  1. ill make it easy, can someone please explain to me how to set up the whole coolant feed & return then i can cover all bases, the coolant feed has an 18mm thread that bolts into the turbo & a 14mm thread that bolts into the rear end of the block, the only confusing thing is the 14mm connection into the rear end of the block is already holding a copper circle with a rubber hose running off of it up the back of my block, im just unsure what im meant to do here, should i put both copper circles (one from the coolant feed & the one thats already there) on the same 14mm bolt meaning there would be 2 copper circles on the same bolt, or do i bolt one of them elsewhere? is it possible that the existing one is just temporary because i didnt have a turbo?.. the coolant return pipe has an 18mm thread into the turbo as well but doesnt have a screw on the other end of it just a rubber hose thats meant to go somewhere i am unsure where its meant to go, any help would be much appreciated.
  2. thanks mate, its really hard to explain with the whole bolt thing, i have 1 bolt with a hole that goes through the center, it holds a metal circle in place at the middle to top rear end of the block, the metal circle is attached to a rubber hose that goes directly north and has coolant in it (because i undone it). it also happens to be the exact location where the copper (water) pipe coming from my turbo naturally hovers towards, i am unsure if i can put the corcle from the copper pipe and the circle coming from the rubber hose with coolant in it on the same bolt even tho this bolt only has 1 circle not to to produce 2 lots of water flow.. took about 10 mins typing and trying to explain this as best i could, hope someone clicks.. cheers.
  3. i dont really understand why everyone is dodging my question, i got the tight bolt undone that i was having trouble with. how many water pipes are there that go into the turbo? i can only find one source of coolant and it already goes somewhere, i undone it and there is a hollow bolt with 2 holes near the head, i am assuming this is where my coolant pipe from the turbo goes? but how do i bolt it all togethor so it works? there is already something attached to that bolt?? or do i just bolt the both of them on one connection?
  4. my old DE was a really good car i had 2 mechanics (one in melbourne and one in wodonga) tell me it was spot on, there was no problems with it & this car goes just like it, i really wonna know how to get this oil plug undone (the big one that is at the bottom of the block directly under the turbo, its like super tight and from underneith the car its hard to undo something thats super tight at the bottom of the block. i tried a shifter, i even went to bunnings and bought a really good socket peice that fits it, still wont undo, getting really annoying because my hands are destroyed from it, i also would like to know how the water line works, theres only one spot it can go & there was already a connecting rubber pipe that goes up into the coolant box (i presume) do i put them both on the one connection? or what happens?. any ideas about anything?, im so close just wonna be done already.
  5. i know what im doing, i know where everything goes. i just cant undo the nut thats acting as a replacement for the big oil pipe, its all good tho, today i have another car to use so ill go to bunnings and sort it all out. if anyone knows about the coolant line and weather or not its meant to have 2 different hoses attached to it, please let me know or ill call a mechanic and ask.
  6. lol, pushing it 3 kays is probably a bad choice, your right i really dont want to risk overheating the turbo, even at slow speeds with no boost. i found the plug for the coolant where the water pipe goes but it already has a steel circle ending on it that goes to the coolant tank (i presume) and when i put both of them on it seems like it would not work coz theres only one hole in the bolt if that makes any sense, not to mention theres a very little amount of bolt left to screw into the block, also the biggest plug for the oil (right at the bottom of the block) had a plug in it, now i got the plug out and my screw connection from the turbo doesnt fit, it seems like there is another bit to undo that surrounds the first plug i took out but im not sure if its part of the block or screwed in but its not budging at all.. it seems weird that my connection is heaps to big for it coz its the same one that was in there 4 months ago befoer the turbo was taken out, its actually impossible theres something odd, unless im just a weakling and cant undo it.
  7. lol PM relax, i didnt plan on putting the turbo back in till i came off my p's, in general i cant afford to own the car anymore so i have decided to sell it. i did have a standard r33 gts as well but i sold that before christmas. anyway, i have bolted the turbo on, piping and everything is done, blow off valve is hooked up with the vaccum line, i have screwed on the smallest oil line (so glad i have car ramps). cant undo the big oil pipe at the bottom :S its really tough.. one question, how many oil & water pipes to i need to bolt back to the block? i just want to make sure i get everything right. is there anything else i need to do after i get everything connected? or am i right to just start it up and hit the road (hopefully not near a cop). if by chance i cant work the rest of it out (which im pretty confident ive got it sorted) will my car be alright to drive to the mechanic? like 3 killometers away, it still runs im just not sure if the turbo will overheat without the oil & water pipes connected? thanks allot for any help.. really appreciate it.
  8. yeah man, this is what i've been trying to prove, it is a simple modification thats made my car run pretty good considering & the car will be as good if not better when i get everything put back in after a service, tune, new Apexi Power FC, thats the plan. just got quoted $600 for my mechanic to bolt the turbo back in & hook up all the water/oil lines & BOV, ive already done allot of the labour myself (intercooler/piping/etc.), i even tried putting the turbo in myself, got it bolted in then didnt know how to do the rest so i gave up, with a couple of days off & some good info im going to atempt it myself again, does anyone have any ideas where i can get some solid info on reinstalling a turbo to an rb25det? its probably not something that everyone would post a forum about but any infomation would help i preferably need pictures so i know where everything goes, i have ramps so i can get underneith if i have to, even if it means taking the front bumper off to get it up there, thinking of selling the car in a couple of months as well. when its all back to normal, if anyone at all is interested pm me.
  9. i had a feeling that was the case, just to pay a small fee, only reason i didnt go into vic roads and ask is coz i work 17 hour days at 2 factorys and really have no time but ill shoot down there today. thanks.
  10. im aaron im from victoria, i drive a 1994' R33 (4 door) rb25det, enjoy reading up on forums & learning new ways of doing things etc. I've been a member for a while but i only recently started coming online, so far its been quite helpful.
  11. i want to take the Personalised Number Plates off my car and just continue my registration till november with normal number plates because i want to put the personalised plates on another car, can i just change over my rego to different plates? or do i have to get a full refund for whats left and pay for it in whole again? its one of those tricky questions that you cant find an answer for on the vic roads website haha
  12. hahaha i love this, i just read all the stuff on boostcruising about this forum as well (http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....494982&st=0). im getting really tempted to go out and make a video and single handedly prove how well this car is running without a turbo at low compression with the same DET ECU and Injectors, that will turn the tables a little bit, im not saying its a street machine but it has as much balls as a standard rb25 easy, then maybe SAU & Boostcruising members will realise what im doing is actually not such a bad idea, and i know the engine plate calls it a gtst but it really does not matter because i carry the turbo in my boot, my intercooler & piping goes nowhere so what are cops gonna say? they have nothing, i removed the turbo to make my car p plate legal and theres no evidence of me failing at that.
  13. well this cop knew what he was looking for and defected me for nothing but my car being 2mm to low.. i was very clear when i told him the story with my turbo, the way i see it if your genuinelly nice to a police officer there not going to go out of there way to slam you, especially when you live in a small country town like i do where everyone gets along, besides theres no relevence to me even replying because i have 4 months till im on my fulls and i live 500 meters from the masterfoods factory that i work in, what have i got to lose?, not like they would take my licence for driving a non turbo car that has an engine plate that says it has a turbo when i carry my turbo in the boot for proof, it just wouldnt happen like that man, anyway 90% of this forum doesnt help me with my question what is the point of SAU forums, honestly? people are just out to give other people s*#t its a bit of a joke.
  14. scratching, mate, i dont care about speeding, having the fastest car, doing burnouts, racing & all that bullshit. i just generally have a love for skylines, i dont know why everyone thinks you have to be in some kind of race team to own a skyline :S:S it's much more powerfull then my girlfriends barina now, its slowly been getting better and better since i got the turbo removed, ive done an oil change replaced the middle exhaust and done a few things now i cant tell the difference between my old standard r33 and this one they have a very similar performance, in other words its running just like a standard r33 so im laughing. and also its not really bothering me because in june ill be on my fulls, getting adjustable coilovers, black 19" rims & a new turbo fitted, then my car will be purring, ill never regret what i did it hasnt changed the interest of my life at all, at the end of the day it was either get the turbo removed or sell the car, i found a way around selling the car now i can keep it for years, i really dont know why everyone is confused, some of you people are making me double facepalm when one isnt enough lol.
  15. i got pulled up the other day, cop did exactly what 910trx said, popped the hood, checked out my shit, realised there was no turbo, i got defected for being to low that was all and he didnt even give me the $220 fine that they usually do.
  16. hey all, ive got up for sale a whole set (4) of used r33 skyline 5 stud wheel hubs & front uprights, just want to get rid of them because there doing nothing in my cupboard, there in good condition for what they are, no rust at all that i can see, asking $300 the lot (self orgsnised postage/pickup) or bid on ebay? (picture provided on ebay) http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...=STRK:MESELX:IT
  17. yeh well what do you expect i am a p plater , yeah, okay, i walked upto my mechanic and said here ya go mate heres a few hundred just destroy my car, you sound like the type of person to read through SAU forums and make simple storys sound tragic hahaha. once i get my turbo installed, again, my car will run just as good if not better then it was before i got it removed, because im also getting an apexi power fc ECU installed and getting it tuned, the only thing i burnt here was a bit of cash, i work in a factory and im on $28 an hour, a couple of hundred dollars wasted on a magnificent machine like an R33 Skyline is not a waste in my mind, i set my mind on doing something so that i could proudly drive my car 'legally' and i did it, and it actually doesnt go that bad considering the rb25 engine is running when its not designed to be ran without a turbo.. and for your information, i also had an N/A RB25DE and sold it, and im glad i did i prefer this car and im happy with the choices i've made with this car.. considering i made it work to my advantage when literally more then 50 people on here advised me against it hahaha *giggles to self*
  18. yeah, theres no good mechanics in my town so the guy i took it to wouldn't know much about imports just pull it all apart block off a few oil lines and change a few things and be done with it.. in victoria i heard its only a $200 fine for the first offence being on p plates and driving a turbocharged car, and no points lost so i'll risk it if i get caught once ill sell the car still having my license, if i make it 10 months without getting pulled over ill be on my fulls anyway. i heard off someone else as well that bending the copper pipes slowly is a good idea, so ill definitely keep that in mind.. nope i have the intercooler sitting there and the piping running up into the engine bay but its not hooked up i just have a pod running straight into the engine, car overheats quite a bit when im changing gears allot, when im on the freeway its a breeze, so in my eyes its actually more dangerous now then when the turbo was in it :S
  19. yeah i had a forum just seeing if anyone else had done it before and what are the risks etc.
  20. lol f this im gonna get someone to reinstall it, then drive it with a turbo and risk it, to confusing.
  21. so URAS how do you expect new people to learn things if they keep taking it to an expert, i bought this car as a project im pretty tight with 90% of what goes on under the hood and in the cabin just a little lost with the turbo, whats the point of talking to a bunch of losers who just wonna take the piss out of ya, just confuses me thats all i thought this was a social network for people to express ideas and help others.. if you get off giving people shit on a car website you seriously need to look in the mirror and tell yourself to get a life. thanks for the people who help out young car minds.
  22. yeah i have checked all them fuses, i dont know how to tell if a big fuse is busted tho? one that you cant see through.. my r33 is a 4 door and even that has fuses in the boot ive replaced every fuse just incase and its still not working properly..
  23. To start with i dont know what the hell is locking my car all i know is its really old and s*#t and takes ages to unlock my car with the remote, weather its just an immobiliser or an alarm i have no idea because ive got to get my horn fixed (dont know if the alarms going off for this reason), what i do know is whatever it is was made by a company called 'arkon' and its been in my car since 1994 so im assuming it came stock with my car.. when i bought my r33 i noticed it has interior dash neons connected to the headlight accessories with a toggle switch, im not really interested in this myself so i was trying to unwire the neons and take them out of my car completely, anyway when i was taking the panel under the steering wheel off to get to the wires i had my accessories on for the radio and i could hear the fan running in my engine, i accidently touched my screw driver that i was using on a bit of wire that was coming out of the immobiliser unit under the dash and my fan stopped working it basically cut all power to my engine but everything else still works like head lights interior lights etc.. i checked and changed every fuse in the car and nothing, disconnected the battery and everything.. is there any way i can fix this? it just seems like ive shorted something out but i dont know what or how to fix it.. p.s theres a few problems with the electrics as well whoever installed those neons has no idea what they were doing.
