  1. i got done doing 280km/hr in a 60 zone in my VL commodore exec.
  2. yeh i am getting my clutch thru doug in a couple of weeks, cant wait
  3. I have heard that opti has a 'shelf life' of about 4 days or so. I like to use ultimate, becuase i havent heard anything bad about it and it seems to be very clean. on performanceforums.com there seems to be a bit of debate about it, with some very useful info there, just do a search. also would it be good to fill up just after the tanker has filled the silos, so u arent getting the dregs from the bottom when its near empty???
  4. also a good thing to look out for is if it has an old turbo timer installed (usually means its been on there for a while and the turbo should be in pretty good condition). Ask to see auction papers, service reciepts. If the ks are well under 100 000 (ie 70, 80 000) check to see if the timing belt has been changed (look to see if the bolts on the cover have been loosened, like burred) that is usually a good indication that the belt has been changed a 100 000 and they have wound the them back. like any car, there is always some uncertainty when buying. Skylines seem to have a good reputation for a quality car and aftermarket parts are becoming easily accessable too. Happy hunting
  5. heh imagine trying to sell box's car in the trading post, they would have to bring out a special edition for it
  6. just did my first oil change using Motul 10w40 turbolight, seems alright dont really wanna run thin oil in an older engine (RB20 about 10 yrs old)
  7. i found like a service reciept book. it has NISSAN PRINCE printed on it - prince is for skyline and it has a love heart on it. i will get a pic of it sometime. it has heaps of service reports, sounds like it has been a well looked after car - i would say it might have been owned by a non smoking older business man. also found a tape but i havent listened to it yet. i hear you can find a bit in the door trims as well....
  8. yeh the way i work it out is fill the tank to the brim reset the ODO drive a few hundred ks fill the tank back up full divide the reading on the ODO by the litres on the bowser
  9. The type of dealers you SHOULD deal with are ones who buy from auctions and car yards in japan. 2 popular ones are Prestige Motorsport (Geoff Risbey) - located in perth, dont let that put you off, he has a pretty good reputation. J-Spec imports - Located in Melbourne i think (so that should suit you pretty well. Both of these guys have access to thousands of cars that are to go on auction each week, and will look after all the paperwork for u (shipping, import approvals, compliance) The other option is to buy local, then all you have to do is goto the cop station and give them the VIN of the car that u are sussing out to do a stolen vehicle check. Also a REVS check is also good too (check if the car is under finance). With the new compliance scheme in place now, things are a bit hazy with importing modified cars, but if you are after a stocker it seems alright with the dollar up and heaps to choose from becuase the aussie market over there is a bit low. apologies for the rambling, but i hope you gained a bit of info
  10. mine is about to tick over to 105 000 all running smooth, and kays seem to be legit, becuase i asked the mechanic about what sort of condition the belt was in when i got it changed and he said 'yeh it looks like 100 000 kays had be done on it, no need to worry about the kays being wound back,' i am getting around 8 ks to a litre too...
  11. i got my front castor bushes replaced thru fulcrum, worked out a lot cheaper than going thru genuine
  12. hey guys every now and then i get clutch slip in 4th and 5th when boost comes on. Do u think that the clutch is on its way out or would it be oil getting on the plate?? anyone had this problem before>??
  13. yeh my line backfires every now and then. I am missing 2 exhaust manifold studs, i think that might have something to do with it.....
  14. yeh me and my mates used do it a bit, like when were out driving about, we would pull up at the lights and someone would jump out and pull up another mates wipers. You would have to time it to do it just before the light turns green then he has to drive off with his wipers off looking like a fool
  15. i just bought a 32 and it has a 2 stage boost controller on it. the guy i bought it off said that the owner in japan might have but a larger spring (or uprated) fitted to run higher boost. The boost controller & gauge was fitted here and it appears to be running 10psi on low (or when it came out here, as stock/normal boost). i wound it all the way down on the low setting and i cant get under 10psi.

SVI - Special Vehicle Imports IVS - Import Vehicle Solutions Two different places - heard good reports about one and bad reports about the other. I have also discovered that alot of people in the industry cannot be trusted...
  17. yeh i am heading down tonight with redlineau - we are meeting at bp yatala at 8.30. i have been meaning to meet up with you all, since i have finally got on the road. i will keep an eye out at the carpark. probably be down there about 9ish....

  19. Yellow, 1.3L engine, new clutch, starter motor, battery, tyres good tread, 2" exhaust, rola brand roof racks. asking $1000 ono. unregistered (currently registerd til mid june) good cheap run around/first car - cheap on parts and easy to work on. also would be good for a turbo conversion (SR20DET, CA18DET, 4AGZE, 20 Valve, 13B rotar) the last model rear wheel drive corolla.
  20. sn00p, the workshop charges $80/hr labour (it was a nissan dealership). I also had to have the front suspension castor rod bushes replaced. all up 4hrs labour. total cost for the timing belt, suspension bushes, water pump and a couple of other bits was $720.
  21. I just got my belt & water pump done last week. belt 1302820P25 - $82.25 water pump 2101070T25 - $97.06
  22. I just bought a 32 gtst this week. It has the same controller. It has been tuned to 10 low 12 high, but with the cool air lately its been spiking to 12-13 and back to 10 on low boost. I dont wanna let it get over 14psi when on high.
  23. Just picking up a skyline after the long weekend and i am after a dash vent on the passenger side. Nissan quoted $74 for a genuine one. I have tried a few wreckers, but to no avail. does anybody know of any up for wrecking at the moment?? Is it the same part in a 33 dash?? i am from bris. cheers
