome of the blue car.
  14. I wouldn't call it a gang as such Ben. More along the lines of a few enthusiasts putting in to help each other out. See ya first meeting.
  15. CG's crew should be out in full force next season.
  16. sorry Leigh but awd and power only applies to Nissan's
  17. Cory Mostran's commodore
  18. and another car is impounded for hooning
  19. Yeah, got all my stuff on Andruw. Why you selling? Going to get a commodore so you can go on cruises?
  20. Meeting worked out well. Had the normal couple of glitches to start but things happened after the sun was going down. I ran a new PB of 12.05 @ 122mph still on regular street tyres. Congrats to Cam for the times he was firing out. Carmelo did a good job shaving a second off the mazda's times. Ryan with the capella blew his gearbox, and Benny got himself some time slips too.
  21. so what is so good about Mt commodore? I mean Gambier
  22. bastard, I take it you got some pics then
  23. just getting my wastegate pipe made and mine will be good to go.
  24. things pretty quiet on here or what?
  25. spotted: green Mazda Capella with wildlife eating sized turbo making damn near close too 500hp atw. Gotta appreciate the rotory capability.
